PETER, a legate of Jesus the Messiah, to the elect and sojourners, who are dispersed in Pontus and in Galatia, and in Cappadocia, and in Asia, and in Bithynia,

to them who have been chosen, by the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto the obedience and the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus the Messiah: May grace and peace abound towards you.

3 Ei Pumapa Jisua Khrista Pathien le pa chu minpâkin om rese. Ama han a moroina lien sikin thina renga Jisua Khrista kaithoiin ringna thar mi pêka, sabeina ring leh mi minsip zoi.

Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, who in his great mercy hath begotten us anew, by the resurrection of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, to the hope of life,

and to an inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading, which is prepared for you in heaven;

5 Sanminringna zora nûktaka inlang ranga a darchiena om hah man rangin taksônna sika Pathien sinthotheinân dar nin ni.

while ye are kept, by the power of God and by faith, for the life that is prepared and will be revealed in the last times;

6 Masikin râiminsân roi, atûna hin dûk tamtak nin tuong sikin inngûiin la om khom ungla.

wherein ye will rejoice for ever, notwithstanding ye at the present time are pressed a little, by the various trials that pass over you;

7 Nin taksônna adik mo itia nangni minthâr hah an khîn tak ani. Asiet thei rângkachak luo mana meia an minthâr ngâia, nin taksônna rângkachak nêka lut uol ok vang chu asôi theina rangin minsinin ai om rang ani. Hanchu Jisua Khrista ânlâr nikhuo han minpâkna, roiinpuina le chôiminsângna man nin tih.

so that the proof of your faith may appear more precious than refined gold that is tested by fire, unto glory and honor and praise, at the manifestation of Jesus the Messiah:

8 Ama hah la mu tet ngâi no khom ungla nin lungkhama, atûn la mu no khom ungla nin iema, masikin râisâna misîr zoiloi roiinpui takin nin sip ngâi ani,

whom having not seen, ye love; and in the faith of whom ye rejoice, with joy that is glorious and ineffable,

9 asikchu nin ratha ngei sannminringna nin mana, mahah ama nin taksônna abitak chu ani.

that ye may receive the recompense of your faith, the life of your souls;

10 Ma sanminringna hah dêipungeiin asadimin an roka an phuola, ma neinunpêk Pathien'n nangni ai pêk rang hah an lei phuong sai ani.

that life namely, about which the prophets inquired, when they were prophesying of the grace which was to be given to you.

11 Anni han kho zora mo ai tung rang le i-angin mo ai tung rang iti an zong ngâia. An sûnga Khrista Ratha a om han, Khrista tuong rang tie le roiinpuia a om rang hah chongphuongna an lei dôn ngâi ani.

And they searched for the time which the Spirit of the Messiah dwelling in them did show and testify, when the sufferings of the Messiah were to occur, and his subsequent glory.

12 Ma dêipungei kôma han Pathien'n, an sin hah anni inlâpna rang ni loiin, nangni ranga an isin ani iti a min riet zoi. And it was revealed to them, in regard to all they were searching, that, not for themselves were they inquiring, but for us they were prophesying of those things, which are now manifested to you by means of the things we have announced to you, by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven; which things the angels also desire to look into.

Wherefore, gird up the loins of your minds. and be awake perfectly, and wait for the joy, which will come to you at the revelation of our Lord Jesus the Messiah,

14 Pathien chong jôm ungla, male ite rietloia nin om lâia nin ôina ngei han nin ringnunngei ajêk rangin inphal no roi.

as obedient children: and be ye not conversant again with those former lusts, with which ye lusted when without knowledge.

15 Manêkin, nangni koipu Pathien ânthieng ang han nin thona murdia inthieng roi.

But be ye holy in all your conduct, as he is holy who hath called you.

16 Pathien lekhabu'n, “Keima kên thieng sikin inthieng roi,” ai ti ang han.

Because it is written: Be ye holy, even as I am holy.

17 Hanchu mi murdi an sintho dungjûia ân-angnata roijêk ngâipu Pathien kôm chubai nin thôn, O Pa, nin ti ngâiin chu rammuola nin lêng kâr chu ama rangin mân inthieng thôn om roi.

And if so be ye call on the Father, with whom is no respect of persons, and who judgeth every one according to his deeds, pass the time of your sojournment with fear;

18 Nin richibulngeiin nangni an pêk, nin nunchan mangmunboi renga hah, neinun asiet thei sumdâr le rângkachaka minjôk ni mak chei ti nin rieta;

since ye know, that neither with perishable silver, nor with gold, ye were redeemed from your vain doings, which ye had by tradition from your fathers;

19 belrite demnaboi aninônchu achâina boitêt anga, Khrista inbôlna manlutaka ratan nin nih.

but with the precious blood of that Lamb in which is no spot nor blemish, namely, the Messiah:

20 Ama hah rammuol insieng mân renga Pathien'n a lei thangsai, le hi sûn nûktak ngeia hin nangni sikin inlangin ai om ani.

who was predestined to this, before the foundation of the world; and was manifested at the termination of the times, for your sakes;

21 Ama sikin thina renga a kaithoipu le roiinpuina pêkpu Pathien hah nin iema; maleh masikin nin taksônna le nin sabeina ngei hah Pathien chunga mindetin ai om ani.

who, by means of him, have believed in God, who raised him from the dead and conferred glory on him; that your faith and hope might be in God,

22 Atûn chu chongtak nin jômna sikin nin champui iempungei lungkham tatak rangin nangni nanâkin nin inthieng zoi sikin nin mulungrîl murdi'n inkhat le inkhat inlungkham inlôm roi.

while your minds became sanctified, by obedience to the truth; and ye be full of love, without respect of persons, so that ye love one another out of a pure and perfect heart;

23 Athithei ni loiin, athitheiloi nulepa renga nâingei anghan, Pathien chong ring kumtuong chongbâi renga suok nôk nin nih. (aiōn g165)

like persons born again, not of seed that perisheth, but of that which doth not perish, by the living word of God, who abideth for ever. (aiōn g165)

24 Pathien lekhabu'n: “Miriem murdi hih sûl angin an nia, an roiinpuina ngei khom rama pârngei angin an ni. Sûlngei chu athêma, male a pârngei atâka,

Because all flesh is as grass, and all its beauty like the flower of the field. The grass drieth up, and the flower withereth away;

25 aniatachu, Pumapa chong chu tuonsôtin aom tit ani,” ai ti anghan. Hi chong hih, Thurchi Sa nin kôma an phuong hah ani. (aiōn g165)

but the word of our God abideth for ever: and this is the word that is announced to you. (aiōn g165)
