< 1 Timothy 3 >
1 Tukhom koiindang ruoipu chang rang a nuomin chu, sin satak tho a nuom ani: ti chong hih adik ani.
This is a faithful saying: If someone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a good work.
2 Koiindang ruoipu chu demnaboi ani ngêt rang, lômnu inkhat vai dôn ani ngêt rang, mi harvang, indînthei, le balam taka om mi; a ina khuolmingei min tung ngâi; mi minchu thei;
The overseer, therefore, must be beyond criticism, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, good at teaching;
3 ju inrûi ngâiloi aninônchu mi leh insuol ngâiloi, phûkinchuol le mi leh inngêi mi; sum midit mi ani tet rang nimak;
not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money;
4 a insûng jêk thei mi le a nâingei a chong an jôm mi le an jâ ngâi mi ani ngêt rang ani.
one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;
5 A insûng luo jêk theiloi mi han inmo Pathien koiindang a enkol thei ranga?
(but if someone does not know how to manage his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?)
6 Taksônna tienga mitungsuo ani ngêt rang ani, masikin inpâknân a sipa Diabol theiloi a chang anghan, theiloi a chang loina rangin.
not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
7 Koiindang pêntienga mingei khomin an jâ ngâi mi ani rang ani, masikin mâimôkinsakin le Diabol chânga an ôk loina rangin.
Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into disgrace and the trap of the devil.
8 Koiindanga sanpungei khom nunchan sa le takintâi mi an ni ngêt rang ania; ju mudu ngâi loi le suma inruok mi an ni rang nimaka;
Deacons, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not devoted to a lot of wine, not greedy for money;
9 sielesarietna ânthârtak le taksônna chongtak hah an mutu mindet tit rang ani.
holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10 Amotona minsin bak nisenla ngeia, male minsina han an kaiin chu, sin min tho ngei nirse.
Let them also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, if they are blamesless.
11 An lômnungei khom nunchan sa mi ani ngêt rang ani, mi mûrtam an ni rang nimaka; neinuntina mi harvang le mi indik anni ngêt rang ani.
Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.
12 Koiindang sanpu chu lômnu inkhat vai dôn ngêt, male a nâingei le a insûng asadima jêk thei mi ani rang ani.
Let deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13 Ha sanpungei lâia an sin sataka thopu ngeiin chu anninanâk rangin dingmun asa changin Khrista Jisua an taksônna roi hah hâitakin an misîr thei ngâi ani.
For those who have served well as deacons gain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
14 No kôma hi lekhamuthuon ki miziek anghin, honga nang hong mu lai rangin ka sabei.
These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly;
15 Aniatachu ko hong innu duoiin chu, Pathien insûngmi ngei kho angin mo eininanâkin ei om rang, hi lekhamuthuon hin nang min riet atih, ma hih Pathien ring koiindang, chongtak chopui le ânngamna hah ani.
but if I wait long, that you may know how people ought to behave themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
16 Ei sakhuo chonginthup ânlal tie hih tutên dem thei no ni ngei: Ama hah miriemin a juong inlanga, Ratha'n adik ti a minlanga, male vântîrtonngeiin an mua. Ama hah namtinngei lâia phuong ani zoia, rammuol pumpuia mingeiin an iema, male invân tieng khin lâkpaiin aom zoi.
Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: He was revealed in the flesh, justified by the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
