< John 5 >
1 Masuole chu, Jisua Jerusalema Judah sakhuo tienga khohoi aom sikin a sea.
After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Jerusalem Belri Mokot kôla han dîl inkhat aoma, Hebrew chongin Bethzatha an ti ngâi; ma dîl han bokrop rangnga aoma.
Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep [market] a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 Ma bokropngei han damloi ngei loko tamtak an jâla mitcho ngei, kholra ngei le phalkhatthi ngei, tui singânsa zora an ngâka,
In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 a kakâra dîl han vântîrton, a juonga, tui ha a juong chek ngâi. Ma tui singânsa zora han dîla a lût masatak chu i-anga natna khomnirese an dam ngêt ngâi.
For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 Mi inkhat kum sômthum leiriet damloi a oma.
And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 Jisua'n a jâlin ava mua, male zora sôt tak renga damloia om ani ti a rieta; masikin a kôm, “Dam rang no jôt mo?” tiin a rekela.
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time [in that case], he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 Hanchu damloipu han, “Pu, tui singânsa zora dîla mi juong thak rang lak dôn mu-ung; ke se khomin mîn, min khêl nôk ngâi,” tiin a thuona.
The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jisua'n a kôm, “Inthoi inla, na jâmpher louk inla, lôn ta roh,” a tipea.
Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 Ha mi han voikhatrengin a hong dam kelena; a jâmpher chôiin a lôn phut kelen zoi. Ma nikhuo hah sabbathni ania,
And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 masikin Juda rachamneipungeiin a dampu kôm han, “Avien hin sabbathni kêng ani, jâmpher chôia lôn hi ei balam nimak,” an tipea.
The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry [thy] bed.
11 Ama han an kôm, “Ni mindampu'n, ‘Na jâmpher louk inla, lôn ta roh’ mi ti kêng,” tiin a thuona.
He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Anni ngei han, “Hi anga tho ranga nang rilpu hah tumo ani?” tiin an rekela.
Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13 Hannirese, ha a dampu han Jisua hah tumo ani riet mak, ha muna han mipui an tam sikin Jisua chu a rotpat zoi.
And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in [that] place.
14 Chomol suole chu, Jisua'n ama hah Biekina a mua male a kôm, “Rangâi roh, na dam zoi ani; masikin nunsie tho nôk khâi no roh, nu chunga natna saloi uol hong tung nih,” a tia.
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
15 Masuole chu ha mi han Juda rachamneipungei kôm a mindampu chu Jisua ani ti ava ril ngeia.
The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
16 Masikin sabbathni mi a mindam an ti sikin Jisua hah dûk an mintong zoi.
And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
17 Jisua'n an kôm, “Ka Pa'n sin a tho tit ngâia, male kei khom sin ko tho ngêt rang ani,” tiin a thuon ngeia.
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18 Ma anghan a ti sikin Juda rachamneipungeiin that rang an bôk uol nôk zoi; Sabbathni balam a siet ti vai niloiin, Pathien hah a Pa angin a bêa, ama khom Pathien leh ân-angin ânbê ti sika khom ani.
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
19 Masikin Jisua'n a thuon ngeia, “Chongdik tak nangni ki ril: Nâipasal athenin ite tho thei maka; a Pa sintho a mu ngei kai vai ke a tho ngâi. Pa'n sin a tho kai ke Nâipasal khomin a tho ngâi ani.
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 Pa'n Nâipasal a lungkhama male a tho murdi a min mu ngâi ani. Hi nêka neinun roiinpui a tho rang khom la min mûng atih, male nin rêngin nin la kamâm rang ani.
For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
21 Pa'n mithi a kaithoia ringna a pêk ngei anghan, Nâipasal khomin a nuom kai chu a min ring ngâi.
For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth [them]; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22 Pa'n tute roijêk pe ngâi maka. Roijêk rangin Nâipasal kôm kêng rachamneina akipin a pêk zoia,
For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23 masikin mi murdi'n Pa mirit an tho anghan Nâipasal khom mirit an tho theina rangin. Tukhom Nâipasal mirit tho loi kai chu Pa a tîrpu mirit tho loi ani.
