1 Hanchu Pilat'n Jisua a tuonga, a jêma.
Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged.

The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown and put it on His head, and they put a purple robe on Him.
3 male a kôm an honga, “Judangei Rêngpa ring sôt roh!” an tia, male an sea an bên zoi.
They kept coming up to Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and slapping Him on the face.
4 Pilat han pêntieng vêlkhat ava jôk nôka, mipuingei kôm, “En ta u, theiloi mintumna rangin ite a sietna abi man mu-ung, ti nangni min riet rangin nin kôm ka la hong tuong rang ani,” a tia.
Pilate then went out again, and told the Jews, “Look, I’m bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against Him.”
5 Masikin riling lukhum inkhumin, kâncholiinchuol senduk hakin Jisua a hong jôka. Pilat'n an kôm, “En roi! Hi miriem hi!” a tia.
Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, and Pilate said to them, “Look! Here is the man!”
6 Ochaisingei le Biekin rungpungei an hong mu lehan an hêtsana, “Khrosa jêmdel roh, khrosa jêmdel roh,” an tia. Pilat'n an kôm, “Nônchu tuong ungla nangnin khrosa jêmdel roi. Theiloi mintumna rangin ite a sietna bi man mu-ung,” a tia.
When the chief priests and officers saw Him, they shouted “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!” Pilate told them, “You take Him and crucify Him, because I find no basis for a charge against Him.”
7 Mipuingei han, “Pathien Nâipasalin ânbê sikin a thi rang ani, ti balam kin dôn ani,” tiin an thuon nôka.
The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He claimed to be God’s Son.”
8 Ma chong hah Pilat'n a rietin chu a chi uol nôk zoia.
When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid,
9 In sûnga a lût nôka, Jisua kôm, “Kho renga hong mo ni ni?” tiin a rekela. Aniatachu Jisua'n thuon maka.
and went back into the Praetorium, and asked Jesus, “Where are You from?” But Jesus didn’t answer him.
10 Pilat'n a kôm, “Ni na thuon loi rang mo? Nang mojôk theina le nang jêmdel theina rachamneina ko dôn ti hi riettit roh,” a tipea.
Pilate therefore asked him, “Do you refuse to speak to me? Don’t you know that I have authority to release you, and authority to crucify you?”
11 Jisua'n a kôm, “Pathien'n nang a pêk sika vaiin kêng ku chunga rachamneina no dôn ani. Masikin nu kuta mi hong bangpu chu a sietna arik uol ok ani,” tiin a thuona.
Jesus answered, “You would have no authority at all against me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered me to you has the greater sin.”
12 Pilat'n ma chong hah a rietin chu Jisua a mojôk theina rang lam a mindonna. Aniatachu mipuingeiin an hêtsana, “No mojôkin chu Rêng mal nimak che! Tutu khom rênga ânbê kai chu Rêng doia ânhel an ni!” an tia.
From then on, Pilate tried to release Him, but the Jews shouted, “If you let this man go, you aren’t Caesar’s friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.”
13 Ma chongngei hah Pilat'n a rietin chu Jisua pêntieng a tuonga male roijêkpu sukmuna “Lungdâp” (Hebrew chongin “Gabbatha”) an tia han ânsunga.
Therefore when Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called “The Pavement,” but in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”
14 Hima nikhuo hah Kalkân kût ranga incherêlni ania, sûnchimrip dôr ani. Pilat'n mingei kôm han, “Mahin nin rêngpa aom!” a tia.
Now it was the day of preparation for the Passover. It was about the sixth hour. Pilate told the Jews, “Look! Here is your King!”
15 An hêtsan nôka, “That roh! That roh! khrosa jêmdel roh!” an tia. Pilat'n an kôm, “Nin rêngpa khrosa jêmdel rangin mi nin nuom mo?” tiin a rekel ngeia. Ochaisingei han, “Caesar vai kêng rêng kin dôn!” tiin an thuona.
They therefore shouted, “Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him!” Pilate asked them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”

