1 Бэрбаций луй Исраел журасерэ ла Мицпа, зикынд: „Ничунул дин ной сэ ну-шь дя фата дупэ ун бениамит.”
The sons of Israel had also taken an oath at Mizpah, and they said, “None of us shall give his daughters as a wife to the sons of Benjamin.”
2 Попорул а венит ла Бетел ши а стат ынаинтя луй Думнезеу пынэ сяра. Ау ридикат гласул, ау вэрсат мулте лакримь
And they all went to the house of God at Shiloh. And sitting in his sight until evening, they lifted up their voice, and they began to weep, with a great wailing, saying,
3 ши ау зис: „Доамне, Думнезеул луй Исраел, пентру че с-а ынтымплат аша чева ын Исраел, сэ липсяскэ астэзь о семинцие ынтрягэ дин Исраел?”
“Why, O Lord, God of Israel, has this evil happened among your people, so that this day one tribe would be taken away from us?”
4 А доуа зи, попорул с-а скулат дис-де-диминяцэ, а зидит аколо ун алтар ши а адус ардерь-де-тот ши жертфе де мулцумире.
Then, rising at first light on the next day, they built an altar. And they offered holocausts and victims of peace offerings there, and they said,
5 Копиий луй Исраел ау зис: „Чине динтре тоате семинцииле луй Исраел ну с-а суит ла адунаре ынаинтя Домнулуй?” Кэч фэкусерэ ун журэмынт маре ымпотрива орькуй ну с-ар суи ла Домнул, ла Мицпа, ши зисесерэ: „Сэ фие педепсит ку моартя.”
“Who, out of all the tribes of Israel, did not ascend with the army of the Lord?” For they had bound themselves with a great oath, when they were at Mizpah, that whoever was not present would be slain.
6 Копиилор луй Исраел ле пэря рэу де фрателе лор Бениамин ши зичяу: „Астэзь а фост нимичитэ о семинцие дин Исраел.
And the sons of Israel, having been led to repentance over their brother Benjamin, began to say: “One tribe has been taken away from Israel.
7 Кум сэ фачем рост де невесте челор че ау рэмас ку вяцэ, фииндкэ ам журат пе Домнул сэ ну ле дэм фетеле ноастре де невесте?”
From where shall they receive wives? For we have all sworn in common that we will not give our daughters to them.”
8 Ей ау зис деч: „Есте чинева динтре семинцииле луй Исраел каре сэ ну се фи суит ла Домнул ла Мицпа?” Ши нимень дин Иабес дин Галаад ну венисе ын табэрэ, ла адунаре.
For this reason, they said, “Who is there, out of all the tribes of Israel, that did not ascend to the Lord at Mizpah?” And behold, the inhabitants of Jabesh-Gilead were found not to have been among that army.
9 Ау фэкут нумэрэтоаря попорулуй, ши ну ера аколо ничунул дин локуиторий дин Иабес дин Галаад.
(Likewise, in the time when they had been at Shiloh, not one of them was found to be there.)
10 Атунч, адунаря а тримис ымпотрива лор доуэспрезече мий де осташь, дынду-ле порунка ачаста: „Дучеци-вэ ши тречець прин аскуцишул сабией пе локуиторий дин Иабес дин Галаад, ку фемеиле ши копиий.
And so they sent ten thousand very robust men, and they instructed them, saying, “Go and strike down the inhabitants of Jabesh-Gilead with the edge of the sword, including their wives and little ones.”
11 Ятэ че сэ фачець: сэ нимичиць ку десэвыршире орьче бэрбат ши орьче фемее каре а куноскут ымпреунаря ку бэрбат.”
And this shall be what you ought to do: “Every one of the male gender, as well as all the women who have known men, shall be put to death. But the virgins you shall reserve.”
12 Ау гэсит ынтре локуиторий дин Иабес дин Галаад патру суте де фете фечоаре, каре ну се кулкасерэ ку бэрбат, ши ле-ау адус ын табэрэ ла Сило, каре есте ын цара Канаанулуй.
And four hundred virgins, who had not known the bed of a man, were found from Jabesh-Gilead. And they brought them to the camp at Shiloh, in the land of Canaan.
13 Тоатэ адунаря а тримис соль сэ ворбяскэ фиилор луй Бениамин каре ерау ла стынка Римон ши сэ ле вестяскэ пачя.
