< Roma 9 >
1 Hita fo mana nenefutu-paꞌaꞌ to Kristus, olaꞌ tetebꞌes. Dadꞌi au nda olaꞌ peko-lelekoꞌ neu nggi sa. Au rala ngga nafadꞌe au nae, Lamatuaꞌ Dula-dalen mana nalalao rala ngga.
I am speaking the truth in Christ, it is no lie. My conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit that I have deep sorrow
2 Au ufadꞌe taꞌo ia: rala ngga susa-sona.
and incessant anguish in my heart.
For I was on the point of praying to be accursed from Christ on behalf of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh.
4 Tao-tao te sira, atahori Israꞌel, naeni nusaꞌ esa mana onton seli. Lamatuaꞌ soꞌu nala se dadꞌi eni ana nara eniꞌ a lele uluꞌ a. Ana natudꞌu koasan manaseliꞌ neu se. Ana hengge-nee hehelu-fufuliꞌ mataꞌ-mataꞌ no se. Ana fee hohoro-lalanen neu se. Sira mana rahineꞌ beꞌutee neu E, ma tao ues fee neu E. Ana helu-fuli nae natudꞌu rala malolen neu se.
For they are Israelites; to them belong the sonship, the Shekinah glory, the covenants, the giving of the Law; the service of the temple, and the promises;
5 Sira laoꞌ mia bei-baꞌi tara, naeni: baꞌi Abraham, baꞌi Isak, ma baꞌi Yakob (atahori haꞌi naraꞌ ‘Israꞌel’ mia e). Ma Kristus, fo Lamatuaꞌ helu-fuli memaꞌ mia lele uluꞌ a fo nae haitua nemaꞌ naa, laoꞌ mia hita nusa Yahudi ra bei-baꞌi tara. Kristus naa o, naeni Lamatualain mana parenda basa-bꞌasaꞌ e. Dadꞌi nandaa mete ma soꞌu rananaru E losa doo nduꞌu-dꞌoon neu. Tebꞌe! (aiōn )
theirs are the patriarchs, and of them, as concerning the flesh, is Christ, who is over all, God, blessed forever, Amen. (aiōn )
6 Onaꞌ mae atahori Israꞌel hetar nda feꞌe simbo Kristus sa, te atahori nda bisa olaꞌ rae, Lamatuaꞌ hehelu-fufulin naa nda dadꞌi sa. Ma afiꞌ duꞌa mae, basa atahori mana laoꞌ mia bei-baꞌi Israꞌel naa, dadꞌi nusa Israꞌel fo Lamatuaꞌ tengga nala dadꞌi Eni atahorin.
It is not, however, as though God’s word had failed! For they are not all Israel who have sprung from Israel;
7 Conto onaꞌ, atahori hetar laoꞌ mia bei-baꞌi tara, baꞌi Abraham. Huu Lamatuaꞌ nafadꞌe basa Abraham nae, “Tititi-nonosim fo au uhineꞌ ra, akaꞌ mana laoꞌ mia Isak ana nara.”
they are not all children of Abraham because they are Abraham’s descendants. The promise was, In Isaac shall thy posterity be called.
8 Sosoan nae, mia maꞌahulun losa oras ia, nda basa tititi-nonosiꞌ mana laoꞌ mia hita atahori Yahudi ra baꞌin Abraham, dadꞌi Lamatualain ana nara. Akaꞌ tititi-nonosin mana laoꞌ mia Lamatuaꞌ hehelu-fufulin fee neu Abraham, fo Lamatuaꞌ reken se dadꞌi eni ana matetu nara.
That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as his posterity.
9 Huu Lamatuaꞌ hengge-nee hehelu-fufuliꞌ nae, “Mbei ma too mana nemaꞌ ia, Au baliꞌ uma. Leleꞌ naa, sao ma Sara bꞌonggi ana touꞌ sa ena.”
For thus is the word of promise, According to this season I will come, and Sarah shall bear a son.
