Luca 9
1 A chemat laolaltă pe cei doisprezece și le-a dat putere și stăpânire asupra tuturor demonilor și să vindece bolile.
And whanne the twelue apostlis weren clepid togidir, Jhesus yaf to hem vertu and power on alle deuelis, and that thei schulden heele sijknessis.
2 I-a trimis să propovăduiască Împărăția lui Dumnezeu și să vindece bolnavii.
And he sente hem for to preche the kyngdom of God, and to heele sijk men.
3 El le-a spus: “Nu luați nimic pentru călătoria voastră — nici toiag, nici portofel, nici pâine, nici bani. Nu aveți câte două tunici fiecare.
And he seide to hem, No thing take ye in the weie, nether yerde, ne scrippe, nether breed, ne money, and nether haue ye two cootis.
4 În orice casă veți intra, rămâneți acolo și plecați de acolo.
And in to what hous that ye entren, dwelle ye there, and go ye not out fro thennus.
5 Toți cei care nu vă primesc, când veți pleca din cetatea aceea, scuturați-vă până și praful de pe picioare, ca mărturie împotriva lor.”
And who euer resseyuen not you, go ye out of that citee, and schake ye of the poudir of youre feet in to witnessyng on hem.
6 Și au plecat și au străbătut satele, propovăduind vestea cea bună și vindecând pretutindeni.
And thei yeden forth, and wenten aboute bi castels, prechynge and helynge euery where.
7 Iar Irod tetrarhul a auzit tot ce făcuse el și a fost foarte tulburat, pentru că unii spuneau că Ioan a înviat din morți,
And Eroude tetrak herde alle thingis that weren don of hym, and he doutide,
8 alții că Ilie s-a arătat, iar alții că a înviat unul din vechii prooroci.
for that it was seide of sum men, that Joon was risen fro deth; and of summen, that Elie hadde apperid; but of othere, that oon of the elde prophetis was risun.
9 Irod a spus: “Eu l-am decapitat pe Ioan, dar cine este acesta despre care aud astfel de lucruri?”. A căutat să îl vadă.

11 Dar mulțimile, dându-și seama, l-au urmat. El i-a întâmpinat, le-a vorbit despre Împărăția lui Dumnezeu și i-a vindecat pe cei care aveau nevoie de vindecare.
And whanne the puple knewen this, thei folewiden hym. And he resseyuede hem, and spak to hem of the kyngdom of God; and he heelide hem that hadden neede of cure.
12 Ziua a început să se scurgă, iar cei doisprezece au venit și i-au spus: “Trimiteți mulțimea să se ducă în satele și fermele din jur, să se cazeze și să facă rost de hrană, pentru că noi suntem aici într-un loc pustiu.”

And he seide to hem, Yue ye to hem to ete. And thei seiden, Ther ben not to vs mo than fyue looues and twei fischis, but perauenture that we go, and bie meetis to al this puple.
14 Căci erau cam cinci mii de oameni. El le-a spus ucenicilor săi: “Fă-i să se așeze în grupuri de câte cincizeci de persoane.”
And the men weren almost fyue thousynde. And he seide to hise disciplis, Make ye hem sitte to mete bi cumpanyes, a fifti to gidir.
15 Ei au făcut așa și i-au pus pe toți să se așeze.
And thei diden so, and thei maden alle men sitte to mete.
16 El a luat cele cinci pâini și cei doi pești și, privind spre cer, le-a binecuvântat, le-a frânt și le-a dat discipolilor ca să le pună înaintea mulțimii.
And whanne he hadde take the fyue looues and twei fischis, he biheeld in to heuene, and blesside hem, and brak, and delide to hise disciplis, that thei schulden sette forth bifor the cumpanyes.
17 Ei au mâncat și s-au săturat cu toții. Au adunat douăsprezece coșuri cu bucățile sparte care rămăseseră.
And alle men eeten, and weren fulfillid; and that that lefte to hem of brokun metis was takun vp, twelue cofyns.
