1 Фраций мей, сэ ну цинець крединца Домнулуй ностру Исус Христос, Домнул славей, кэутынд ла фаца омулуй.
My brothers, do not hold the faith of the Lord Jesus, the Lord of Glory, in a spirit of caste.
2 Кэч, де пилдэ, дакэ интрэ ын адунаря воастрэ ун ом ку ун инел де аур ши ку о хайнэ стрэлучитоаре, ши интрэ ши ун сэрак ымбрэкат прост;
Suppose a man comes into your synagogue with a gold ring and dazzling clothes, and suppose a poor man comes in, also, in shabby clothes,
3 ши вой пунець окий пе чел че поартэ хайна стрэлучитоаре ши-й зичець: „Ту шезь ын локул ачеста бун!” ши апой зичець сэракулуй: „Ту стай аколо ын пичоаре!” сау: „Шезь жос ла пичоареле меле!”
and you look up to him who wears the fine clothing, and say to him, "Sit here in this fine place!" and to the poor man you say, "Stand there!" or "Sit on the floor at my feet!"
4 Ну фачець вой оаре о деосебире ын вой ыншивэ ши ну вэ фачець вой жудекэторь ку гындурь реле?
are you not drawing distinctions among yourselves, and have you not become judges with evil thoughts?
5 Аскултаць, пряюбиций мей фраць: н-а алес Думнезеу пе чей че сунт сэрачь ын окий лумий ачестея, ка сэ-й факэ богаць ын крединцэ ши моштениторь ай Ымпэрэцией, пе каре а фэгэдуит-о челор че-Л юбеск?
Listen, my dear brothers, has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and to inherit the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?
6 Ши вой ынжосиць пе чел сэрак! Оаре ну богаций вэ асупреск ши вэ тырэск ынаинтя жудекэториилор?
But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you to court?
7 Ну батжокореск ей фрумосул нуме пе каре-л пуртаць?
Are they not blaspheming that glorious Name by which you are called?
8 Дакэ ымплиниць Леӂя ымпэрэтяскэ, потривит Скриптурий: „Сэ юбешть пе апроапеле тэу ка пе тине ынсуць”, бине фачець.
If you are keeping the royal law, which says, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thou dost thyself, you are doing well.
9 Дар, дакэ авець ын ведере фаца омулуй, фачець ун пэкат ши сунтець осындиць де Леӂе ка ниште кэлкэторь де леӂе.
If you have the spirit of caste you are committing sin, and are convicted by the Law as transgressors.
10 Кэч чине пэзеште тоатэ Леӂя ши грешеште ынтр-о сингурэ порункэ, се фаче виноват де тоате.
For if a man keeps the whole of the Law, and yet stumbles in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 Кэч Чел че а зис: „Сэ ну прякурвешть” а зис ши: „Сэ ну учизь.” Акум, дакэ ну прякурвешть, дар учизь, те фачь кэлкэтор ал Леӂий.
For he who said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not Kill. Now if you do not commit adultery, but if you do kill, you have transgressed the Law.
12 Сэ ворбиць ши сэ лукраць ка ниште оамень каре ау сэ фие жудекаць де о леӂе а слобозенией:
So speak and act like men who are to be judged by the law of liberty.
13 кэч жудеката есте фэрэ милэ пентру чел че н-а авут милэ; дар мила бируе жудеката.
For judgment is without mercy to the man who has showed no mercy. but mercy glories in the face of judgment.
14 Фраций мей, че-й фолосеште куйва сэ спунэ кэ аре крединцэ, дакэ н-аре фапте? Поате оаре крединца ачаста сэ-л мынтуяскэ?
My brothers, what good is it if any one says that he has faith, if he has no deeds? Can such faith save him?
15 Дакэ ун фрате сау о сорэ сунт гой ши липсиць де храна де тоате зилеле
If a brother or sister be naked and in need of daily food,
16 ши унул динтре вой ле зиче: „Дучеци-вэ ын паче, ынкэлзици-вэ ши сэтураци-вэ!” фэрэ сэ ле дя челе требуинчоасе трупулуй, ла че й-ар фолоси?
and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, find warmth and food for yourselves," but at the same time you do not give the necessaries of the body, what good would that do them?
17 Тот аша ши крединца, дакэ н-аре фапте, есте моартэ ын еа ынсэшь.
In just the same way faith, if it have not deeds, is by itself a lifeless thing.
18 Дар ва зиче чинева: „Ту ай крединца, ши еу ам фаптеле.” Аратэ-мь крединца та фэрэ фапте ши еу ыць вой арэта крединца мя дин фаптеле меле.
Some one indeed may say, "You have faith, and I have deeds." "Then show me your faith," I answer, "apart from any deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds."
19 Ту крезь кэ Думнезеу есте унул, ши бине фачь, дар ши драчий кред… ши се ынфиоарэ!
You believe that God is one? You do well; even the demons believe, and they shudder.
20 Врей дар сэ ынцелеӂь, ом несокотит, кэ крединца фэрэ фапте есте задарникэ?
But do you want to be convinced, O foolish man, that faith apart from deeds is barren?
21 Авраам, пэринтеле ностру, н-а фост ел сокотит неприхэнит прин фапте кынд а адус пе фиул сэу Исаак жертфэ пе алтар?
Was not Abraham our ancestor justified by deeds, in that he offered up Isaac, his son, upon the altar?
22 Везь кэ крединца лукра ымпреунэ ку фаптеле луй ши, прин фапте, крединца а ажунс десэвыршитэ.
You see how faith was cooperating with deeds, and faith was made perfect by deeds.
23 Астфел с-а ымплинит Скриптура каре зиче: „Авраам а крезут пе Думнезеу, ши и с-а сокотит ка неприхэнире” ши ел а фост нумит „приетенул луй Думнезеу”.
And the Scripture was fulfilled which said, And Abraham believed God, and this was imputed to him as righteousness, and he was called God’s friend.
24 Ведець дар кэ омул есте сокотит неприхэнит прин фапте, ши ну нумай прин крединцэ.
You see, then, that it is by his deeds a man is justified, and not simply by his faith.
25 Тот аша, курва Рахав н-а фост сокотитэ ши еа неприхэнитэ прин фапте кынд а гэздуит пе соль ши й-а скос афарэ пе алтэ кале?
In like manner was not Rahab, the harlot, justified by her deeds, in the fact that she received the messengers and sent them forth by another way?
26 Дупэ кум трупул фэрэ дух есте морт, тот аша ши крединца фэрэ фапте есте моартэ.
So just as the body without a spirit is dead, so faith is dead without deeds.