10 Nda taꞌoꞌ a naa sa. Huu hita baꞌi Isak na no saon Ribka bonggi rala ana duaꞌ ra.
And not only so, but when Rebecca was pregnant by our forefather Isaac, though one man was the father of both children,
Mae taꞌo naa o, Lamatuaꞌ nafadꞌe memaꞌ soꞌal Ribka ana duaꞌ mana dea neu naꞌahulu a nae, “Dei fo aꞌa ka tao ues fee odꞌin.” Lamatuaꞌ nafadꞌe taꞌo naa, fo natudꞌu nae, mete ma Eni tengga nala atahori esa ena, Eni nahine nae pake atahori na fo tao taꞌo bee. De Lamatuaꞌ tengga nala odꞌi ka fo dꞌadi atahorin. Ana nda parlu nahati fo mete sobꞌa odꞌi ka nae tao taꞌo bee sa boe, huu Lamatua nahine memaꞌ ena.
and even though they were still unborn, and had done nothing either good or bad, in order that the purpose of God might stand according to election, not of works, but of Him who called,
it was said to her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13 Huu Lamatuaꞌ olaꞌ sia Susura Meumaren soꞌal ana duaꞌ naa ra nae, Au tengga ala Yakob, te au nda simbo Esau sa.”
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14 Dadꞌi ata feꞌe tae saa fai? Mbei ma hambu ruma rae, “Lamatuaꞌ nda naꞌetuꞌ dedꞌeat no matetuꞌ sa, do?” Nda bisa sa!
What shall we say then? that there is injustice with God? No indeed.
15 Huu mia lele uluꞌ a Lamatualain nafadꞌe neu baꞌi Musa nae, “Au utudꞌu susue ngga neu atahori fo Au tengga alaꞌ ra. Ma Au kasian neu atahori fo Au dudꞌu ao ngga.”
His words to Moses are. I will have mercy on whom I choose to have mercy; I will have compassion on whom I choose to have compassion.
So then it is not a question of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy.
17 Huu sia Susura Meumareꞌ a, Lamatuaꞌ olaꞌ no mane Masir nae, “Au soꞌu nggo dadꞌi maneꞌ, huu Au ae pake koasa ngga fo labꞌan nggo fo atahori hetar rita. No taꞌo naa, basa atahori sia raefafoꞌ ia soꞌu rananaru Au nara ngga.”
For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, It is for this very purpose that I have raised you up, To show in you my power, And to proclaim my name far and wide, in all the earth.
So then he has mercy on whom he will, and whom he will, he hardens.
19 Naa! Mete ma hambu atahori nda simbo au rae, “Mete ma taꞌo naa, Lamatuaꞌ nae tao dalaꞌ esa, seka bisa labꞌan E? Nda hambu sa, to? Dadꞌi, taꞌo bee fo Eni nae mbia salaꞌ neu nggita? Naa nda matetuꞌ sa!”
Then you will say to me. "Why does he still go on finding fault? Who can withstand his will?"
20 Mete ma hambu ruma duꞌa taꞌo naa, na au utaa, taꞌo ia: “Duꞌa mae ho ia, seka?! Ho mae olaꞌ labꞌan Lamatuaꞌ, do?”
"Nay, but who are you, O man, that replies to God? Shall the thing formed say unto him who formed it, "Why did you do me like this?"
21 Conto Onaꞌ mana tao huraꞌ. Mia rae huraꞌ bubꞌueꞌ esa, ana naꞌena hak fo nae tao nggusi makahahadꞌok esa fo atahori koa e. Ana o naꞌena hak pake rae bubꞌueꞌ naa fo tao neu mamana manggarauꞌ, tunggaꞌ a eni hihii-nanaun.
Or has not the potter power over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for noble, and another for ignoble uses?
22 Onaꞌ naa boe Lamatualain.
But what if God, while intending to show forth his wrath, and to make known his power, yet endured, with much long-suffering, vessels of wrath, fitted to destruction?
23 Ana tao taꞌo naa, fo nae natudꞌu neu atahori hetar oi, Eni nae natudꞌu susue lalain neu atahori ruma. Sira, fo Ana tengga nala memaꞌ, fo nae soꞌu nananaru se. Ma Ana nau atahori bubꞌuluꞌ rae, Eni mesaꞌ ne manaseliꞌ.
And what if he thus purposed to make known the riches of his glory upon vessels of mercy, which he had before prepared for glory?
24 Huu hita ia ra, fo Ana tengga memaꞌ dadꞌi atahori nara. Hita ia ra, ruma mia atahori Yahudi, boe ma ruma mia nusa feaꞌ ra.
Now such are we whom he has called, not only from among the Jews, but also from among the Gentiles.