18 Pe când se ruga El singur, ucenicii erau lângă El și El i-a întrebat: “Cine zice mulțimea că sunt Eu?”
And it was don, whanne he was aloone preiynge, hise disciplis weren with hym, and he axide hem, and seide, Whom seien the puple that Y am?
19 Ei au răspuns: “Ioan Botezătorul”; dar alții zic: “Ilie”, iar alții zic că a înviat unul din vechii prooroci”.
And thei answeriden, and seiden, Joon Baptist, othir seien Elie, and othir seien, o profete of the formere is risun.
20 El le-a zis: “Dar voi cine ziceți că sunt Eu?” Petru a răspuns: “Hristosul lui Dumnezeu.”
And he seide to hem, But who seien ye that Y am? Symount Petir answeride, and seide, The Crist of God.
21 Dar El i-a avertizat și le-a poruncit să nu spună nimănui acest lucru,
And he blamynge hem comaundide that thei schulden seie to no man,
22 zicând: “Fiul Omului trebuie să sufere multe, să fie lepădat de bătrâni, de preoții cei mai de seamă și de cărturari, să fie omorât și a treia zi să învieze.”
and seide these thingis, For it bihoueth mannus sone to suffre many thingis, and to be repreued of the elder men, and of the princis of prestis, and of scribis, and to be slayn, and the thridde dai to rise ayen.
23 Și a zis tuturor: “Dacă voiește cineva să vină după Mine, să se lepede de sine, să-și ia crucea și să-Mi urmeze Mie.
And he seide to alle, If ony wole come aftir me, denye he hym silf, and take he his cross euery dai, and sue he me.
24 Căci oricine vrea să-și salveze viața o va pierde, dar oricine își va pierde viața pentru Mine o va salva.
For he that wole make his lijf saaf schal leese it; and he that leesith his lijf for me, schal make it saaf.
25 Căci ce-i folosește cuiva să câștige toată lumea și să se piardă sau să se piardă pe sine însuși?
And what profitith it to a man, if he wynne al the world, and leese hymsilf, and do peiryng of him silf.
26 Căci oricine se va rușina de Mine și de cuvintele Mele, de acela se va rușina Fiul Omului când va veni în slava Sa și în slava Tatălui și a sfinților îngeri.
For who so schameth me and my wordis, mannus sone schal schame hym, whanne he cometh in his maieste, and of the fadris, and of the hooli aungels.
27 Dar vă spun adevărul: sunt unii dintre cei care stau aici care nu vor gusta nicidecum moartea până când nu vor vedea Împărăția lui Dumnezeu.”
And Y seie to you, verily ther ben summe stondynge here, whiche schulen not taste deeth, til thei seen the rewme of God.
28 La vreo opt zile după aceste cuvinte, a luat cu Sine pe Petru, pe Ioan și pe Iacov și s-a suit pe munte să se roage.
And it was don aftir these wordis almest eiyte daies, and he took Petre and James and Joon, and he stiede in to an hil, to preye.
29 În timp ce se ruga, înfățișarea feței Lui s-a schimbat, iar hainele Lui au devenit albe și orbitoare.
And while he preiede, the licnesse of his cheer was chaungid, and his clothing was whit schynynge.
30 Iată că vorbeau cu el doi bărbați, care erau Moise și Ilie,
And lo! two men spaken with hym,
31 care s-au arătat în slavă și i-au vorbit despre plecarea pe care urma să o îndeplinească la Ierusalim.
and Moises and Helie weren seen in maieste; and thei sayn his goyng out, which he schulde fulfille in Jerusalem.
32 Petru și cei ce erau cu el erau îngreuiați de somn; dar, când s-au trezit, au văzut slava Lui și pe cei doi bărbați care stăteau cu El.
And Petre, and thei that weren with hym, weren heuy of sleep, and thei wakynge saien his majeste, and the twey men that stoden with hym.
33 Pe când se despărțeau de El, Petru i-a zis lui Isus: “Învățătorule, este bine să fim aici. Să facem trei corturi: unul pentru tine, unul pentru Moise și unul pentru Ilie”, fără să știe ce spune.
