< Titus 2 >

1 Te Titus, ho afiꞌ dadꞌi onaꞌ se, e! Musi huhuar atahori ra fo rasodꞌa tungga Lamatuaꞌ nenori ndoo-tetun.
Do you, however, speak of such subjects as properly have a place in sound Christian teaching.
2 Mufadꞌe ama-ama lasiꞌ ra, fo rasodꞌa tungga hohoro-lalaneꞌ ra, ranea nara malole nara, rasodꞌa no matu-matu. Musi toꞌu rahereꞌ ma raꞌatataaꞌ tungga Lamatualain nenori ndoo-tetun. Ara musi sue atahori feaꞌ ra boe.
Teach that the older men should be temperate, serious, and discreet; strong in faith, love, and endurance.
Te musi ranori atahori ra fo rasodꞌa no maloleꞌ.
So, too, that the older women should be reverent in their demeanour, and that they should avoid scandal, and beware of becoming slaves to drink;
4 No taꞌo naa, ranori ma ratudꞌu dꞌala maloleꞌ fee ina-ina soruꞌ ra, fo ara sue sao-ana nara boe.
that they should teach what is right, so as to train the younger women to love their husbands and children,
5 Ara musi ranori se fo rasodꞌa no matu-matu, afiꞌ tao leli, ralalau rahine ume nara no maloleꞌ, fee hadꞌat neu sao nara, ma fee sao nara dadꞌi malangga umeloo nara.
and to be discreet, pure-minded, domesticated, good women, ready to submit to their husbands, in order that God’s Message may not be maligned.
6 Onaꞌ naa boe, munori mone-tenaꞌ ra, fo rasodꞌa no matu-matu boe.
And so again with the younger men — impress upon them the need of discretion.
7 Titus! Musi musodꞌa malolole, fo dadꞌi dꞌala maloleꞌ soaꞌ neu atahori feaꞌ ra boe. Tao saa na, musi tao no ndoo-tetuꞌ, tungga nenorim neu atahori ra. Afiꞌ muꞌumiminaꞌ mo ue-tatao mara.
Above all, set an example of doing good. Show sincerity in your teaching, and a serious spirit;
8 Munori atahori, na, musi munori mendiꞌ netehu manggateeꞌ, fo atahori nda hambu dalaꞌ fo olaꞌ raꞌatutudꞌaꞌ nggo sa. No taꞌo naa, atahori mana labꞌan hitaꞌ ra mae ao nara reuꞌ ena, huu nda raꞌena netehuuꞌ fo labꞌan hita sa.
let the instruction that you give be sound and above reproach, so that the enemy may be ashamed when he fails to find anything bad to say about us.
Afiꞌ rareresi ro malangga nara boe.
Urge slaves to be submissive to their owners in all circumstances, and to try their best to please them.
10 Afi ramanaꞌo malangga nara sudꞌi a saa nara. Musi ratudꞌu, fo malangga nara bisa ramahere se no tebꞌe-tebꞌeꞌ. Sira, musi dadꞌi atahori maloleꞌ ma raꞌatataaꞌ. Mete ma atahori dꞌeaꞌ ra raꞌasasamaꞌ ate ra masodꞌa nara onaꞌ naa ro basa hita tanoriꞌ ra, na, ara duꞌa rae, nenoriꞌ soꞌal Lamatualain, mana fee masodꞌaꞌ neu hita, naa manaseliꞌ.
Teach them not to contradict or to pilfer, but to show such praiseworthy fidelity in everything, as to recommend the teaching about God our Saviour by all that they do.
11 Lamatualain natudꞌu rala malolen neu basa atahori, ma soi dꞌala masodꞌaꞌ soaꞌ neu atahori sala-kilu nara.
For the loving-kindness of God has been revealed, bringing Salvation for all;
Tasodꞌa sia raefafoꞌ ia, musi taꞌatataaꞌ tala ao tara, tasodꞌa meumareꞌ, ma tungga Lamatualain losa babꞌasan. (aiōn g165)
leading us to renounce irreligious ways and worldly ambitions, and to live discreet, upright, and religious lives here in this present world, (aiōn g165)
13 Aleꞌ ia tamahena neu Yesus Kristus neneman no mandela-masaan! Naa dadꞌi papala-babꞌanggiꞌ neu basa nggita. Eni, hita Lamatua manaselin, fo mana fee nggita masodꞌaꞌ.
while we are awaiting our Blessed Hope — the Appearing in glory of our great God and Saviour, Christ Jesus.
14 Ana fee Aon dadꞌi tutunu-hohotuꞌ fo mboꞌi hendi hita mia basa sala-kilu tara, fo tao nggita dadꞌi atahorin mana nasodꞌa no rala meumareꞌ, ma mana hii taoꞌ a maloleꞌ ra boe.
For he gave himself on our behalf, to deliver us from all wickedness, and to purify for himself a People who should be peculiarly his own and eager to do good.
15 De Titus, munori basa ia ra neu jamaꞌat ra. Atahori nda bole raloe-radꞌae nggo, huu muꞌena hak tao basa naa ra.
Speak of all this, and encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let any one despise you.
