Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

With it we bless God our Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in God's likeness.
Out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, this ought not to be so.

Does a spring pour out fresh water and bitter water from the same opening?

13 Atahori dudꞌuꞌa malole ma nahine dalaꞌ tungga Lamatuaꞌ hihiin, nda bꞌole koa-bꞌoꞌu aon sa. Te ana bubꞌuluꞌ mahineꞌ naa mia Lamatuaꞌ. Hela fo natudꞌu mahinen, nendiꞌ masodꞌa ndoos na.
Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct he should show that his works are done with the gentleness that comes from wisdom.
14 Mete ma ralam mera fo akaꞌ, muꞌututudꞌaꞌ atahori ra, na, Afiꞌ oro-ara mae, ho atahori dudꞌuꞌa maloleꞌ. Naa onaꞌ ho mana peko-lelekoꞌ. Te nesodꞌa taꞌo naa, naa nda naran ‘dudꞌuꞌa maloleꞌ’ sa. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast or deny the truth.
This is not the wisdom that comes down from above; rather, it is earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.
16 Te mete ma hambu rala meraꞌ ma netofa-nehuuꞌ, na, hambu nemue-anggiꞌ, ma atahori tao deꞌulakaꞌ mataꞌ-mataꞌ.
For where there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice.
17 Te dudꞌuꞌa maloleꞌ mana onda mia Lamatuaꞌ naa, taꞌo ia: Fefeun ana tao nggita tasodꞌa meumareꞌ. Basa ma hita nda hii netofa sa, hita hii taloe ao tara, taꞌatataaꞌ ma neneeꞌ a. Nenendin tao rala tara malole, hii tulu-fali atahori, nda to heheliꞌ a esa sa, ma nda dea-mata to atahori laen ra sa.
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easily entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, and unhypocritical.
18 Ma atahori mana natudꞌu dꞌala dꞌame nenendin maloleꞌ boe. Naa onaꞌ atahori sela fini, de dodꞌoo ma hambu mbule-bꞌoa maloleꞌ.
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