And it was don, whanne thei departiden fro hym, Petir seide to Jhesu, Comaundour, it is good that we be here, and make we here thre tabernaclis, oon to thee, and oon to Moises, and oon to Elie. And he wiste not what he schulde seie.
34 Pe când zicea El aceste lucruri, un nor a venit și i-a acoperit și ei s-au temut, când au intrat în nor.
But while he spak these thingis, a cloude was maad, and ouerschadewide hem; and thei dredden, whanne thei entriden in to the cloude.
35 Un glas a ieșit din nor și a zis: “Acesta este Fiul Meu preaiubit. Ascultați-l!”
And a vois was maad out of the cloude, and seide, This is my derworth sone, here ye hym.
36 Când a venit vocea, Isus a fost găsit singur. Ei au tăcut și nu au povestit nimănui, în acele zile, nimic din ceea ce văzuseră.
And while the vois was maad, Jhesu was foundun aloone. And thei weren stille, and to no man seiden in tho daies ouyt of tho thingis, that thei hadden seyn.
37 A doua zi, când s-au coborât de pe munte, o mare mulțime de oameni I-a ieșit în întâmpinare.
But it was doon in the dai suynge, whanne thei camen doun of the hil, myche puple mette hem.
38 Și iată că un om din mulțime a strigat: “Învățătorule, te rog să te uiți la fiul meu, căci este singurul meu copil născut.
And lo! a man of the cumpany criede, and seide, Maister, Y biseche thee, biholde my sone, for Y haue no mo; and lo!
39 Iată că un duh îl ia, strigă deodată și îl convulsionează până la spumegarea lui; și abia se depărtează de el, lovindu-l grav.
a spirit takith hym, and sudenli he crieth, and hurtlith doun, and to-drawith hym with fome, and vnneth he goith awei al to-drawynge hym.
40 I-am rugat pe discipolii tăi să-l alunge, dar nu au putut.”
And Y preiede thi disciplis, that thei schulden caste hym out, and thei myyten not.
41 Isus a răspuns: “Neam necredincios și pervers, până când voi fi cu voi și voi răbda cu voi? Aduceți aici pe fiul vostru”.
And Jhesus answerde and seide to hem, A! vnfeithful generacioun and weiward, hou long schal Y be at you, and suffre you? brynge hidur thi sone.
42 Pe când venea el încă, demonul l-a aruncat la pământ și l-a zdrobit cu putere. Dar Isus a mustrat duhul necurat, a vindecat băiatul și l-a dat înapoi tatălui său.
And whanne he cam nyy, the deuel hurtlide hym doun, and to-braidide hym. And Jhesus blamyde `the vnclene spirit, and heelide the child, and yeldide him to his fadir.
43 Toți erau uimiți de măreția lui Dumnezeu. Și, pe când toți se mirau de toate lucrurile pe care le făcea Isus, a zis ucenicilor Săi:
And alle men wondriden greetli in the gretnesse of God. And whanne alle men wondriden in alle thingis that he dide, he seide to hise disciplis,
44 “Lăsați să vă intre în urechi cuvintele acestea, căci Fiul Omului va fi dat în mâinile oamenilor”.
Putte ye these wordis in youre hertis, for it is to come, that mannus sone be bitrayed in to the hondis of men.
45 Dar ei nu au înțeles acest cuvânt. Le era ascunsă, ca să nu o înțeleagă, și le era teamă să îl întrebe despre acest cuvânt.
And thei knewen not this word, and it was hid bifor hem, that thei feeliden it not; and thei dredden to axe hym of this word.
46 Și s-a iscat între ei o ceartă despre care dintre ei era cel mai mare.
But a thouyt entride in to hem, who of hem schulde be grettest.
