1 Leleꞌ naa touꞌ esa, nara na Ananias. Sao na, nara na Safira. Ara o raseo rae ombat esa.
There was, however, a man named Ananias, who, with his wife Sapphira, sold some property,

and, with her connivance, kept back some of the proceeds. He brought only a part and laid it at the Apostles’ feet.
3 Te Petrus ai e oi, “Woi! Ananias! Ho seli tebꞌe o! Taꞌo bee de muꞌufuniꞌ doi rae naa? Rala ma deꞌulakaꞌ seli ena, huu ho tungga nitu ra malangga na hihii-nanau na. Ho mumburani lelekoꞌ Lamatualain Dula-dale Meumare Na!
“Ananias,” Peter exclaimed, “how is it that Satan has so taken possession of your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit, and kept back a part of the money paid for the land?

While it was unsold, was not it your own? and after it was sold, was not the money at your own disposal? How did you come to think of such a thing? You have lied, not to men, but to God!”
5 Rena Petrus olaꞌ taꞌo naa boe, aiboiꞌ ma Ananias naꞌaloli, de mate neuꞌ ena. Basa atahori mana rena dudꞌuit naa, ramatau rae mate.
As Ananias heard these words, he fell down and expired; and every one who heard of it was appalled.

The young men got up, and, winding the body in a sheet, carried it out and buried it.

After an interval of about three hours his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.
8 Ma Petrus natane nae, “Taꞌo bee, inaꞌ? Inaꞌ se seo rae a feli na baꞌu ia, do?” Nataa nae, “Tebꞌe, Amaꞌ. Feli na baꞌu a naa ena.”
“Is it true,” Peter asked, addressing her, “that you sold your land for such a sum?” “Yes,” she answered, “we did.”

Then Peter said: “How did you come to agree to provoke the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The foot-steps of those who have buried your husband are at the door; and they will carry you out too.”

Instantly Sapphira fell down at Peter’s feet and expired. On coming in, the young men found her dead; so they carried her out and buried her by her husband’s side.
11 Basa atahori mana ramahere Yesus ra, ramatau. Ma basa atahori feaꞌ mana rena Ananias no Safira mamate na, ramatau boe.
The whole Church and all who heard of these events were appalled.
12 Leleꞌ naa, Yesus dedenu nara tao manadadꞌiꞌ naeꞌ seli, de atahori ra rita. Ara hii risiꞌ Ume Hule-Oꞌe Huuꞌ ma raꞌabꞌue ralaꞌ esa sia mane Soleman ume los na.
Many signs and wonders continued to occur among the people, through the instrumentality of the Apostles, whose custom it was to meet all together in the Colonnade of Solomon;

but of the rest no one ventured to join them. On the other hand, the people were full of their praise,

and still larger numbers, both of men and women, as they became believers in the Lord, were added to their number.
15 Leleꞌ naa dadꞌi onaꞌ naa, losa atahori ra rendi atahori mamahedꞌiꞌ ra, de tao neu neneiꞌ ata sia dalaꞌ suu na. Ara dudꞌuꞌa oi, “Wii! Mete ma Petrus no Yohanis laoꞌ tungga ia, mae akaꞌ a ruꞌa se salao na dai atahori mamahedꞌiꞌ ia ra o, ara hai.”
The consequence was that people would bring out their sick even into the streets, and lay them on mattresses and mats, in the hope that, as Peter came by, at least his shadow might fall on some one of them.

Besides this, the inhabitants of the towns round Jerusalem flocked into the city, bringing with them their sick and those who were troubled by foul spirits; and they were cured every one.
17 Leleꞌ naa, atahori mana tungga Lamatuaꞌ Yesus dedenu Nara, boe ramaheta. Naa de, malangga monaeꞌ mia agama Yahudi no nonoo nara mia partei Saduki, rambedꞌaꞌ rala.
At this the High Priest was roused to action, and he and all his supporters (who formed the party of the Sadducees), moved by jealousy,

arrested the Apostles, and had them placed in custody.
19 Te tembaꞌ neu boe, Lamatualain ate Na esa mia sorga nema nisiꞌ bui a, de soi lelesu a. Basa de no se dea reu. Ana denu se nae,
An angel of the Lord, however, opened the prison doors at night and led them out.
20 “Mii memaꞌ sia Ume Hule-Oꞌe Huuꞌ. Mifadꞌe basaꞌ e neu atahori sia naa, fo ara tungga Lamatualain Dala Masodꞌa feu na ia.”
“Go,” he said, “and stand in the Temple Courts, and tell the people the whole Message of this new Life.”

