Еклезиастул 8

1 Чине есте ка чел ынцелепт ши чине причепе ростул лукрурилор? Ынцелепчуня омулуй ый луминязэ фаца, ши аспримя фецей и се скимбэ.

Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face is changed.

2 Еу ыць спун: Пэзеште порунчиле ымпэратулуй дин причина журэмынтулуй фэкут ынаинтя луй Думнезеу.

I counsel thee: keep the king's command, and that in regard of the oath of God.

3 Ну те грэби сэ плечь динаинтя луй ши ну стэруи ынтр-ун лукру рэу, кэч ел поате фаче тот че вря,

Be not hasty to go out of his presence; stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him.

4 пентру кэ ворба ымпэратулуй аре путере. Чине поате зиче: „Че фачь?”

Forasmuch as the king's word hath power; and who may say unto him: 'What doest thou?'

5 Пе чине пэзеште порунка, ну-л ва атинӂе ничо ненорочире, дар инима ынцелептулуй куноаште ши время, ши жудеката.

Whoso keepeth the commandment shall know no evil thing; and a wise man's heart discerneth time and judgment.

6 Кэч пентру орьче лукру есте о време ши о жудекатэ ши ненорочиря паште пе ом.

For to every matter there is a time and judgment; for the evil of man is great upon him.

7 Дар ел ну штие че ши кум се ва ынтымпла, кэч н-аре нич чине-й спуне.

For he knoweth not that which shall be; for even when it cometh to pass, who shall declare it unto him?

8 Омул ну есте стэпын пе суфларя луй, ка с-о поатэ опри, ши н-аре ничо путере песте зиуа морций; ын лупта ачаста ну есте избэвире, ши рэутатя ну поате скэпа пе чей рэй.

There is no man that hath power over the wind to retain the wind; neither hath he power over the day of death; and there is no discharge in war; neither shall wickedness deliver him that is given to it.

9 Тоате ачестя ле-ам вэзут ши мь-ам ындрептат инима спре тот че се фаче суб соаре. Есте о време кынд ун ом стэпынеште песте алт ом, ка сэ-л факэ ненорочит.

All this have I seen, even applied my heart thereto, whatever the work that is done under the sun; what time one man had power over another to his hurt.

10 Атунч ам вэзут пе чей рэй ынгропаць ши дукынду-се ла одихна лор, яр пе чей че лукрасерэ ку неприхэнире депэртынду-се де локул сфынт ши уйтаць ын четате. Ши ачаста есте о дешертэчуне!

And so I saw the wicked buried, and they entered into their rest; but they that had done right went away from the holy place, and were forgotten in the city; this also is vanity.

11 Пентру кэ ну се адуче репеде ла ындеплинире хотэрыря датэ ымпотрива фаптелор реле, де ачея есте плинэ инима фиилор оаменилор де доринца сэ факэ рэу.

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil;

12 Тотушь, мэкар кэ пэкэтосул фаче де о сутэ де орь рэул ши стэруеште мултэ време ын ел, еу штиу кэ феричиря есте пентру чей че се тем де Думнезеу ши ау фрикэ де Ел.

because a sinner doeth evil a hundred times, and prolongeth his days — though yet I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, that fear before Him;

13 Дар чел рэу ну есте феричит ши ну-шь ва лунӂи зилеле, ынтокмай ка умбра, пентру кэ н-аре фрикэ де Думнезеу.

but it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he feareth not before God.

14 Есте о дешертэчуне каре се петрече пе пэмынт: ши ануме сунт оамень неприхэниць кэрора ле мерӂе ка ши челор рэй, каре фак фапте реле, ши сунт рэй кэрора ле мерӂе ка ши челор неприхэниць, каре фак фапте буне. Еу зик кэ ши ачаста есте о дешертэчуне.

There is a vanity which is done upon the earth: that there are righteous men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there are wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous — I said that this also is vanity.

15 Ам лэудат дар петречеря, пентру кэ ну есте алтэ феричире пентру ом суб соаре декыт сэ мэнынче ши сэ бя ши сэ се веселяскэ; ятэ че требуе сэ-л ынсоцяскэ ын мижлокул мунчий луй, ын зилеле веций пе каре и ле дэ Думнезеу суб соаре.

So I commended mirth, that a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry, and that this should accompany him in his labour all the days of his life which God hath given him under the sun.

16 Кынд мь-ам пус инима сэ куноск ынцелепчуня ши сэ мэ уйт ку бэгаре де сямэ ла труда пе каре шь-о дэ омул пе пэмынт – кэч омул ну веде сомн ку окий, нич зи, нич ноапте –,

When I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth — for neither day nor night do men see sleep with their eyes —

17 ам вэзут атунч тоатэ лукраря луй Думнезеу, ам вэзут кэ омул ну поате сэ пэтрундэ че се фаче суб соаре; орькыт с-ар труди ел сэ черчетезе, тот ну ва путя афла ши, кяр дакэ ынцелептул ар зиче кэ а ажунс сэ ынцелягэ, тот ну поате сэ гэсяскэ.

then I beheld all the work of God, that man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun; because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further, though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.
