К Римлянам 13
1 Всякая душа да будет покорна высшим властям, ибо нет власти не от Бога; существующие же власти от Бога установлены.
Let every one submit to the authorities that are over him; for there is no authority which is not from God: and the authorities which exist have been ordained by God.
2 Посему противящийся власти противится Божию установлению. А противящиеся сами навлекут на себя осуждение.
He therefore that setteth himself against the authority resisteth what God hath ordained; and they a who resist will bring upon themselves judgment.
3 Ибо начальствующие страшны не для добрых дел, но для злых. Хочешь ли не бояться власти? Делай добро, и получишь похвалу от нее,
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wouldst thou then not be afraid of the government? Do that which is good, and thou wilt have praise from it;
4 ибо начальник есть Божий слуга, тебе на добро. Если же делаешь зло, бойся, ибо он не напрасно носит меч: он Божий слуга, отмститель в наказание делающему злое.
for the ruler is God's servant to thee for good. But if thou doest evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain; for he is God's servant, an avenger to inflict wrath upon him that doeth evil.
5 И потому надобно повиноваться не только из страха наказания, но и по совести.
It is necessary therefore to submit, not only because of the wrath, but also for your conscience' sake.
6 Для сего вы и подати платите, ибо они Божии служители, сим самым постоянно занятые.
For the same reason pay tribute also; for they are ministers of God, attending continually to this very business.
7 Итак отдавайте всякому должное: кому подать, подать; кому оброк, оброк; кому страх, страх; кому честь, честь.
Render to all what is due to them; tribute, to whom tribute is due; custom, to whom custom; fear, to whom fear; honor, to whom honor.
8 Не оставайтесь должными никому ничем, кроме взаимной любви; ибо любящий другого исполнил закон.
Owe no one anything but brotherly love; for he that loveth others hath fulfilled the Law.
9 Ибо заповеди не прелюбодействуй, не убивай, не кради, не лжесвидетельствуй, не пожелай чужого и все другие заключаются в сем слове: люби ближнего твоего, как самого себя.
For these, “Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not covet,” and every other commandment, are summed up in this precept, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”
10 Любовь не делает ближнему зла; итак любовь есть исполнение закона.
Love worketh no ill to one's neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the Law.
11 Так поступайте, зная время, что наступил уже час пробудиться нам от сна. Ибо ныне ближе к нам спасение, нежели когда мы уверовали.
And this, since we know the time, that it is already high time for us to awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we became believers.
12 Ночь прошла, а день приблизился: итак отвергнем дела тьмы и облечемся в оружия света.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand; let us then throw off the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light.
13 Как днем, будем вести себя благочинно, не предаваясь ни пированиям и пьянству, ни сладострастию и распутству, ни ссорам и зависти;
Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in lewdness and wantonness, not in strife and envy;
14 но облекитесь в Господа нашего Иисуса Христа и попечения о плоти не превращайте в похоти.
but clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and think not about satisfying the lusts of the flesh.