That all [men] should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24 “Chongdik tak nangni ki ril: Tukhom ko chong rieta mi tîrpu iem kaiin chu kumtuong ringna an dôn zoi. Theiloi changin om mak ngeia, thina renga an jôka ringna han an lût zoi ani. (aiōnios )
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (aiōnios )
25 Chongdik tak nangni ki ril: azora atung rang ani zoi, atûn khom atung tir zoi, male mithi ngeiin Pathien Nâipasal rôl riet an ta, a riet ngei kai chu hong ring an tih.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 Pa ha ringna nâr ani anghan, Nâipasal khom ringna nârin a sin ani.
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27 Male Miriem Nâipasal ani sikin a kôm roijêk rangin rachamneina a pêk ani.
And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Ma hi kamâm no roi; azora atung rang ani zoi, ma tikin chu mithi ngeiin a rôl riet an ta,
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 male an thânngei renga hôn thoi an ta: sin sa tho ngei chu ringna changin inthoi nôk an ta, sin saloi tho ngei chu theiloi changin inthoi nôk an tih.
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
30 “Ke thena rachamneinân ite tho thei mu unga; Pathien'n ni ril lam anghan roi ke jêk ani, masikin ko roijêk chu adik ani. Keima ku nuom hi sin rangin bôk mu unga, mi tîrpu lungdo kêng sin rang ko bôk ani.
I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
31 “Ku thurchi nanâk misîr ronga, ku thurchi misîr ha adik tiin pom thei ni no ni.
If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
32 Aniatachu ku thurchi mi aminrietpu chu mi dang ania, male ama'n ku thurchi a misîr hah adik ti ki riet.
There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
33 Nangnin John kôm thangtheipungei nin tîra, ama han chongtak ruthûlin chong nangni a lei rila.
Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
34 Munisi rietpuipu ko dôn ngêt rang ki ti nimaka; mahi sanminringa nin om theina ranga ki ti ani.
But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.
35 John hah châti vârtak le ân-ângtak angin ani, male zora bongkit vai mang rang nin nuom ani anghan.
He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
36 Hannirese, rietpuipu ko dôn hi chu John minrietna chong nêkin a roiinpui uol: Khoimo ko tho, ma hah, Pa'n sintho ranga mi pêk ani, ki sintho ngêt hin Pa mi tîr ani ti ku thurchi a minriet ani.
But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
37 Male Pa mi tîrpu khom han a minriet zoi, nangnin chu khotik lâi khomin a rôl la riet ngâi mak chei, a mêl khom la mu mak chei,
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
38 male a chong khom nin mulungrîlngeia vong ngâi mak chei, a tîrpu hi nin iem loi sikin.
And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39 Asûnga kumtuong ringna aom ti nin sabei sikin, Pathien Lekhabungei ha nin pore ngâi. Male Pathien Lekhabungei han ku thurchi an misîr ani! (aiōnios )
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (aiōnios )
40 Hankhoma, ringna nin dôna rangin ko kôm hong jôt ngâi mak chei.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
41 “Munisi minpâkna rok mu-ung.
I receive not honour from men.
42 Aniatachu kho anga miriem mo nin ni nangni ki riet, male nin mulungrîlngei han Pathien lungkhamna dôn mak chei ti ki riet.
But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43 Ka pa rachamneina leh ku juong ani, hannirese mi modôm mak choia; nikhomrese, tumakhatin ama rachamin hong rese chu lei modôm nin tih.
I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 Pathien inkhat vai renga minpâkna man rang nuom mak choia, inkhat le inkhat inpâk inlôm kêng nin min luta; nônte, kho angin mo mi nin iem rang?
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that [cometh] from God only?
45 Nikhomrese, keiman Pa makunga nangni doi ki tih tiin mindon no roi. Nangni doi rang chu mi inkhat aom, nin sabeipu Moses ha.
Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is [one] that accuseth you, [even] Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 Moses nin iem tatakin chu, kei khom mi nin iem rang ani; ama han ku chungroi kêng a miziek sikin.
For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
47 Aniatachu a miziek nin iem nônchu, kho angin mo ko chong nin iem thei ranga?” a tia.
But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
