1 Пророчие деспре Ниниве. Картя пророчией луй Наум, дин Елкош.
The oracle, on Nineveh, —the scroll of the vision of Nahum, the Elkoshite.
2 Домнул есте ун Думнезеу ӂелос ши рэзбунэтор; Домнул Се рэзбунэ ши есте плин де мыние; Домнул Се рэзбунэ пе потривничий Луй ши цине мыние пе врэжмаший Луй.
A GOD jealous and avenging, is Yahweh, an avenger, is Yahweh, and a lord of wrath, an avenger, is Yahweh towards his adversaries, and, a retainer [of anger], is he to his foes.
3 Домнул есте ынделунг рэбдэтор, дар де о маре тэрие ши ну ласэ непедепсит пе чел рэу. Домнул умблэ ын фуртунэ ши ын выртеж ши норий сунт прафул пичоарелор Луй.
Yahweh, is slow to anger, but great in vigour, He will not leave, unpunished, as for Yahweh, in storm-wind and in tempest, is his way, and, clouds, are the dust of his feet.
4 Ел мустрэ маря ши о усукэ, фаче сэ сече тоате рыуриле; Басанул ши Кармелул тынжеск ши флоаря Либанулуй се вештежеште.
Who rebuketh the sea and hath made it dry, and, all the streams, hath he dried up, —withered are Bashan and Carmel, Even the bloom of Lebanon, is withered:
5 Се клатинэ мунций ынаинтя Луй ши дялуриле се топеск; се кутремурэ пэмынтул ынаинтя Луй, лумя ши тоць локуиторий ей.
Mountains, have trembled because of him, and, the hills, have melted, —and the earth, hath lifted itself up, at his presence, the world also, and all who dwell therein.
6 Чине поате ста ынаинтя урӂией Луй? Ши чине поате цине пепт мынией Луй апринсе? Урӂия Луй се варсэ ка фокул ши се прэбушеск стынчиле ынаинтя Луй.
Before his indignation, who shall stand? And who shall abide the glow of his anger? His wrath, hath been poured forth like fire, and, the rocks, have been broken down because of him.
7 Домнул есте бун, Ел есте ун лок де скэпаре ын зиуа неказулуй ши куноаште пе чей че се ынкред ын Ел.
Good is Yahweh, as a protection in the day of distress, —and one who acknowledgeth them who seek refuge in him.
8 Дар ку ниште валурь че се варсэ песте мал ва нимичи четатя Ниниве ши ва урмэри пе врэжмаший Луй пынэ ын ынтунерик.
But, with an overflow rolling on, a full end, will he make of them who rise up against him, —and, his foes, will he pursue into darkness.
9 Че планурь фачець вой ымпотрива Домнулуй? Ел ле зэдэрничеште! Ненорочиря ну ва вени де доуэ орь.
What can ye devise against Yahweh? A full end, is he making, —Distress, shall not rise up twice:
10 Кэч вор фи ка ниште мэнункюрь де спинь ынкылчиць ши, токмай кынд вор фи бець де винул лор, вор фи мистуиць де фок, ка о мириште де тот ускатэ.
Though they were like thorns intertwined, and as drunkards drenched with their drink, yet have they been devoured, like stubble fully dry.
11 Дин тине, Ниниве, а ешит чел че урзя реле ымпотрива Домнулуй, чел че фэчя планурь рэутэчоасе.
Out of thee, hath one come forth—plotting, against Yahweh, wickedness, —A counselor of the Abandoned One.
12 Аша ворбеште Домнул: „Орькыт де мулць ши путерничь вор фи, тоць вор фи сечераць ши вор пери. Кяр дакэ те-ам ынтристат, Иерусалиме, ну те вой май ынтриста…
Thus, saith Yahweh, Though they be in full force, and so in great numbers, yet, even so, have they been cut off, and have passed away, —If I humble thee [once], I will not humble thee again.
13 Чи ыць вой сфэрыма жугул акум де пе тине ши-ць вой рупе легэтуриле…”
Now, therefore, will I break his yoke from off thee, —and, thy fetters, will I tear off.
14 Ятэ че а порунчит ынсэ Домнул ымпотрива та, Асур: „Ну вей май авя урмашь каре сэ-ць поарте нумеле; вой ридика дин каса думнезеулуй тэу кипуриле чоплите сау турнате; ыць вой прегэти мормынтул, кэч те-ай афлат пря ушор.”
Then will Yahweh give command concerning thee, None of thy name shall be sown any more, —out of the house of thy gods, will I cut off carved image and molten image, I will appoint thy grave, for thou art of little esteem.
15 Ятэ пе мунць пичоареле солулуй каре вестеште пачя! Прэзнуеште-ць сэрбэториле, Иудо, ымплинеште-ць журуинцеле! Кэч чел рэу ну ва май трече прин мижлокул тэу, есте нимичит ку десэвыршире…
Lo! upon the mountains, The feet of one, who bringeth Good Tidings! who publisheth Prosperity! Celebrate, O Judah, thy pilgrim festivals, fulfil thy vows, for, not again, any more, shall the Abandoned One, pass through thee, he hath been wholly cut off.
