1 Тот пэмынтул авя о сингурэ лимбэ ши ачеляшь кувинте.
At first, all the people in [MTY] the world spoke the same language [DOU].
2 Порнинд ей ынспре рэсэрит, ау дат песте о кымпие ын цара Шинеар ши ау дескэлекат аколо.
As people moved further east, they arrived at a plain in Babylonia region and began to live there.
3 Ши ау зис унул кэтре алтул: „Хайдем сэ фачем кэрэмизь ши сэ ле ардем бине ын фок!” Ши кэрэмида ле-а цинут лок де пятрэ, яр смоала ле-а цинут лок де вар.
Then they said to each other, “(Hey/Come on), let’s form bricks and bake them to make them hard, for building!” So they used bricks instead of stones, and used tar instead of (mortar/a mixture of cement, sand and lime) to hold them together.
4 Ши ау май зис: „Хайдем сэ не зидим о четате ши ун турн ал кэруй вырф сэ атингэ черул ши сэ не фачем ун нуме, ка сэ ну фим ымпрэштияць пе тоатэ фаца пэмынтулуй!”
They said, “Hey, let’s build a city for ourselves! We also ought to build a very high tower that reaches up to the sky! In that way we will become famous! If we do not do this, we will be scattered all over the earth!”
5 Домнул С-а коборыт сэ вадэ четатя ши турнул пе каре-л зидяу фиий оаменилор.
So they began to build the city and the tower. Then Yahweh looked down and saw the city and the tower that those [puny] men were building.
6 Ши Домнул а зис: „Ятэ, ей сунт ун сингур попор ши тоць ау ачеяшь лимбэ, ши ятэ де че с-ау апукат; акум нимик ну й-ар ымпедика сэ факэ тот че шь-ау пус ын гынд.
Yahweh said, “These people are one group that all speak the same language. If they have begun to do this now, then (there is nothing that they will decide to do that will be impossible for them/they will be able to do whatever they decide to do) [LIT]!
7 Хайдем сэ Не коборым ши сэ ле ынкуркэм аколо лимба, ка сэ ну-шь май ынцелягэ ворба уний алтора!”
So, okay/now, we will go down there and cause there to be many different languages, so that they will not be able to understand each other.”
8 Ши Домнул й-а ымпрэштият де аколо пе тоатэ фаца пэмынтулуй, аша кэ ау ынчетат сэ зидяскэ четатя.
So Yahweh did that. As a result, the people stopped building the city, and Yahweh caused them to disperse all over the earth.
9 Де ачея, четатя а фост нумитэ Бабел, кэч аколо а ынкуркат Домнул лимба ынтрегулуй пэмынт ши де аколо й-а ымпрэштият Домнул пе тоатэ фаца пэмынтулуй.
The city was called Babel which means ‘confusion’, because there Yahweh caused the people to become confused because the people [MTY] spoke [different languages that the others could not understand], not just one language. From there Yahweh caused them to disperse all over the earth.
10 Ятэ спица нямулуй луй Сем. Ла вырста де о сутэ де ань, Сем а нэскут пе Арпакшад, ла дой ань дупэ потоп.
(This is a bigger list/I will now tell you more) of the descendants of Shem: Two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old, he became the father of Arpachshad.
11 Дупэ наштеря луй Арпакшад, Сем а трэит чинч суте де ань ши а нэскут фий ши фийче.
After Arpachshad was born, Shem lived 500 more years and had more sons and daughters.
12 Ла вырста де трейзечь ши чинч де ань, Арпакшад а нэскут пе Шелах.
When Arphachshad was 35 years old, he became the father of Shelah.
13 Дупэ наштеря луй Шелах, Арпакшад а май трэит патру суте трей ань ши а нэскут фий ши фийче.
After Shelah was born, Arpachshad lived 403 more years and became the father of more sons and daughters.
14 Ла вырста де трейзечь де ань, Шелах а нэскут пе Ебер.
When Shelah was 30 years old, he became the father of Eber.
15 Дупэ наштеря луй Ебер, Шелах а май трэит патру суте трей ань ши а нэскут фий ши фийче.
After Eber was born, Shelah lived 403 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
16 Ла вырста де трейзечь ши патру де ань, Ебер а нэскут пе Пелег.
When Eber was 34 years old, he became the father of Peleg.
17 Дупэ наштеря луй Пелег, Ебер а май трэит патру суте трейзечь де ань ши а нэскут фий ши фийче.
After Peleg was born, Eber lived 430 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
18 Ла вырста де трейзечь де ань, Пелег а нэскут пе Реу.
When Peleg was 30 years old, he became the father of Reu.
19 Дупэ наштеря луй Реу, Пелег а май трэит доуэ суте ноуэ ань ши а нэскут фий ши фийче.
After Reu was born, Peleg lived 209 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
20 Ла вырста де трейзечь ши дой де ань, Реу а нэскут пе Серуг.
When Reu was 32 years old, he became the father of Serug.
21 Дупэ наштеря луй Серуг, Реу а май трэит доуэ суте шапте ань ши а нэскут фий ши фийче.
After Serug was born, Reu lived 207 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
22 Ла вырста де трейзечь де ань, Серуг а нэскут пе Нахор.
When Serug was 30 years old, he became the father of Nahor.
23 Дупэ наштеря луй Нахор, Серуг а май трэит доуэ суте де ань ши а нэскут фий ши фийче.
After Nahor was born, Serug lived 200 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
24 Ла вырста де доуэзечь ши ноуэ де ань, Нахор а нэскут пе Терах.
When Nahor was 29 years old, he became the father of Terah.
25 Дупэ наштеря луй Терах, Нахор а май трэит о сутэ ноуэспрезече ань ши а нэскут фий ши фийче.
After Terah was born, Nahor lived 119 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
26 Ла вырста де шаптезечь де ань, Терах а нэскут пе Аврам, пе Нахор ши пе Харан.
When Terah was 70 years old, his son Abram was born. Later, two other sons, Nahor and Haran were born.
27 Ятэ спица нямулуй луй Терах. Терах а нэскут пе Аврам, пе Нахор ши пе Харан. Харан а нэскут пе Лот.
(This is/I will now give) a list of the descendants of Terah: Terah’s sons were Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran’s son was named Lot.
28 Ши Харан а мурит ын фаца татэлуй сэу Терах, ын цара ын каре се нэскусе, ын Ур, ын Халдея.
Haran died before his father died. He died in Ur [city] in Chaldea land, where he was born.
29 Аврам ши Нахор шь-ау луат невесте. Нумеле невестей луй Аврам ера Сарай ши нумеле невестей луй Нахор ера Милка, фийка луй Харан, татэл Милкэй ши Искэй.
Abram and Nahor both married. Abram’s wife was named Sarai, and Nahor’s wife was named Milcah. Milcah and her younger sister Iscah were the daughters of Haran.
30 Сарай ера стярпэ; н-авя копий делок.
Sarai was unable to bear any children.
31 Терах а луат пе фиул сэу Аврам ши пе Лот, фиул луй Харан, фиул фиулуй сэу, ши пе Сарай, норэ-са, неваста фиулуй сэу Аврам. Ау ешит ымпреунэ дин Ур, дин Халдея, ка сэ мяргэ ын цара Канаан. Ау венит пынэ ла Харан ши с-ау ашезат аколо.
Terah decided to leave Ur and go to live in Canaan land. So he took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and Abram’s wife Sarai with him. But instead of going to Canaan, they stopped at Haran [town] and lived there.
32 Зилеле луй Терах ау фост де доуэ суте чинч ань, ши Терах а мурит ын Харан.
When Terah was 205 years old, he died there in Haran.
