1 Upa renga han, Ko moroitak Gaius, ku lungkham tatakpu kôm,

The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.

2 Ka mal moroitak, ratha han na dam ti ki riet anghan, neinunngei murdi asadima a lônna taksa han na dam theina rangin ku chubai ngâi.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

3 Khristien champuingei senkhat an juonga, taksônoma no omtit ngâi anghan, chongtaka iem no omtit tih min rila, ka râisân tatak ani.

For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

4 Ka nâingei chongtaka an om ti ki rieta ka râisân nêka râisânna lien uol reng dôn mu ung.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

5 Ka mal moroitak, khuolmingei anni lâi khomin Khristien champuingei chunga taksônomtakin sin no tho ngâia.

Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;

6 Hi taka koiindangngei kôm khom nu lungkhamna chungroi an misîr zoi. An khuolchaina mozomtita Pathien a râisân theina rangin rangâihoitakin lei san ngei roh.

Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:

7 Khrista sinthoa an khuolchaina han iemloingei renga sanna lâk loiin an nin thok sikin.

Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.

8 Masikin eini Khristienngeiin, chongtaka sin an thona han ênchelsa theina rangin hi mingei hih ei san ngêt rang ani.

We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.

9 Koiindang kôma lekhamuthuon bongte chu ki mizieka; aniatachu, an ruoipu chang nuom ngâipu Diotrephes han chu ko chong ite lunghâng tho noni.

I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.

10 Hanchu ku juong tika chu a sintho murdi lunghâng tho ka ta; kin chungroia neinun ichiruoingei a ti ngâi le milak a ril ngâi! Aniatachu maha khom ahunin la riet maka; ei Khristien champuingei an hong khomin mintung ngâi maka, mi mintung rang nuomngei khom a khap ngâi male koiindang renga rujûl pai ngei rang a pût ngâi!

Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth [them] out of the church.

11 Ka mal moroitak, asaloi jûi nônla, asa jûi roh. Tukhom asa sinpu ngei chu Pathien ta an nia; tukhom asaloi sinpu ngei chu Pathien la muloi an ni.

Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

12 Demetrius hah mitinin asa an ti ngâia; chongtak han amananâkin asa a ti ngâi. Male keini khomin kin thurchi kin bôk sa, male khoimo kin ti hih adik ti ni riet.

Demetrius hath good report of all [men], and of the truth itself: yea, and we [also] bear record; and ye know that our record is true.

13 Chong tamtak nangni ril rang ko dôn, aniatachu maha pen le pentuiin no kôm miziek nuom mu ung.

I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto thee:

14 Nang mu lai rang ka sabeia, hanchu intongin la chong rei. Rathângamin om roh. Na malngei nâmin chibai an hong muthuon. Ei malngei hah an misang zeta chibai mi mûk pe chit roh.

But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace [be] to thee. [Our] friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.
