1 Așadar, lăsând învățătura primelor principii ale lui Hristos, să mergem mai departe spre desăvârșire — să nu punem din nou temelia pocăinței de faptele moarte, a credinței în Dumnezeu,
Therefore, leaving the elementary teaching about Christ, let us move on toward perfection, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and trust in God,
2 a învățăturii despre botezuri, despre punerea mâinilor, despre învierea morților și despre judecata veșnică. (aiōnios g166)
of teaching about baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (aiōnios g166)
3 Asta vom face, dacă Dumnezeu ne va îngădui.
We will do this, that is, if indeed God should permit it.
4 Căci în ceea ce privește pe cei care au fost odată luminați și au gustat din darul ceresc și au fost făcuți părtași la Duhul Sfânt,
Because, it is impossible to bring back into repentance those who were once for all enlightened, who have partaken of the heavenly gift and were made sharers in the Holy Spirit,
who have experienced God's good event and capabilities of the coming age, (aiōn g165)
6 și apoi au căzut, este imposibil să-i reînnoim din nou la pocăință, întrucât ei îl răstignesc din nou pe Fiul lui Dumnezeu pentru ei înșiși și îl fac de rușine.
and yet have fallen away—they would be crucifying the Son of God all over again, just for themselves, holding Him up to contempt.
7 Căci pământul care a băut ploaia care vine des peste el și produce o recoltă potrivită pentru cei pentru care este și lucrat, primește binecuvântare de la Dumnezeu;
Now the ground that drinks in the rain that frequently falls on it and produces a crop useful to those for whom it is really cultivated receives blessing from God;
8 dar dacă poartă spini și ciulini, este respins și aproape de a fi blestemat, al cărui sfârșit este să fie ars.
but should it bear thorns and thistles, it is disqualified, almost a curse, whose destiny is a burning.
9 Dar, preaiubiților, noi suntem încredințați de lucruri mai bune pentru voi și de lucruri care însoțesc mântuirea, chiar dacă vorbim astfel.
For all that, dear ones, we are confident of the better things concerning you—things that accompany salvation—even though we speak like this.
10 Căci Dumnezeu nu este nedrept, ca să uite lucrarea voastră și osteneala dragostei pe care ați arătat-o față de numele Lui, prin faptul că ați slujit sfinților și încă le mai slujiți.
Because God is not unjust so as to ignore your work, even the labor of love you have invested in His name, in that you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so.
11 Dorim ca fiecare dintre voi să dea dovadă de aceeași sârguință în vederea împlinirii speranței până la sfârșit,
You see, we really do want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so as to fulfill the hope;
12 ca să nu fiți leneși, ci imitatori ai celor care, prin credință și perseverență, au moștenit promisiunile.
so that you not become lazy, but rather imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13 Căci, când Dumnezeu a făcut făgăduința lui Avraam, n-a putut să jure pe nimeni mai mare, ci a jurat pe sine însuși,
Now when God made a promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself
14 zicând: “Te voi binecuvânta și te voi binecuvânta și te voi înmulți”.
saying, “Indeed, blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”
15 Astfel, după ce a răbdat, a obținut promisiunea.
And so, after he had been patient, he obtained the promise.
16 Căci, într-adevăr, oamenii jură pe unul mai mare și, în orice dispută a lor, jurământul este definitiv pentru confirmare.
Because since men swear by the greater, and for them the confirming oath puts an end to every dispute,
17 În felul acesta, Dumnezeu, hotărât să arate mai mult moștenitorilor promisiunii imuabilitatea sfatului său, a intervenit cu un jurământ,
similarly God, being determined to show even more clearly to the heirs of the promise the unchanging nature of His purpose, guaranteed it by an oath,
18 pentru ca, prin două lucruri imuabile, în care este imposibil ca Dumnezeu să mintă, să avem o puternică încurajare, noi, care am fugit să ne refugiem pentru a ne agăța de speranța pusă înaintea noastră.
so that by two unalterable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we should have a strong encouragement, we who have taken refuge by grasping the hope set before us;
19 Această nădejde o avem ca o ancoră a sufletului, o nădejde deopotrivă sigură și neclintită și care intră în ceea ce este înăuntrul perdelei,
which hope we have as an anchor for the soul, both certain and secure, actually entering the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
