< Roma 13 >
1 Basa atahori musi rena neu atahori mana toꞌu parendaꞌ ra. Huu sira raꞌena hak no koasa fo parenda atahori.
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.
2 Dadꞌi mete ma atahori labꞌan atahori mana toꞌu parendaꞌ taꞌo naa, naa onaꞌ ara labꞌan saa fo Lamatuaꞌ soꞌuꞌ a ena.
Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.
Dadꞌi minea aom fo tao ndoo-tetuꞌ, fo sudꞌi mimitau se fai. Ma mete ma hei tao taꞌo naa, na, dei fo ara koa nggi.
For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the authority,
for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.
5 Naeni de hei musi rena neu atahori mana toꞌu parendaꞌ ra. Huu ama bubꞌuluꞌ sia rala mara mae, naa tebꞌe. Ma hei o bubꞌuluꞌ mae, Lamatuaꞌ namanasa mete ma hita nda tao ndoo-tetuꞌ a sa.
Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
6 Onaꞌ naa boe, hei musi bae bea mana neneneꞌetuꞌ enaꞌ, huu atahori mana toꞌu parendaꞌ ra ralalao Lamatuaꞌ ue-tataon.
For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, continually doing this very thing.
7 Dadꞌi hei musi bae basa e no matetuꞌ. Bae neu mana edꞌa bea ra, basa bea fo hei musi baeꞌ a. Fee hadꞌa-hormat neu basa atahori mana raꞌena hak simbo hadꞌa-hormat. Ma mete ma hambu atahori tao dꞌala maloleꞌ nakandooꞌ a na, soꞌu nara nara fo basa atahori bubꞌuluꞌ ara tao maloleꞌ.
Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
8 Bae muꞌetuꞌ huta-buku mara, fo afi musodꞌa moꞌ a huta-bukuꞌ. Huu hita tae tahuta siaꞌ a dalaꞌ esaꞌ a, naeni susue-lalaiꞌ a.
Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
9 Huu Hohoro-lalaneꞌ naa ra rae, “Afiꞌ hohongge; afiꞌ misa atahori; afiꞌ miminaꞌo; afi hiiꞌ a hambu atahori sudꞌiꞌ a saan,” ma laen ra fai. Mete ma nau tao tungga basa Hohoro-lalaneꞌ ra, musi tao tungga Hohoro-lalaneꞌ esa ia, mana nae, “Ho musi sue atahori laen ra, onaꞌ ho sue aom boe.”
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Dadꞌi mete ma ata tatudꞌu susueꞌ takandooꞌ a, hita bisa tao tungga basa Hohoro-lalaneꞌ mia Lamatuaꞌ.
Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
11 Lamatualain nae mboꞌi nggita mia atahori sia raefafoꞌ ia deꞌulaka nara. Ma leleꞌ ia, eni fain fo fee masodꞌaꞌ neu atahori, deka lenaꞌ mia leleꞌ ata feꞌe na tamahere neu Yesus Kristus. Naeni de, ata musi tasodꞌa no susueꞌ, huu tahine dalaꞌ naa ena. Onaꞌ feꞌesaꞌan naa, hita feꞌe mana sungguꞌ ra. Te leleꞌ ia, losa fain ena fo ata musi fela leo!
Do this, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awaken out of sleep, for salvation is now nearer to us than when we first believed.
12 Nda dooꞌ sa, te basa tetembaꞌ a ena, basa ma manggareloꞌ a losa boe. Dadꞌi malole lenaꞌ, ata taloeꞌ mia deꞌulaka tara leo. Te aleꞌ ia, ata musi dadꞌi onaꞌ soldꞌadꞌu mana pake tee-tande netatis, fo tahehere tao dꞌala maloleꞌ ra, onaꞌ atahori mana rasodꞌa sia manggareloꞌ a rala.
The night is far gone, and the day is near. Let’s therefore throw off the deeds of darkness, and let’s put on the armor of light.
13 Ata musi tasodꞌa no ndoo-tetuꞌ, fo basa atahori bisa rita nggita tao dꞌala maloleꞌ ra. Nda maloleꞌ sa, mete ma hita akaꞌ feta-dꞌote ma tinu mafu. Nda maloleꞌ sa, mete ma hita akaꞌ hohongge. Nda maloleꞌ sa, mete ma hita akaꞌ tatofa-tauuꞌ dii-onaꞌ. Ma nda maloleꞌ sa, mete ma hita akaꞌ horombala huu nda hii atahori maloleꞌ lena nggita sa.
Let’s walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.
14 Te malole lenaꞌ, hei mimihere tebꞌe-tebꞌe neu hita Lamatuan Yesus Kristus fo misifali baliꞌ rala mara fo dadꞌi onaꞌ E, fo Lamatuaꞌ haitua nemaꞌ a. Ma mete ma ho hiiꞌ a tao dꞌala nda ndoo-tetuꞌ ra sa, na, afiꞌ hela aom tunggaꞌ a hihii-nanaum mana tao leliꞌ a. Muꞌutataaꞌ aom!
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.
