< Luka 23 >

1 Bhemelela obungano gwonti, bhatwala hwa Pilato.
The whole company of them rose up and brought him before Pilate [Armed with javelin].
2 Bhandile hutake, bhayanga, “Tilolile ono natezya itaifa lyetu na bhazubhile abhantu bhagaje hupele Okaisari, esonga ayanjile eyaje omwhale yoyo ni Klisiti, Mwene.”
They began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man perverting the nation, forbidding paying taxes to Caesar [Ruler], and saying that he himself is Messiah [Anointed one], a king.”
3 Pilato wabhozya, wayanga, “Awe wewe omwene Owayahudi?” Wagalula wabhabhola, “Awe wayanga.”
Pilate [Armed with javelin] asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews [Praisers]?” He answered him, “So you say.”
4 Pilato wabhola agosi abhemakohani na mabungono, “Sendilola izu lyalili libhibhi hwa mntu ono”.
Pilate [Armed with javelin] said to the chief priests and the multitudes, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”
5 Wape bhahwikazile sana, bhayanga, “Abhasonje sonje abhantu, amanyizyaga evyahudi yonti, afume Galilaya mpaka ohu.”
But they insisted, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea [Praise], beginning from Galilee [District, Circuit] even to this place.”
6 U Pilato nawovwa ego abhozyezye nkashele ono mntu wa Hugalilaya?
But when Pilate [Armed with javelin] heard Galilee [District, Circuit] mentioned, he asked if the man was a Galilean.
7 Na apete enongwa eyaje alichini wa Herode, atwalile wa Herode, afwanaje omwahale wape ahali hu Yerusalemu ensiku ezyo.
When he found out that he was in Herod [Heroic]’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod [Heroic], who was also in Jerusalem [City of peace] during those days.
8 Na Herode nalolile u Yesu ashimile tee afwanaje ali ahwanza tee hulole afume ensiku nyinji. Afwane nesho ayovwezye enongwe zyakwe, wasobhela alole ishala yebhambilwe nomwahale.
Now when Herod [Heroic] saw Yeshua [Salvation], he was exceedingly glad, for he had wanted to see him for a long time, because he had heard many things about him. He hoped to see some miracle done by him.
9 Wabhozya enongwa nyinji omwahale sewagalulo lyalyonti.
He questioned him with many words, but he gave no answers.
10 Agosi abhemakuhani na simbi bhimelela bhataka humaha gonti.
The chief priests and the Torah-Teachers stood, vehemently accusing him.
11 Basi Herode wabhombo lema, pandwemo na sikali bhakwe, wasolanya na wakwalizye amenda amenza, esho wawezye hwa Pilato.
Herod [Heroic] with his soldiers humiliated him and mocked him. Dressing him in luxurious clothing, they sent him back to Pilate [Armed with javelin].
12 Basi isiku lila Herode na Pilato bhakonde ne abhe lafiki afwanaje epo ahwanda bhali bhavisenye bhebho hwe bhebho.
Herod [Heroic] and Pilate [Armed with javelin] became friends with each other that very day, for before that they were enemies with each other.
13 Na Pilato wabhatanya agosi wa makuhani na gosi na bhantu,
Pilate [Armed with javelin] called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 Wabhola, “Mntu ono mletile hwiline nensheje atezyo abhantu nane enyaa, enamuye amambo gakwe hwitagalila lyenyu, ka sendilolile hwamwahale ikosa lyalyonti katika enongwa zya mtakile.
and said to them, “You brought this man to me as one that perverts the people, and see, I have examined him before you, and found no basis for a charge against this man concerning those things of which you accuse him.
15 Wala, hata o Herode, nkashile awezizye hwilite basi enyua, sagalilole enongwa yayonti lyabhombile lyali hwanziwa aje afwanje.
Neither has Herod [Heroic], for I sent you to him, and see, nothing worthy of death has been done by him.
16 Esho basi embahuwelele nahumwalule.
I will therefore chastise him and release him.”
17 (Esho, Pilato yukazimisizye humwaulile ofungwa omo isiku elye esikulukulu).
Now he had to release one prisoner to them at the feast.