And they sent messengers to the sons of Benjamin, who were at the rock of Rimmon, and they instructed them, so that they would receive them in peace.
14 Ын тимпул ачела, бениамиций с-ау ынторс ши ли с-ау дат де невесте ачеля пе каре ле лэсасерэ ку вяцэ дин фемеиле дин Иабес дин Галаад. Дар ну ерау дестуле.
And the sons of Benjamin went, at that time, and wives were given to them from the daughters of Jabesh-Gilead. But others were not found, whom they might give in a similar manner.
15 Попорулуй ый пэря рэу де Бениамин, кэч Домнул фэкусе о спэртурэ ын семинцииле луй Исраел.
And all of Israel was very saddened, and they did penance for destroying one tribe out of Israel.
16 Бэтрыний адунэрий ау зис: „Кум сэ фачем рост де невесте пентру чей рэмашь, кэч фемеиле луй Бениамин ау фост нимичите?”
And those greater by birth said: “What shall we do with the remainder, those who have not received wives? For all the females of Benjamin have been cut down,
17 Ши ау зис: „Чей че ау май рэмас дин Бениамин сэ-шь пэстрезе моштениря, ка сэ ну се штяргэ о семинцие дин Исраел.
and we must take great care, and make provision with a very great diligence, so that one tribe may not be wiped away from Israel.
18 Дар ной ну путем сэ дэм пе фетеле ноастре дупэ ей, кэч копиий луй Исраел ау журат, зикынд: ‘Блестемат сэ фие чине ва да о невастэ унуй бениамит!’
As for our own daughters, we are not able to give them, being bound by an oath and a curse, when we said, ‘Accursed is he who will give any of his daughters to Benjamin as a wife.’”
19 Ши ау зис: ‘Ятэ, ын фиекаре ан есте о сэрбэтоаре а Домнулуй ла Сило, каре есте ла мязэноапте де Бетел, ла рэсэритул друмулуй каре суе дин Бетел ла Сихем ши ла мязэзи де Лебона.’”
And they took counsel, and they said, “Behold, there is a yearly solemnity of the Lord at Shiloh, which is situated to the north of the city of Bethel, and on the eastern side of the way that one takes from Bethel to Shechem, and to the south of the town of Lebonah.”
20 Апой ау дат урмэтоаря порункэ фиилор луй Бениамин: „Дучеци-вэ ши стаць ла пындэ ын вий!
And they instructed the sons of Benjamin, and they said: “Go, and hide in the vineyards.
21 Уйтаци-вэ ши, кынд вець ведя пе фетеле дин Сило ешинд сэ жоаче, сэ ешиць дин вий, сэ вэ луаць фиекаре кыте о невастэ дин фетеле дин Сило ши сэ вэ дучець ын цара луй Бениамин.
And when you will have seen daughters of Shiloh being led out to dance, according to custom, go forth suddenly from the vineyards, and let each one seize one wife from among them, and travel into the land of Benjamin.
22 Дакэ пэринций сау фраций лор вор вени сэ се плынгэ ла ной, ле вом спуне: ‘Даци-ни-ле ноуэ, кэч н-ам луат кыте о невастэ де фиекаре ын рэзбой. Ну вой ли ле-аць дат: нумай атунч аць фи виноваць.’”
And when their fathers and brothers arrive, and they begin to complain against you and to argue, we will say to them: ‘Take pity on them. For they have not seized them by right of war or conquest. Instead, begging to receive them, you did not give them, and so the sin was on your part.’”
23 Фиий луй Бениамин ау фэкут аша: шь-ау луат невесте, дупэ нумэрул лор, динтре жукэтоареле пе каре ле-ау рэпит, апой ау плекат ши с-ау ынторс ын моштениря лор; ау зидит ярэшь четэциле ши ау локуит аколо.
And so the sons of Benjamin did just as they had been ordered. And according to their number, they seized for themselves one wife each, out of those who were led out dancing. And they went into their own possession, and they built up their cities, and they lived in them.
24 Ши, ын ачелашь тимп, копиий луй Исраел ау плекат де аколо фиекаре ын семинция луй ши ын фамилия луй ши с-а ынторс фиекаре ын моштениря луй.
The sons of Israel also returned, according to their tribes and families, to their tents.
25 Пе время ачея, ну ера ымпэрат ын Исраел, фиекаре фэчя че-й плэчя.
In those days, there was no king in Israel. Instead, each one did what seemed right to himself.