When they heard this, they went at daybreak into the Temple Courts, and began to teach. The High Priest and his party, on their arrival, summoned the High Council, including all the leading men among the Israelites, and sent to the jail to fetch the Apostles.
22 Mana manea ra losa bui a te, Petrus se nese. De ara reu rafadꞌe atahori monaen ra sia mamana dedꞌeat naa.
But, when the officers got there, they did not find them in the prison; so they returned and reported that,
23 Rafadꞌe oi, “Ama nggare! Afiꞌ miminasa. Hai losa bui a ma, hai mita lelesu ra mana nggoe mates. Ma atahori mana raneaꞌ bui ra rambariiꞌ sia naa. Hai denu se soi lelesu a fo masoꞌ te, hai nda mita saa saꞌ boe.”
while they had found the goal barred securely and the guards posted at the doors, yet, on opening them, they had not found any one inside.
24 Rena taꞌo naa ma, malangga agama Yahudi ra, no malangga mana manea Ume Hule-Oꞌe Huuꞌ, basa se onaꞌ mamanggonggoaꞌ ra, huu mopo dudꞌuꞌa nara.
When the Officer in charge at the Temple and the Chief Priests heard their story, they were perplexed about the Apostles and as to what all this would lead to.
25 Basa naa, hambu atahori esa nema nafadꞌe oi, “Ama nggare! Rena dei! Atahori fo amaꞌ se tao mia bui a, ara sia dꞌeaꞌ ia sie! Ara ranori atahori ra sia Ume Hule-Oꞌe Huuꞌ a!”
Presently, however, some one came and told them, that the men whom they had put in prison were actually standing in the Temple Courts, teaching the people.
26 Rena taꞌo naa ma, malangga mana manea Ume Hule-Oꞌe Huuꞌ a noꞌe ana boa nara, fo reu humu seluꞌ Petrus no nonoo nara. Te ana boa nara ramatau, huu atahori naeꞌ rena Petrus ola-olaꞌ. Afiꞌ losa ara ramue, ma mbia risa mana manea ra. Naa de, ara reu humu seluꞌ Petrus se, te ara nda rambarani haꞌi no deres sa.
On this, the Officer went with his men and fetched the Apostles — without using violence, for they were afraid of being stoned by the people —