18 Bhahwaga ibwago wonti pandwemo bhayanga, “Mwefwe ono, otuulile o Baraba!”
But they all cried out together, saying, “Away with this man! Release to us Bar-Abba [Son Father]!”—
19 Wape mntu watagwelwe mwijele kwaji fitina efumile hwiboma, kwajili yengoga.
one who was thrown into prison for a certain revolt in the city, and for murder.
20 Basi Pilato wayanga nabho mala habhele hushila shanzaga humwaulile u Yesu.
Then Pilate [Armed with javelin] spoke to them again, wanting to release Yeshua [Salvation],
21 Lelo bhabwaga ibwago, bhayanga, “Msulubishe, msulubishe.”
but they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify him!”
22 Wabhola emala eyatatu, afwane wele, ono abhombile mabhibhi wele, sendolile hwamwahale enongwa zyazihwanziwa aje afwe, basi nkashele na welela embahumwaile.”
He said to them the third time, “Why? What evil has this man done? I have found no capital crime in him. I will therefore chastise him and release him.”
23 Lelo bhafumia amazu hunguvu zyonti, bhabhabha asulubiwe. Amazu gabho gamena.
But they were urgent with loud voices, asking that he might be put to death on the stake. Their voices and the voices of the chief priests prevailed.
24 Pilato walonga aje gabhahwunza gubhombeshe.
Pilate [Armed with javelin] decreed that what they asked for should be done.
25 Wamwaula ola yabhatajile mwisela kwajili eyefilina nu negoga, ola yabhamwanzaga wafumia o Yesu bhabhombele shabhahwanza.
He released him who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, but he delivered Yeshua [Salvation] up to their will.
26 Nabhalai bhahusogotya, bhakhatu omntu omo, o Simoni Omkirene, ali afumile hugonda bhalweha ikhobhanyo aweje hwikhosi lyakwe u Yesu.
When they led him away, they grabbed one Simeon [Hearing] of Cyrene, coming from the country, and laid on him the execution-stake, to carry it after Yeshua [Salvation].
27 Obungano ogosi owabhantu bhalondolela na bhashe bhabhali bhahikhoma evifubha na huzundelele.
A great multitude of the people followed him, including women who also mourned and lamented him.
28 U Yesu wabhagulushila wayanga amwe mwalendu abhahu Yerusalemu, msuhandilele ane, shwililasi enafsi zyenu na bhana bhenyu.
But Yeshua [Salvation], turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem [City of peace], don’t weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
29 Eshi, enyi ensiku zihwenze nabhayinga hafu bhabhuli bhagumba nufyanda vyao vyase vipapa na mabhelo ga segahwosya.
For behold, the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.’
30 Esho nabhayanda agabhozye amagamba tigweleli notugamba tigubekayi.
Then they will begin to tell the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’ and tell the hills, ‘Cover us.’
31 Afwanaje nkashile bhabhomba amambo ega hwikwi ilyoro, ebhabhe wele hwilyo?”
For if they do these things in the green tree, what will be done in the dry?”
32 Bhatwala bhabhele abhamwabho abhe makasa bhabudwe pandwemo nuwo.
There were also others, two criminals, led with him to be put to death.
33 Nabhafishile pamopame papa kwiziwa Fuvu litwe, epo pasulubisizye omwahale panda wemo ba bhemakosa omo oupande owendelo omo opande omongo.
When they came to the place that is called The Skull, they nailed him to a stake; and they nailed the criminals to stakes, one on the right and the other on the left.
34 U Yesu waga, “Baba, ubhasajile afwanaje sebhemenge lyabhabhomba bhagabhanya amenda gakwe, bhakhoma ekora.
Yeshua [Salvation] said, “Abba ·Father familiar, Dear Dad·, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” They divided up his clothes by casting lots.
35 Abhantu bhemelela bhenye bhala agosi bhape bhabhombela ezalau, bhayanga, “Ahauye abhanje. Ahwiyu ule yoyo nkashile yu Klisiti owa Ngolobhe oteule wakwe.”
The people stood watching. The rulers with them also scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others. Let him save himself, if this is the Messiah [Anointed one] of God, his chosen one!”
36 Bhala asikali bhape bhazalale bhabhalila nu huletele esiki,
The soldiers also mocked him, coming to him and offering him vinegar,
37 ohu bhayanga nkashile awe oli mwene owa yahudi, hwiyaule umwene”
and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews [Praisers], save yourself!”
