< 1 Peter 3 >

1 Ma angdên han nangni lômnu ngei, nin lômpa ngei kôma nin inpêklût ngêt rang ani, hanke an lâia mi Pathien chong iemloi an om le khoma nin nunchan han mene ngei a ta, iem an tih. Chongin nin ti rang nâng no nih,
Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
2 nin nunchan inthieng le mirit hah an mu rang sikin.
While they behold your chaste conversation [coupled] with fear.
3 Nin invona hah pêntienga nin mêlsana rangin nin invona sam mini, aninônchu rângkachak invona ngei mini, aninônchu silbomngei mini nin mang rang nimak.
Whose adorning let it not be that outward [adorning] of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 Manêkin, nin mulungrîla mêlsana hah, nin mulungrîla ratha dâiriem le nunnêmna invona dik tar ngâiloi nirese, mahah Pathien mitmua chu alut tak ani.
But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
5 Zora lei vunsaia nupangngei, Pathien kôma inpêka ama chunga an sabeina bâng ngâi ngei han an lômpa ngei kôma enhoitakin an inpêklût ngâi ani.
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
6 Sarah hah ma anghan ania, Abraham chong a jôma, ka puma, tiin a koi ngâi ani. Atûn khom asa nin sina, ite china reng nin dônin chu Sarah nâinupangngei nin ni.
Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
7 Ma angdên han nangni lômpangei khom, nin lômnungei hah nangni ranga râtloi uol anni iti riettheiin nin lêngpui ngei rang ani. Jana dôn pumin ompui ngei ungla, asikchu anni khom nangni leh munkhatin Pathien manboipêk ringna hah an man sa rang ani. Nin chubai tho ânkalpui loina rangin mahah tho roi.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Chongkhârna rangin: mulung munkhatin om ngêt ungla, lâibungngei le sarnungei anghan inkhat le inkhat inlungkham ungla, inkhat le inkhat inuoina dônin inlungkham inlômin om roi.
Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:
9 Saloi hah saloiin thuon no ungla, khomâksâm hah khomâksâmin thuon no roi; manêkin satvurnân thuon roi, asikchu Pathien'n nangni a koi lâia han sat nangni vur rangin kêng ânkhâm.
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
10 Pathien lekhabu'n; “Tukhom ahoitaka ringna mang anuom le zora sa ngei mu a nuomin chu chongsie ril mâkin milak tho mong rese.
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
11 Sietna renga inheiin asa an sin ngêt rang ani; Inngêina rangin an mulungrîl murdi'n an putrît ngêt rang ani.
Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
12 Asikchu Pumapa'n midik ngei chu a ensuia male an chubaithona khom a rangâi pe ngei ngâi. Aniatachu, saloi sin ngei chu adoi ngâi,” ai ti anghan.
For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.
13 Asa sin rang nin jôta anin chu tumo dûk nangni tho ranga?
And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
14 Hannirese asa nin sin sikin chu tuong ta ngân khom ungla, satvur nin ni. Tute chi no ungla, nin kângmindoi no roi.
But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
15 Aniatachu, Khrista hah nin mulungrîla mân inthiengin Pumapa mirit tho roi. Male tukhomin nin sabeina chungroia chong nangni an rekelin zoratin thuon rangin inthok titin om roi,
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
16 nikhomrese, innêmtak le miritin thuon roi. Asielesarietna inthâr nei ungla, hanchu nangni an êrona tienga han, Khrista nûkjûi ngei nin nina nin nunchan asa rilsiet ngei hah an chong ti han inzak an tih.
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
17 Saloi sin sika tuong nêkin chu Pathien nuomlam anîn chu asa sin sika tuong chu asa uol.
For [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
18 Asikchu Pathien kôm nangni a tuong theina rangin Khrista midik han nunsiengei murdi ruthûlin minunsie ngei sikin voikhatin ai thi ani. Taksatieng thatin a oma, hannirese rathatieng chu minringin a oma,
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 ma ratha hong om sika han intâng ina ratha omngei kôm khom chong a juong misîr ani.
By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Ma ratha ngei hah Noah nikhuoa rukuong a sin lâia Pathien'n tuongdiertaka a ngâk sûnga chongjôm nuomloi hah an ni. Ma rukuonga han mi tômte, anrêngin mi iriet vai tui renga minringin an om ani.
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 Maha chu baptisma akhîn minenna ania, atûna hin Jisua Khrista inthoinôkna sikin nangni a minring ani. Ma hah takpuma ânnim minsâina ni maka, asaleasierietna diktak Pathien kôma chongkhâm hah ani.
The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, ) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Jisua Khrista hah invâna a sea, Pathien changtienga insungin vântîrtonngei, rachamneinangei le sinthotheinangei, ama racham takin a jêk zoi ani.
Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
