< Yakobis 4 >

1 Hei akaꞌ mireresi ma mitofa esa no esa. Huu-patan sa? Naa dadꞌi, huu sia taladꞌa mara hambu atahori rae sangga nemehoꞌot soaꞌ neu ao nara
From where come wars and fightings among you? come they not from this, even from your lusts that war in your members?
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Te mae hei hule-oꞌe losa etu fatu hau ra o, hei nda hambu saa fo moꞌeꞌ a sa, huu moꞌe tunggaꞌ a hihii ao-sisi mara.
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Memaꞌ hei atahori nda mana maꞌatataaꞌ sa! hei onaꞌ atahori masaoꞌ ra esa ralan nda naꞌatataaꞌ no esa sa, de hohongge leli. Mete ma hei tunggaꞌ a raefafoꞌ ia hihii-nanaun, na, tao ao mara musu mo Lamatualain. Naa eni ena!
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 Naa de, Lamatualain Susura Meumaren suraꞌ nae, “Lamatuaꞌ fee Dula-dalen sia rala tara ena. Ma Dula-daleꞌ hihiin, fo taꞌatataaꞌ takandoo to E. Te huu, Ana horombala.”
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 Lenaꞌ fai, Lamatualain feꞌe nau fee tamba rala malolen. Naa de, Susura Meumareꞌ a, nae: “Lamatuaꞌ labꞌan atahori mana koaoꞌ ra, te natudꞌu rala malolen neu atahori mana raloe-radꞌae rala nara.”
But he giveth more grace. Therefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
7 Lamatuaꞌ naa, Malangga! Dadꞌi fee ao mara reu E, fo tungga hihiin. Ama afiꞌ tungga nitu ra malangga monaen hihii-nanaun. Labꞌan mihereꞌ e. No taꞌo naa, ana nela hela nggi.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Sangga dalaꞌ fo misodꞌa ralaꞌ esa mo Lamatualain. No taꞌo naa, Ana deka no nggi. Weh, mana masodꞌa sia sala kiluꞌ re! Ama musi tao mitetu dꞌala masodꞌa mara. Ma, rala mana banggi-bꞌanggiꞌ re! Ama musi laoꞌ no ndoos mo Lamatuaꞌ, afi dinggoꞌ dii-ona mi fai. Dꞌoo basa ia misodꞌa no nemehoꞌot ma kido-kedꞌeꞌ a. De miloeꞌ leo! Hei bubꞌuluꞌ rala mana banggi-bꞌanggi mara ma sala-kilu mara ena. Malole lenaꞌ fale rala mara ma nggae ei-ei leo.
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
11 Toronoo nggare! Afiꞌ olaꞌ miꞌimuti-miꞌimu esa no esa nara malolen. Te mete ma hei olaꞌ taꞌo naa, ma fee salaꞌ mikindooꞌ a neu atahori ra, hei milena-langga neu Lamatuaꞌ hohoro-lalanen mana oi, “Musi sue toronom, ona aom boe.” Mete ma hei nda tungga hohoro-lalaneꞌ naa sa, hei soꞌu minanaru ao mara lenaꞌ Lamatuaꞌ hohoro-lalanen.
Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judgest the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
13 Taꞌo ia! Hei, musi mihine ena fo afiꞌ olaꞌ mae, “Faiꞌ ia do mbila na, hai mae mi sia kota naa! Hai mae leo sia naa too esa. Hai mae danggan fo hambu bunaꞌ mbei!”
Come now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Ho bubꞌuluꞌ saa soꞌal fai mana nema ia ra? Nda hambu esa nahine masodꞌaꞌ ia nenendin sa. Atahori masodꞌan ona lumeꞌ sou, te aibꞌoiꞌ ma mopo neuꞌ ena.
Though ye know not what shall be to morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Instead of that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16 Te mete ma nda olaꞌ taꞌo naa sa, na, hei koa-kaaꞌ a. Naa ona hei liliiꞌ Lamatuaꞌ sia dudꞌuꞌa-afi mara. Naa sala monaeꞌ.
But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17 Misinedꞌa malolole!
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