38 Pamwanya yakwe pali amandishi, “ONO NDIYO MWENE WA MWENE WAYAHUDI.”
An inscription was also written over him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew [Immigrant]: “This Is The King of The Jews [Praisers].”
39 Nomo owabhala owikosa yabhakhomeleye aujile, wayanga, “Eshi awe sagawe Klisiti? Hwiyaule enafsi yuho nute.”
One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying, “If you are the Messiah [Anointed one], save yourself and us!”
40 Lelo ula owabhele wagalula waidamila wayanga, “Awe sohwumwogopa hata Ongolobhe, nawe olimundongo zyezyo?
But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Don’t you even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?
41 Gape gelyoli hwaliti atee, afwanaje tipewa oshahara gwetu, gwaguhwanziwa humamba getu. Eshi ono sabhombile lyalyonti lyasaga ufaa.”
And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Basi wayanga, “Yesu, onizushe nawayinjila humwene waho.”
He said to Yeshua [Salvation], “Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
43 U Yesu wabhola, “Eteha, ehubhola, sanyono eshi onzubha pandwemo nane Paradiso.”
Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise, (the righteous side of Sheol).”
44 Epo yuli efishile esala eya saa sita, yabha nkisi juu ya pasi ponti hadi saa tisa,
It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three o'clock in the afternoon.
45 esanya lipongoshe okhozyo lwakwe, elyenda elye shibhanza lyazembuha paha.
The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.
46 U Yesu walila hwizu igosi, wayanga, “Baba makhono gaho, enjibheha eroho yane,” Na wamala ayanje ego wadumula eroho.
Yeshua [Salvation], crying with a loud voice, said, “Abba ·Father familiar, Dear Dad·, into your hands I commit my spirit!” Having said this, he breathed his last.
47 Ula Oakida nuwalula gagafumie atukuzizye Ongolobhe, wayanga, “Lyoli omntu ono aliwelyoli.”
When the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a upright man.”
48 Na mubungano gonti ega bhantu bhabhali bhabhungene ahwenye amambo ego nabhalolile gagabhombeshe bhabhala amwabho bhahwi khoma khoma evifubha.
All the multitudes that came together to see this, when they saw the things that were done, teshuvah ·completely returned· home beating their breasts.
49 Nabhonti bhamanye nawo na bhala abhashe bhalongozenye nawo afume Hugalilaya, bhemelela sahutuli, bhahwenga amambo ego.
All his acquaintances, and the women who followed with him from Galilee [District, Circuit], stood at a distance, watching these things.
50 Na enya wafumila omntu omo itawa lyakwe yo Yusufu, ambaye mntu wa hwikolo ti, omntu, omwinza owe lyoli,
Behold, a man named Joseph [May he add], who was a member of the council, a good and upright man
51 (Wala saga alyeteshe ishauli lyabho), wape mntu wa Armathaya, iboma elya yahudi, antele awenyelezya umwene owa Ngolobhe.
(he had not consented to their counsel and deed), from Arimathaea, a city of the Jews [Praisers], who was also waiting for God’s Kingdom:
52 Omntu oyo abhalile huwa Pilato, ahanzaga apewa obele gwa Yesu.
this man went to Pilate [Armed with javelin], and asked for Yeshua's [Salvation]'s body.
53 Wagwisya wagubwenesya esanda yakitani waubhaha mwakaburi lyalibenwe paka pansi, lyelyali sabhe hwelwe omntu mhati yakwe.
He took it down, and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb that was cut in stone, where no one had ever been laid.
54 Na isiku lila lyali lisiku elye mandalizi, elyatoye lyanda ahwinjile.
It was the Preparation Day (Nissan 14), and the festival Sabbath ·To cease· was drawing near.
55 Nabhala abhashe, bhahenzele nawo afume Hugalilaya bhalondoleye, bhayilola inkongwa na bele gwakwe sagwabhehwelwe.
The women, who had come with him out of Galilee [District, Circuit], followed after, and saw the tomb, and how his body was laid.
56 Bhawela bhabhomba tayali anukato na marashi. Ni siku elyatoye bhamile neshi shabhamuye.
They teshuvah ·completely returned·, and prepared spices and ointments. On the double Shabbatot ·To cease· (Nissan 15 and 16) they rested according to the commandment.