Then Pilate delivered Jesus to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led Him away.
17 Jisua a khros ruputin “Luru Mun” (Hebrew chongin “Golgotha”) an ti dênin a sea.
And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha.
18 Ma mun han khrosa an jêmdela; male midang inik an jêmdel sa, voi le changa, alâitaka Jisua.
There they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, with Jesus in the center.
19 Pilat'n minrietna a mizieka, “Nazareth Jisua, Judangei Rêngpa,” tiin khros lêra a târa.
Now Pilate wrote a notice, and put it on the cross. The notice said: “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
20 Jisua an jêmdelna mun hah khopuilien renga ala loi sikin mi tamtakin an porea. Minrietna hah Hebrew chong, Latin chong le Greek chongin miziek ani.
Then many of the Jews read this notice, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
21 Ochaisingei han Pilat kôm, “Judangei Rêngpa” tiin miziek no roh, ama'n kêng, “Judangei Rêngpa ki ni a ti,” an tipea.
Therefore the chief priests of the Jews told Pilate, “Don’t write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘He said, “I am the King of the Jews.”’”
22 Pilat'n, “Ki miziek sai chu miziekin aom ani zoi.” tiin a thuona.
Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”
23 Râlmingei han Jisua an jêmdel suole chu a puonngei an lâka tum minlin an sema, an taka tum khat an changa. A kâncholiinchuol khom an lâka, maha sûiloi kâncholia không ani.
When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they split His garments into four parts, to each soldier a part, including the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece.
24 Râlmingei han, “Khêr no u; tho, tumo a chang rang taruosân ei ti u.” inkhat le inkhat annin tia. Pathien lekhabua ânziek hah ahongtung adik theina rangin ha ngei hah ahong om ani: “Anni ngei han ku puon ki dier annin sema male ka kâncholiinchuol rangin taruo an sâna.” Male ma anghin râlmingei han an tho zoi ani.
Therefore they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots to see whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: “They divided my garments among them, And for my clothing they cast lots.” So the soldiers did these things.
25 Jisua khros kôla ânding ngei chu a nû, a nû zuorpuinu, Clopas lômnu Mary, le Mary Magdalene ngei an ni.
Now Jesus’ mother, His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene stood by Jesus’ cross.
26 Jisua'n a nû le a lungkham ngâipu a ruoisi hah a kôla an inding a mua; masikin a nû kôm han, “Ama hih na nâipasal ani,” a tipea.
Therefore when Jesus saw His mother, and the disciple who He sincerely loved standing by, He told His mother, “Woman, here is your son!”
27 Hanchu a ruoisi kôm han khom, “Amanu hih nu nû ani,” a tipea. Ma zora renga ha chu a ruoisi han hanu hah a ina om rangin a tuong zoi ani.
Then He told the disciple, “Here is your mother!” From that hour, that disciple took her into his own home.
28 Jisua'n atûn chu neinunngei murdi ânzoi suo zoi ti a rieta; male Pathien lekhabua ânziek ahong tung adik theina rangin, “Ku tui ânrâl,” a tia.
After this, Jesus, knowing that everything was now accomplished, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I’m thirsty!”
29 Ma muna han uain thûra sip khuriâi inkhat aoma, sponge uaina an michie, hyssop khiengrol le an târra, a mûr an hong min tôna.
A jar full of vinegar was standing there, so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on a hyssop stalk, and lifted it up to His mouth.
30 Jisua'n uain thûr ha a nêk suole chu, “Ahek zoi!” a tia. Hanchu a lu a juon kûna a rangachat zoi.
When Jesus had received the vinegar, He said, “It is finished!” Then, He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit.
31 Hanchu ma nikhuo hah Sûnrangngani ania, Juda rachamneipungeiin Sabbathnia khros lêra ruok aom tit rang hah an nuom loi sikin mi an jêmdel ngei kengei hah khiek rangin, le an ruokngei khrosngei renga musum rangin Pilat kôm phalna an ngêna, ahong tung rang Sabbathni ha aliekin ânthieng ani sikin.
Because it was the Preparation Day, the Jews asked Pilate for the prisoners’ legs to be broken, and that they might be taken away, so that the bodies wouldn’t stay on the cross on the Sabbath (because that Sabbath was a special one).
32 Masikin râlmingei hah an sea, Jisua leh munkhata an jêmdel tong masapu le midang inkhatpu kengei hah an khieka.
Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man and of the other man who was crucified with Jesus,
33 Aniatachu Jisua kôla an hongin chu athi saiin an hong mua, masikin a kengei chu khiek mak ngei.
but when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they didn’t break His legs.
34 Râlmi inkhatin Jisua kângrâm isei leh a hong sunna, harenghan thisen le tui a juong suok zoia.
Instead, one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
35 (Masikin hi neinun a mupu hin nangni khom nin iemna rangin a misîr ani. A misîr hih adika, male chongtak ani ti khom a riet ani.)
He who saw it has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe.
36 Pathien lekhabua, “A rungei inkhat luo khiek ni no nih.” tia ânziek hah ahong tung adik theina rangin hima hah ahong om ani.
These things were done so that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be broken.”
37 Pathien lekhabu mun danga, “Mingei han an sunna hah la en an tih,” a ti sa.
Another Scripture says, “They will look on Him who they pierced.”
38 Masuole chu, Arimathea khuoa mi Joseph han Pilat kôm Jisua ruok hah lâk rangin a ngêna. (Joseph hah Juda rachamneipungei chi sika inrûka Jisua nûkjûipu ani.) Pilat'n ruok hah chôi thei rangin a phal pea, masikin Joseph'n a chôia a se pui zoi ani.
After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate if he could take the body of Jesus away; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus.
39 Nicodemus, motona jâna Jisua kôma lei hongpu han mirimhoi myrrh le aloe ânpol kilogram sômthum dôr chôiin Joseph a jûi sa.
Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing about a hundred Roman pounds of a mixture of myrrh and aloes.

So they took the body of Jesus, and wrapped it in strips of linen with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.
41 Jisua an thatna muna han ruhuon inkhat aoma, ma ruhuon sûng han tute an lân phûmna ngâiloi thân thar inkhat aoma.
In the place where He was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had yet been laid.
42 Judangei Sabbathni rang motona sûn ani sika le thân ha anâi sikin, mahan Jisua ruok hah an phûm zoi ani.
Because of the Jewish Preparation Day, and because the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.
