1 Pavel, Silvan și Timotei, către adunarea Tesalonicenilor, în Dumnezeu, Tatăl nostru, și în Domnul Isus Hristos:
Paul, Silas, and Timothy: To the Church of the Thessalonians which is in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Har vouă și pace de la Dumnezeu, Tatăl nostru, și de la Domnul Isus Hristos.
May grace and peace be granted to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Suntem datori să mulțumim totdeauna lui Dumnezeu pentru voi, fraților, așa cum se cuvine, pentru că credința voastră crește nespus de mult și dragostea fiecăruia dintre voi unul față de altul este din ce în ce mai mare,
Unceasing thanks are due from us to God on your behalf, brethren. They are appropriate because your faith is growing greatly, and the love of every one of you for all the others goes on increasing.
4 astfel încât noi înșine ne lăudăm cu voi în adunările lui Dumnezeu pentru perseverența și credința voastră în toate prigoanele și necazurile pe care le îndurați.
It so increases that we ourselves make honourable mention of you among the Churches of God because of your patience and faith amid all your persecutions and amid the afflictions which you are enduring.
5 Acesta este un semn evident al dreptei judecăți a lui Dumnezeu, pentru ca voi să fiți socotiți vrednici de Împărăția lui Dumnezeu, pentru care și voi suferiți.
For these are a plain token of God's righteous judgement, which has in view your being deemed worthy of admission to God's Kingdom, for the sake of which, indeed, you are sufferers.
6 Căci este un lucru drept la Dumnezeu să răsplătească suferința celor care vă chinuiesc pe voi,
A plain token of God's righteous judgement, I say, since it is a righteous thing for Him to requite with affliction those who are now afflicting you;
7 și să vă ușureze pe voi, cei care sunteți chinuiți împreună cu noi, când Domnul Isus se va arăta din cer cu îngerii săi puternici în flăcări de foc,
and to requite with rest you who are suffering affliction now--rest with us at the re-appearing of the Lord Jesus from Heaven, attended by His mighty angels.
8 pedepsindu-i pe cei care nu-l cunosc pe Dumnezeu și pe cei care nu ascultă de Buna Vestire a Domnului nostru Isus,
He will come in flames of fire to take vengeance on those who have no knowledge of God, and do not obey the Good News as to Jesus, our Lord.
9 care va plăti pedeapsa: distrugerea veșnică de la fața Domnului și de la gloria puterii sale, (aiōnios g166)
They will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, being banished from the presence of the Lord and from His glorious majesty, (aiōnios g166)
10 când va veni în ziua aceea ca să fie glorificat în sfinții săi și să fie admirat printre toți cei care au crezut, pentru că mărturia noastră către voi a fost crezută.
when He comes on that day to be glorified in His people and to be wondered at among all who have believed, including you--because you believed the testimony which we brought for your acceptance.
11 Pentru aceasta ne rugăm și noi totdeauna pentru voi, ca Dumnezeul nostru să vă socotească vrednici de chemarea voastră și să împlinească cu putere orice dorință de bunătate și orice lucrare de credință,
It is with this view also that we continually pray to our God for you, asking that He will count you worthy of His call, and by His mighty power fully gratify your every desire for what is truly good and make your work of faith complete;
12 pentru ca Numele Domnului nostru Isus să fie proslăvit în voi și voi în El, după harul Dumnezeului nostru și al Domnului Isus Hristos.
in order that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and that you may be glorified in Him--so wonderful is the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ!
