Еклезиастул 4
1 М-ам уйтат апой ла тоате асупририле каре се фак суб соаре; ши ятэ кэ чей апэсаць варсэ лакримь ши ну есте нимень сэ-й мынгые! Ей сунт прадэ силничией асуприторилор лор ши н-аре чине сэ-й мынгые!
I turned myself to other things, and I saw the oppressions that are done under the sun, and the tears of the innocent, and they had no comforter; and they were not able to resist their violence, being destitute of help from any.
2 Ши ам гэсит кэ морций каре ау мурит май ынаинте сунт май феричиць декыт чей вий, каре сунт ынкэ ын вяцэ.
And I praised the dead rather than the living:
3 Дар май феричит декыт амындой, ам гэсит пе чел че ну с-а нэскут ынкэ, фииндкэ н-а вэзут тоате релеле каре се петрек суб соаре.
And I judged him happier than them both, that is not yet born, nor hath seen the evils that are done under the sun.
4 Ам май вэзут кэ орьче мункэ ши орьче искусинцэ ла лукру ышь аре темеюл нумай ын пизма унуя асупра алтуя. Ши ачаста есте о дешертэчуне ши гоанэ дупэ вынт.
Again I considered all the labours of men, and I remarked that their industries are exposed to the envy of their neighhour: so in this also there is vanity, and fruitless care.
5 Небунул ышь ынкручишязэ мыниле ши ышь мэнынкэ ынсэшь карня луй.
The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh, saying:
6 Май бине о мынэ плинэ де одихнэ, декыт амындой пумний плинь де трудэ ши гоанэ дупэ вынт.
Better is a handful with rest, than both hands full with labour, and vexation of mind.
7 Ам май вэзут о алтэ дешертэчуне суб соаре.
Considering I found also another vanity under the sun:
8 Ун ом есте сингур-сингурел, н-аре нич фиу, нич фрате, ши тотушь мунка луй н-аре сфыршит, окий ну и се сатурэ ничодатэ де богэций ши ну се гындеште: „Пентру чине мунческ еу ши-мь липсеск суфлетул де плэчерь?” Ши ачаста есте о дешертэчуне ши ун лукру рэу.
There is but one, and he hath not a second, no child, no brother, and yet he ceaseth not to labour, neither are his eyes satisfied with riches, neither doth he reflect, saying: For whom do I labour, and defraud my soul of good things? in this also is vanity, and a grievous vexation.
9 Май бине дой декыт унул, кэч яу о платэ ку атыт май бунэ пентру мунка лор.
It is better therefore that two should be together, than one: for they have the advantage of their society:
10 Кэч, дакэ се ынтымплэ сэ кадэ, се ридикэ унул пе алтул. Дар вай де чине есте сингур ши каде фэрэ сэ айбэ пе алтул каре сэ-л ридиче!
If one fall he shall be supported by the other: woe to him that is alone, for when he falleth, he hath none to lift him up.
11 Тот аша, дакэ се кулкэ дой ымпреунэ, се ынкэлзеск унул пе алтул, дар кум аре сэ се ынкэлзяскэ дакэ е сингур?
And if two lie together, they shall warm one another: how shall one alone be warmed?
12 Ши дакэ се скоалэ чинева асупра унуя, дой пот сэ-й стя ымпотривэ; ши фуния ымплетитэ ын трей ну се рупе ушор.
And if a man prevail against one, two shall withstand him: a threefold cord is not easily broken.
13 Май бине ун копил сэрак ши ынцелепт декыт ун ымпэрат бэтрын ши фэрэ минте, каре ну ынцелеӂе кэ требуе сэ се ласе ындрумат;
Better is a child that is poor and wise, than a king that is old and foolish, who knoweth not to foresee for hereafter.
14 кэч ел поате сэ ясэ дин темницэ ка сэ домняскэ, мэкар кэ поате кяр сэ се фи нэскут сэрак ын ымпэрэция челуй дин урмэ.
Because out of prison and chains sometimes a man cometh forth to a kingdom: and another born king is consumed with poverty.
15 Ам вэзут пе тоць чей вий, каре умблэ суб соаре, ынконжурынд пе копилул каре авя сэ урмезе дупэ ымпэрат ши сэ домняскэ ын локул луй.
I saw all men living, that walk under the sun with the second young man, who shall rise up in his place.
16 Фэрэ сфыршит ера тот попорул ын фрунтя кэруя мерӂя ел. Ши тотушь чей че вор вени дупэ ел ну се вор букура де ел. Кэч ши ачаста есте о дешертэчуне ши гоанэ дупэ вынт.
The number of the people, of all that were before him is infinite: and they that shall come afterwards, shall not rejoice in him: but this also is vanity, and vexation of spirit.