And then brought them before the Council. The High Priest demanded an explanation from them.
28 “Hai ai hei fo afiꞌ minori soꞌal Atahori mana nae tao dala masodꞌa feuꞌ naa, to? Hei ia ra, langga fatu! Hei nda tao-afiꞌ neu hai parenda ma sa, te hei tunggaꞌ a hihii-nanau mara! Hei mii minori ndule Yerusalem. Onaꞌ a hei mbia salaꞌ nema hai, mae hai mana denu atahori tao risa Yesus.”
“We gave you strict orders,” he said, “not to teach in this Name. Yet you have actually flooded Jerusalem with your teaching, and you want to make us responsible for the death of this man.”
29 Basa de Petrus nambariiꞌ dadꞌi basa dedenuꞌ ra mana ola-olaꞌ na. De ana nataa nae, “Ama nggare! Mete ma atahori parenda na labꞌan Lamatualain hihii-nanau Na, hai nda tungga e sa. Huu hai musi tunggaꞌ a Lamatualain parenda Na!
To this Peter and the Apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than men.
30 Atahori mana soi hai dala masodꞌa feu ma, naeni Yesus. Eni, atahori fo hei mbaku misa sia hau ngganggeꞌ. Mia dalahulu na, hita baꞌi nara hule-oꞌe neu Lamatualain. Lamatualain ia, mana fee Yesus nasodꞌa baliꞌ.
The God of our ancestors raised Jesus, whom you put to death by hanging him on a cross.
31 Ma Lamatualain o soꞌu E dadꞌi lima ona na. Dadꞌi ia naa, Yesus toꞌu koasa onaꞌ mane monaeꞌ. Ana soi dalaꞌ fo atahori ra nenemboꞌit mia sala nara. Ana nau fee dalaꞌ neu hita atahori Israꞌel ia ra, fo hahae mia sala-singgo tara. No taꞌo naa, Lamatualain rala Na maꞌasufu losa nda mete hita atahori Israꞌel ra sala nara sa ena.
It is this Jesus whom God has exalted to his right hand, to be a Guide and a Saviour, to give Israel repentance and forgiveness of sins.
32 Te hita ia ra, tita no hita mata nara tae Yesus memaꞌ mate ena, te Ana nasodꞌa baliꞌ. Ia naa Lamatualain Dula-dale Meumare Na boe o nafadꞌe dalaꞌ ia neu atahori mana tungga Yesus Dala Masodꞌa na.”
And we are witness to the truth of this, and so is the Holy Spirit — the gift of God to those who obey him.”
33 Petrus olaꞌ basa ma, atahori mana endoꞌ paresaꞌ dedꞌeat naa, ramue rae tao risa Lamatuaꞌ dedenu Nara.
The members of the Council became frantic with rage on hearing this, and were for putting the Apostles to death.
34 Te sia naa o hambu atahori esa tungga paresaꞌ dedꞌeat naa. Nara na Gamaliel. Atahori naeꞌ fee hadat neu e, huu eni meser mahineꞌ sia partei agama Farisi. Petrus olaꞌ basa, ma ara rae tao risa e, te Gamaliel nambariiꞌ de denu atahori ra rendi Petrus se dea reu.
But Gamaliel, a Pharisee, who was a Doctor of the Law and who was held in universal respect, rose in the Council, and directed that the men should be taken out of court for a little while.
35 Ara dea reu boe ma, ana olaꞌ no malangga ra sia naa oi, “Toronoo nggare! Ata besa-bꞌesa, o! Afiꞌ losa hita haelai tao deꞌulakaꞌ atahori ia ra. Ata duꞌa naruꞌ dei.
He then said: “Men of Israel, take care as to what you intend to do with these men.
36 Hei feꞌe misinedꞌa atahori esa nara na Teudas, to? Ana mate dooꞌ ena, te feꞌe masodꞌa na, ana soꞌu ao na oi, eni atahori monaeꞌ, losa mbei ma atahori natun haa tungga e. Te leleꞌ atahori tao risa e, ana mana tungga nara rela sea-saranggaa, losa ia nda hambu esa saꞌ boe. Ara rela raeo ena!
For not long ago Theudas appeared, professing to be somebody, and was joined by a body of some four hundred men. But he was killed; and all his followers scattered and dwindled away.
37 Hei musi misinedꞌa dudꞌuit esa fai. Leleꞌ naa mana parenda ra reken atahori sia nusaꞌ ia. Hambu atahori esa, nara na, Yudꞌas, mia propinsi Galilea. Atahori naeꞌ tungga e boe. Te atahori tao risa e. De basa atahori mana tungga e o rela dii-ona losa mopo se.
After him, Judas the Galilean appeared at the time of the census, and induced people to follow him; Yet he, too, perished and all his followers were dispersed.
38 Dadꞌi toronoo nggare! Au duꞌa taꞌo ia: ata afiꞌ tao tisa se. Hela se neuꞌ ena. Mete ma nenori nara no leleo-lalao nara lao mia atahori, mae taꞌo bee o nda naꞌatataaꞌ nala dooꞌ sa, te mopo se neuꞌ ena.
And, in this present case, my advice to you is not to interfere with these men, but to let them alone, for, if their designs and their work are merely of human origin, they will come to an end;
39 Te mete ma nenori nara nema mia Lamatualain, naa hei nda bisa mitudꞌaꞌ se sa. De hei besa-bꞌesa dei. Afiꞌ losa hei labꞌan Lamatualain.” Gamaliel ola basa ma, ara raꞌaheiꞌ tungga e.
but, if they are of divine origin, you will be powerless to put an end to them — or else you may find yourselves fighting against God!”
40 Basa naa ma, ara roꞌe dedenuꞌ naa ra ralaꞌ reu, de ara denu atahori ra filo se. Ara ai se sudꞌi ingga-inggaꞌ Yesus nara na. Basa de, ara mboꞌi hendi se.
The Council followed his advice, and, calling the Apostles in, had them flogged, and then, after cautioning them not to speak in the Name of Jesus, set them free.
41 De Lamatuaꞌ dedenuꞌ naa ra lao hela mamana nggero dedꞌeat naa. Ara duꞌa rae mae nara nara maꞌafo huu tungga Yesus, te ramahoꞌo huu Lamatualain nita se randaa hambu sususaꞌ onaꞌ naa. Naa de, rala nara ramahoꞌo seli.
But the Apostles left the Council, rejoicing that they had been thought worthy to suffer disgrace for that Name;
42 Tungga fai, ara reu ranori atahori rae, “Atahori fo Lamatualain dudꞌu mia dalahulu na, naeni Yesus.” Ara rafadꞌe dalaꞌ naa nakandoo a sia atahori ra ume nara, ma sia Ume Hule-Oꞌe Huuꞌ a.
and never for a single day, either in the Temple Courts or in private houses, did they cease to teach, or to tell the Good News of Jesus, the Christ.