47 Isus, pricepând rațiunile inimilor lor, a luat un copilaș, l-a pus lângă El și le-a spus:
And Jhesu, seynge the thouytis of the herte of hem, took a child, and settide hym bisidis hym;
48 “Oricine primește pe acest copilaș în numele Meu, pe Mine Mă primește. Oricine mă primește pe mine îl primește pe cel care m-a trimis. Căci oricine este cel mai mic dintre voi toți, acesta va fi mare”.
and seide to hem, Who euer resseyueth this child in my name, resseyueth me; and who euer resseyueth me, resseiueth him that sente me; for he that is leest among you alle, is the grettest.
49 Ioan a răspuns: “Învățătorule, am văzut pe cineva care scotea demoni în Numele Tău și i-am interzis, pentru că nu este de partea noastră.”
And Joon answeride and seide, Comaundoure, we sayn a man castynge out feendis in thi name, and we han forbedun hym, for he sueth not thee with vs.
50 Isus i-a zis: “Nu-l opri, căci cine nu este împotriva noastră, este pentru noi.”
And Jhesus seide to hym, Nyle ye forbede, for he that is not ayens vs, is for vs.
51 Când se apropiau zilele în care trebuia să fie luat, el și-a pus în gând să meargă la Ierusalim
And it was don, whanne the daies of his takyng vp weren fulfillid, he settide faste his face, to go to Jerusalem,
52 și a trimis mesageri înaintea lui. Aceștia s-au dus și au intrat într-un sat al samaritenilor, ca să se pregătească pentru el.
and sente messangeris bifor his siyt. And thei yeden, and entriden in to a citee of Samaritans, to make redi to hym.
53 Ei nu l-au primit, pentru că el călătorea cu fața îndreptată spre Ierusalim.
And thei resseyueden not hym, for the face `was of hym goynge in to Jerusalem.
54 Când discipolii săi, Iacov și Ioan, au văzut acest lucru, au zis: “Doamne, vrei să poruncim noi să coboare foc din cer și să-i nimicească, așa cum a făcut Ilie?”
And whanne James and Joon, hise disciplis, seyn, thei seiden, Lord, wolt thou that we seien, that fier come doun fro heuene, and waste hem?
55 Dar El s-a întors și i-a mustrat: “Nu știți ce fel de duh sunteți.
And he turnede, and blamyde hem, and seide, Ye witen not, whos spiritis ye ben;
56 Căci Fiul Omului nu a venit să distrugă viețile oamenilor, ci să le salveze.” S-au dus în alt sat.
for mannus sone cam not to leese mennus soulis, but to saue. And thei wenten in to another castel.
57 Pe când mergeau pe drum, un om I-a zis: “Vreau să Te urmez oriunde vei merge, Doamne.”
And it was don, whanne thei walkeden in the weie, a man seide to hym, Y schal sue thee, whidur euer thou go.
58 Isus i-a zis: “Vulpile au vizuini și păsările cerului au cuiburi, dar Fiul Omului nu are unde să-Și pună capul.”
And Jhesus seide to hym, Foxis han dennes, and briddis of the eir han nestis, but mannus sone hath not where he reste his heed.
59 Și a zis altuia: “Urmează-mă!” Dar el a spus: “Doamne, dă-mi voie să mă duc mai întâi să-l îngrop pe tatăl meu”.
And he seide to another, Sue thou me. And he seide, Lord, suffre me first to go, and birie my fadir.
60 Dar Isus i-a zis: “Lasă morții să-și îngroape morții lor, iar tu du-te și vestește Împărăția lui Dumnezeu.”
And Jhesus seide to hym, Suffre that deede men birie hir deede men; but go thou, and telle the kyngdom of God.
61 Un altul a mai zis: “Vreau să te urmez, Doamne, dar mai întâi îngăduie-mi să-mi iau rămas bun de la cei care sunt la mine acasă.”
And another seide, Lord, Y schal sue thee, but first suffre me to leeue `alle thingis that ben at hoom.
62 Dar Isus i-a zis: “Nimeni care a pus mâna la plug și se uită înapoi nu este potrivit pentru Împărăția lui Dumnezeu.”
And Jhesus seide to hym, No man that puttith his hoond to the plouy, and biholdynge bacward, is able to the rewme of God.
