< 1 Korintus 8 >

1 Leleꞌ ia, au ae olaꞌ soꞌal sisi fo atahori songgo-tanggu rendiꞌ a. Basa nggita tahine naeꞌ ena, soꞌal dalaꞌ ia ra. Salan, mete ma atahori nahine naeꞌ, na ana koao, huu ana duꞌa nae eni mahineꞌ lenaꞌ atahori laen ra. Malole lenaꞌ ata sue-lai to atahori laen ra. Huu naa mana tao fee basa atahori dadꞌi madꞌere fo bisa raꞌatataaꞌ rala dooꞌ.
Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
2 Mete ma hambu atahori nae eni nahine ena, naa natudꞌu oi, eni mahinen nda feꞌe dai sa.
But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he doesn’t yet know as he ought to know.
3 Te mete ma hambu atahori sue Lamatualain, Lamatualain nahine eni ena. Naaꞌ fo pantin.
But anyone who loves God is known by him.
4 Dadꞌi mete ma atahori esa naa nita sisi sosonggoꞌ, basa nggita bubꞌuluꞌ tae, sudꞌiꞌ a saa sosonggoꞌ sia raefafoꞌ ia, naa nda Lamatualain matetuꞌ sa. Huu tahine tae, “Hambu akaꞌ Lamatualain esa fo matetuꞌ.” ma, “basa sudꞌiꞌ a saa sosonggoꞌ fo atahori beꞌutee mbaliꞌ a, nda naꞌena sosoan saa sa boe.”
Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
5 Hambu sudꞌiꞌ a saa hetar sia lalai no raefafoꞌ ia atahori rafadꞌe rae, ‘lamatuaꞌ’ do ‘malangga’.
For though there are things that are called “gods”, whether in the heavens or on earth—as there are many “gods” and many “lords”—
6 Te soaꞌ neu hita, Lamatualain akaꞌ esaꞌ a. Eni, hita Ama na. Basa-bꞌasaꞌ e raꞌoka sia E. Hita tao basaꞌ e fee neu E. Boe ma hita Lamatuan mana naꞌena hak parenda nggita, akaꞌ esaꞌ a. Naeni, Yesus Kristus. Lamatualain pake Yesus, leleꞌ Ana tao basa-bꞌasaꞌ e. Boe ma hambu tasodꞌa, huu Yesus mana fee nggita tasodꞌa.
yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him.
7 Te hambu atahori nda rahine dalaꞌ naa ra sa. Ara feꞌe duꞌa rakandooꞌ a soꞌal sudꞌiꞌ a saa sosonggo nara, onaꞌ dalahulun ara parna dudꞌuꞌa. Naeni de, leleꞌ ara raa sisi fo atahori parna songgo rendiꞌ, ara duꞌa rae, “Nanaat ia dadꞌi tutunu-hohotuꞌ fo songgo rendiꞌ ena! Mete ma au ua sudꞌiꞌ a saa ia ra, na au feꞌe nenepaꞌaꞌ o dalaꞌ deꞌulakaꞌ ra!” Dadꞌi naa mana tao nalutu dudꞌuꞌa nara, losa ara nda bisa dudꞌuꞌa matetuꞌ sa ena, huu rala nara nda beꞌi sa.
However, that knowledge isn’t in all men. But some, with consciousness of an idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
8 Eni netehuun saa? Nanaat nda bisa nendi nggita teu tisiꞌ Lamatualain matan sa, to? Mete ma nda taa sa, hita nda bau deꞌulaka sa. Boe ma mete ma taa, nda tao nggita dadꞌi atahori maloleꞌ sa boe, to?
But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we don’t eat are we the worse, nor if we eat are we the better.
9 Te besa-bꞌesa, o! Itaꞌ mae muꞌena hak fo tao dalaꞌ esa o, tantu naa nda feꞌe dadꞌi maloleꞌ fee neu nggo sa. Onaꞌ hambu toronooꞌ atahori mamahereꞌ esa ralan nda beꞌi sa, de mete ma nita nggo tao dalaꞌ naa, basa ma ana naꞌatunu, na, naa nda maloleꞌ sa!
But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.
10 Ho bubꞌuluꞌ aom dalaꞌ naa nda dadꞌi neu saa sa boe. Te mete ma hambu toronoom atahori mamahereꞌ ralan nda beꞌi sa, nita nggo endoꞌ mua sia ume sosonggoꞌ a rala, dei fo ana nae saa? Tantu ana duꞌa nae naa nanaa sosonggoꞌ o nda dadꞌi soꞌal soaꞌ nema eni sa boe, itaꞌ mae ara songgo rendiꞌ.
For if a man sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol’s temple, won’t his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?
11 Muhine dalaꞌ hetar ena. Te mete ma ho tao taꞌo naa, tao mulutu atahori fo ralan nda beꞌi sa. Ma atahori naa, ho toronoo atahori mamahere ma. Kristus o mate soaꞌ neu e boe!
And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whose sake Christ died.
12 Malole lenaꞌ duꞌa taꞌo ia: mete ma ho tao toronoom fo ralan nda mana beꞌiꞌ a sa, tao dalaꞌ esa fo rae naa sala, na ho tao musalaꞌ neu se ena. Ma tao musalaꞌ neu Kristus ena boe.
Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ.
13 Dadꞌi mete ma au ua sudꞌiꞌ a saa fo mana tao toronoo ngga atahori mamahereꞌ ra tudꞌa salaꞌ, na malole lenaꞌ au afiꞌ ua sisi mataꞌ naa. Mae losa babꞌasan o onaꞌ leo. Huu au nda nau fo ara tudꞌa salaꞌ rala reu sa. (aiōn g165)
Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forever more, that I don’t cause my brother to stumble. (aiōn g165)
