1 Taksônna dôn ti chu neinunngei ei sabei ngei hah adik ngêt ti le neinun ei mu theiloi ngei a om ngêt ti minthâr hih ani.

Now faith is [the] substance of things hoped for, [the] proof of matters not being seen,

2 An taksônna jârin kêng zora muruoa mingei han Pathien pomna an lei chang ngâi.

for by this, the elders were well-attested.

3 Taksônna jârin kêng vânnuoi hih Pathien chonga sin ani ti ei riet, masikin neinun ei mu thei ngei hih neinun mu theiloi renga sin an ni. (aiōn g165)

By faith we understand the ages to have been prepared by a saying of God, in regard to the things seen having not come out of things appearing. (aiōn g165)

4 Taksônnân kêng Abel han Cain nêka inbôlna sa uol Pathien kôm a pêka. A taksônna sikin a neinunpêk hah pomin aoma, midik tiin Pathien pomna a chang ani. A taksônna jârin Abel hah a thi suonûk khomin thurchi a la misîr bang ani.

By faith Abel offered a better sacrifice to God than Cain, through which he was testified to be righteous, God testifying of his gifts, and through it, he being dead, yet speaks.

5 Taksônnân Enoch hah thiloiin dar ani. Manêkin, ama chu Pathien kôm chungtieng tuongin a oma, Pathien'n ama hah chungtieng a tuong zoi sikin tutên mu khâi mak ngei. Pathien Lekhabu'n Enoch hah chungtieng tuonga aom mân han Pathien râi a lei minsân ngâi, ati ani.

By faith Enoch was translated—not to see death, and was not found, because God translated him; for before his translation he had been testified to—that he had pleased God well,

6 Taksônna boiin chu tutên Pathien râiminsân thei ngâi mak ngei, Tukhom Pathien kôma hong kai chu Pathien aom ngêt ti takansôna male ama rokpu ngei kôm han râisânman a pêk ngâi.

and apart from faith it is impossible to please [Him], for it is required of him who is coming to God to believe that He exists and [that] He becomes a rewarder to those seeking Him.

7 Taksônnân kêng Noah han sûn motona a la mu ngâiloi neinunngei Pathien'n inningna a ril lâihan, Pathien chong jômin rukuong a sina, ama leh a insûngmingei sanminringin an oma. Ma sika han rammuol hah theiloi a minchanga, taksônna sika dikna Pathien kôma om hah a man ani.

By faith Noah, having been divinely warned concerning the things not yet seen, having feared, prepared an ark to the salvation of his house, through which he condemned the world, and he became heir of the righteousness according to faith.

8 Taksônnân Abraham han, Pathien'n pêk ranga ram a khâm pe muna se rangin a koi lâihan Pathien chong jômin a sena rang luo riet loiin a ram mâkin a se ani.

By faith Abraham, being called, obeyed, to go forth into the place that he was about to receive for an inheritance, and he went forth, not knowing to where he goes.

9 Taksônna jârin Pathien'n ram pêk ranga ânkhâm pena han ramdangmi angin a oma, Pathien renga chonginkhâm mansai Isaac le Jacob anghan puon-inngei han a om ani.

By faith he sojourned in the land of the promise as a strange country, having dwelt in dwelling places with Isaac and Jacob, fellow-heirs of the same promise,

10 Abraham'n khopuilien lungphûm adet, Pathien minvo le sin, khopui hah a ngâk bang ani.

for he was looking for the city having the foundations, whose craftsman and constructor [is] God.

11 Taksônnân Abraham hah atar ok suonûkin le Sarah khom aching nâi dôn thei khâiloi rang nikhomsenla, Pathien chu a chonginkhâma taksôn aom sikin pa a la chang ani.

And by faith Sarah, herself barren, received power to conceive seed even after the time of life, seeing she judged Him who promised faithful;

12 Abraham hah athi angdôra om nikhomsenla, ma mi inkhat renga han richisuonpâr tamtak, invâna ârsi ngei dôr, tuipui kôla sietsai telsuoloidôr an inzir ani.

for this reason, also, from one—and that of one who had become dead—were begotten as the stars of the sky in multitude, and innumerable as the sand that [is] by the seashore.