25 Feꞌesaꞌan, Lamatuaꞌ pake mana ola-olan Hosea, fo suraꞌ soꞌal atahori nda Yahudi ra oi, Hambu atahori ruma dalahulun nda Au atahori ngga sa, te Au ae oꞌe se ae, “Hei, Au atahori nggara,’ Ma hambu nusa fo dalahulun Au nda sue sa, te Au ae oꞌe se ae, ‘Hei, nusaꞌ fo Au sueꞌ a.’”
As he also said in Hosea. Those who were not my people I will call "my people," And her "beloved" who was not beloved;
26 Ana o suraꞌ oi, “Sia naa, Sia mamanaꞌ fo Lamatuaꞌ nafadꞌe neu se oi, Hei, nda dadꞌi Au atahori ngga sa!’ Dei fo Lamatuaꞌ mana masodꞌaꞌ a nae nafadꞌe nggi nae, ‘Ia naa, hei dadꞌi Au ana nggara ena!’” Ana olaꞌ taꞌo naa, huu Ana kasian atahori nda Yahudi ra sa.
And in that very spot where it was told them, "You are not my people," There they shall be called "Sons of the living God."
27 Lamatuaꞌ mana ola-olan laen, naeni Yesaya, olaꞌ nita soꞌal nusa Israꞌel ra leleo-lalao nara nae, “Onaꞌ mae atahori Israꞌel ra dadꞌi naen seli, onaꞌ saraꞌaeꞌ sia tasi suun, te dei fo Lamatuaꞌ fee masodꞌaꞌ neuꞌ a sira hidꞌaꞌ a, mia sala-kilu nara.
And in regard to Israel, Isaiah exclaims. Though the number of the sons of Israel be like the sands of the sea, it is but a remnant of those who shall be saved;
28 Te dei fo losa fai neneman, fo Lamatuaꞌ naꞌetuꞌ dedꞌeat fee basa atahori sia ndule raefafoꞌ ia, onaꞌ Ana nafadꞌe memaꞌ ena. Te Ana nda nahati sa, Huu Ana tao nabasaꞌ no lai-lai!”
for the Lord will execute his word upon the earth, finishing it and cutting it short.
29 Dalahulun, Yesaya nafadꞌe soꞌal atahori Yahudi nae, “Hita onton, huu Lamatuaꞌ mana naꞌena koasa manaseliꞌ, hela hita tititi-nonosi tara ruma hambu masodꞌaꞌ. Huu mete ma nda taꞌo naa saa, na, basa hendi hita ena, onaꞌ atahori kota Sodꞌom no kota Gomora ra.”
Even as in an earlier passage, Isaiah says, Except the Lord of Sabbath had us some few descendants, we should have become like Sodom, and should have fared like Gomorrah.
30 Dadꞌi ata feꞌe tae saa fai? Olaꞌ tae, atahori nda Yahudi ra mia bee-bꞌee, fo dꞌalahulun nda sangga fo rae maloleꞌ ro Lamatuaꞌ sa, ia naa maloleꞌ ro E ena, huu ramahere neu Yesus Kristus.
What then shall we say? That Gentiles who never pursed righteousness have overtaken it, even the righteousness of faith?
31 Tao-tao te atahori Israꞌel ra, sobꞌa tao tungga Musa hohoro-lalanen fo ara bisa malolole ro Lamatuaꞌ, te nda dadꞌi maloleꞌ ro E sa.
But that the descendants of Israel, who were in pursuit of a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law?
Huu ara nau tao tungga akaꞌ a hohoro-lalaneꞌ naa, fo Ana simbo sira ona atahori rala ndoos, te ara nda ramahere neu Yesus Kristus sa. Dadꞌi onaꞌ ara raꞌatunu dai “fatu neꞌetunus”. Ia fo Lamatuaꞌ Susura Meumaren sosoan nae, “Mete ia dei! Te Au tao Atahori esa sia lete Sion, sia kota Yerusalem. Atahori naa onaꞌ fatu esa, mana tao atahori raꞌatunu. Te seka namahere neu E, na, afiꞌ mae.” Fatu naa, naeni Yesus. Te atahori Israꞌel ra nda simbo E sa. Naa onaꞌ ara raꞌatunu, boe ma raꞌaloli huu fatu naa.
And why? Because they sought it not by faith, but thought to gain it by works. They stumbled at the stone of stumbling;
even as it is written. Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense; but he that believes on Him shall not be put to shame.