13 Taksônna dônin ha mingei murdi hah an thi ani. Pathien'n a khâm pe neinunngei man phâk khom no rese ngeia, ala tak renga mûn an lei phâma, pilchunga hin ramdangmi ngei le mi invâingei an ni tiin ânlangiemin an lên riet zoi.

All these died in faith, having not received the promises, but having seen them from afar, and having been persuaded, and having greeted [them], and having confessed that they are strangers and sojourners on the earth,

14 Ma anga neinun ti ngei ha chu an ram an thîr ani ti ânthâr ani.

for those saying such things make apparent that they seek a country;

15 An ram hong mâk ha chu mindon tit khâi mak ngeia; mindon senla ngei chu kîrnôkna Zorânchum dôn an tih.

and if, indeed, they had been mindful of that from which they came forth, they might have had an opportunity to return,

16 Manêkin, ram sa uol invâna ram om hah kêng an rangâi ani. Masikin Pathien'n an Pathien ânti hah inzak maka, anta rangin khopuilien tena a lei mintuo pe ngei zoi.

but now they long for better, that is, heavenly, for this reason God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God, for He prepared a city for them.

17 Taksônnân Abraham hah Pathien'n a minsin lâihan a nâipasal Isaac hah inbôlnân a pêk ani. Abraham hah Pathien'n a kôm chonginkhâm a sinpuipu nikhomsenla, a nâipasal inkhat mamang khom nirse inbôlna rangin a la pêk nuom ani.

By faith Abraham has offered up Isaac, being tried, even the [one] having received the promises offered up his only begotten,

18 Pathien'n a kôm, “Isaac renga hin ni richisuonpârngei kên khâmngei hah nei ni tih,” a tipe.

of whom it was said, “In Isaac will your Seed be called,”

19 Abraham han, Pathien'n Isaac hah thina renga khom a kaithoi thei ti a rieta, masikin Isaac hah Abraham'n thina renga a man nôk ti rangin a om ani.

reckoning that God is even able to raise up out of the dead, from where also in a figurative sense he received [him].

20 Taksônnân Isaac han sûnmotona rangin Jacob le Esau hah chongkhâmin sat a vur ngei ani.

By faith, concerning coming things, Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau.

21 Taksônnân Jakob han a thi rang totôn Joseph nâingei hah sat a vur ngei ruruoia. A sunrol mong chunga inngamin Pathien chubai a muk ani.

By faith Jacob, dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph and worshiped on the top of his staff.

22 Taksônnân Joseph a thi rang lâihan Israelnâi ngei Egypt ram renga an inphêt rang roi a misîra, male a ruok an dar rang chang rilna chong a mâk pe ngei ani.

By faith Joseph, dying, made mention concerning the outgoing of the sons of Israel, and gave command concerning his bones.

23 Taksônnân Moses hah a suok lâihan, nâipang mêlsa takin an mu sikin a nulepan rêng chongpêk donloi hah chi loiin thânthum an thup ani.

By faith Moses, having been born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw the child beautiful, and were not afraid of the decree of the king.

24 Taksônnân Moses han a honglien tena chu, rêng (Pharoah) nâinupang a nâipasal inti rang hah nuom khâi maka.

By faith Moses, having become great, refused to be called a son of the daughter of Pharaoh,

25 Chomolte sûnga sietna le hoinân, mang nêkin Pathien mingei leh dûktongna tuong rang a thang uol zoi ani.

having chosen rather to be afflicted with the people of God, than to have sin’s pleasure for a season,

26 Messiah sika mumâkna tuong hah Egypt rama rochon murdi ngei nêka rochon lût uolin a bea, sûn motona râisânman a man rang hah a mitin a thîr tit sikin.

having reckoned the reproach of the Christ greater wealth than the treasures in Egypt, for he looked to the repayment of reward.

27 Taksônnân Moses hah rêng taksi hah chi loiin Egypt ram a mâka. Mutheiloi Pathien hah a mu sikin nûkkîr tho rang nuom khâi mak.

By faith he left Egypt behind, having not been afraid of the wrath of the king, for as seeing the Invisible One—he endured.

28 Taksônnân Kalkân Kût a minsûka, male thisen hah inkhâr luchunga rethe rangin chong a pêka, masikin Thina Vântîrton han Israelngei nâipasal lutir ngei a that loina rangin.

By faith he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, so that He who is destroying the firstborn might not touch them.

29 Taksônnân Israelngei han tâng châra lôn angin Tuipui Sen hah an rakân theia; Egypt mingei chu rakân rang an tho lâihan tuiin a melem ngei let ani.

By faith they passed through the Red Sea as through dry land, which having made an attempt [to cross], the Egyptians were swallowed up.

30 Taksônnân kêng Jericho kulpui hah Israelngeiin sûn sari anhîl suolechu achim zoi.

By faith the walls of Jericho fell, having been surrounded for seven days.

31 Taksônnân kêng Rahab notizuornu hah Pathien chong jômloi ngei leh thata an om rang renga an jôka, Israel enrichikpungei hah malngei angin a lei phâm ngei sikin.

By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who disbelieved, having received the spies with peace.

32 Ka la misîr sa rang mo? Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel le dêipungei thurchi misîr rang lakinte keima rangin zora mi hun pe mak.

And what yet will I say? For the time will fail me recounting about Gideon, also Barak, and Samson, and Jephthah, also David, and Samuel, and the prophets,

33 An taksônna jârin ram pumpui an doia, an menea. Imo adik, hah an sina male Pathien'n imo chong ânkhâm hah an mana. Ekeibaknei bâikoungei an hîppe ngeia,

who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped mouths of lions,

34 mei inthangngei an thata, khandaia thata an om rang hah an rotpai ani. Râtloi an lei nia, aniatachu an hong râta; râlbuola râttak an nia ramdang râlmingei an motorsar ngâi.

quenched the power of fire, escaped the mouth of the sword, were made powerful out of weakness, became strong in battle, caused armies of the foreigners to give way;

35 Taksônna jârin nupangngeiin an sûngsuok lei thi ngei inthoia ring nôk an man ani. Adangngei khom hoiriema om nuomloiin, inthoinôkna sa uol an man theina rangin dûktuonga thi rangin an om ani.

women received their dead by a resurrection, and others were tortured, not accepting the redemption, that they might receive a better resurrection,

36 Senkhat chu munuoiinja sinnân an manga male an vîk ngeia, Adangngei chu Jîngzirûia thungin intângna ina an khuma.

and others received trial of mockings and scourgings, and yet of bonds and imprisonment;

37 Lunga dêngin an oma, bongnika âtin an oma, khandaia thatin an oma. Belri vunngei aninônchu kêl vunngei insilin an invâia inriengin, dûkmintongin le nunuomlôn an oma.

they were stoned, they were sawn apart, they were tried; they died in the killing of the sword; they went around in sheepskins, in goatskins—being destitute, afflicted, injuriously treated,

38 An ta rangin chu rammuol hih ommun hoiloi tak ani! Mi invâingei angin ramchâr ngeia le tângngeia an invâka, lungkuo ngei le khurngeia an om ngâia.

of whom the world was not worthy; wandering in deserts, and mountains, and caves, and the holes of the earth;

39 An taksônnân mangei murdi hah riettitna an mana! Hannoma Pathien chonginkhâm chu man phâk mak ngei.

and all these, having been testified to through faith, did not receive the promise,

40 Pathien'n ei ta rangin manêka neinun mintuo sa uol mindonna a nei sikin. Eini ngei leh vai kêng achukphara sinin an om rang ti hi Pathien neinunkhîn ani.

God, having provided something better for us, that apart from us they might not be made perfect.
