Еклезиастул 1
1 Кувинтеле Еклезиастулуй, фиул луй Давид, ымпэратул Иерусалимулуй.
The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.
2 О, дешертэчуне а дешертэчунилор, зиче Еклезиастул, о, дешертэчуне а дешертэчунилор! Тотул есте дешертэчуне.
Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities, all is vanity.
3 Че фолос аре омул дин тоатэ труда пе каре шь-о дэ суб соаре?
What profit has man from all his labor in which he labors under the sun?
4 Ун ням трече, алтул вине ши пэмынтул рэмыне вешник ын пичоаре.
One generation goes, and another generation comes, but the earth abides forever.
5 Соареле рэсаре, апуне ши аляргэ спре локул де унде рэсаре дин ноу.
The sun also arises, and the sun goes down and hastens to its place where it arises.
6 Вынтул суфлэ спре мязэзи ши се ынтоарче спре мязэноапте; апой ярэшь се ынтоарче ши ынчепе дин ноу ачеляшь ротитурь.
The wind goes toward the south, and turns around to the north. It turns around continually in its course, and the wind returns again to its circuits.
7 Тоате рыуриле се варсэ ын маре, ши маря тот ну се умпле: еле аляргэ некурмат спре локул де унде порнеск, ка ярэшь сэ порняскэ де аколо.
All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full. To the place from where the rivers come, there they go again.
8 Тоате лукруриле сунт ынтр-о некурматэ фрэмынтаре, аша кум ну се поате спуне; окюл ну се май сатурэ привинд ши урекя ну обосеште аузинд.
All things are full of weariness, man cannot utter it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
9 Че а фост ва май фи ши че с-а фэкут се ва май фаче; ну есте нимик ноу суб соаре.
That which has been is that which shall be, and that which has been done is that which shall be done. And there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Дакэ есте вреун лукру деспре каре с-ар путя спуне: „Ятэ чева ноу!”, демулт лукрул ачела ера ши ын вякуриле динаинтя ноастрэ.
Is there a thing of which it may be said, See, this is new? It has been long ago, in the ages which were before us.
11 Нимень ну-шь май адуче аминте де че а фост май ынаинте; ши че ва май фи, че се ва май ынтымпла май пе урмэ, ну ва лэса ничо урмэ де адучере аминте ла чей че вор трэи май тырзиу.
There is no remembrance of the former things, nor shall there be any remembrance of the latter that are to come, among those who shall come after.
12 Еу, Еклезиастул, ам фост ымпэрат песте Исраел, ын Иерусалим.
I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.
13 Мь-ам пус инима сэ черчетез ши сэ адынческ ку ынцелепчуне тот че се ынтымплэ суб черурь: ятэ о ынделетничире плинэ де трудэ, ла каре супуне Думнезеу пе фиий оаменилор.
And I applied my heart to seek and to search out by wisdom concerning all that is done under heaven. It is a great tribulation that God has given to the sons of men to be exercised therewith.
14 Ам вэзут тот че се фаче суб соаре; ши ятэ кэ тотул есте дешертэчуне ши гоанэ дупэ вынт!
I have seen all the works that are done under the sun, and, behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind.
15 Че есте стрымб ну се поате ындрепта ши че липсеште ну поате фи трекут ла нумэр.
That which is crooked cannot be made straight, and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.
16 Ам зис ын мине ынсумь: „Ятэ кэ ам спорит ши ам ынтрекут ын ынцелепчуне пе тоць чей че ау стэпынит ынаинтя мя песте Иерусалим ши минтя мя а вэзут мултэ ынцелепчуне ши штиинцэ.”
I communed with my own heart, saying, Lo, I have gotten for me great wisdom above all who were before me in Jerusalem. Yea, my heart has had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.
17 Мь-ам пус инима сэ куноск ынцелепчуня ши сэ куноск простия ши небуния. Дар ам ынцелес кэ ши ачаста есте гоанэ дупэ вынт.
And I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also was a striving after wind.
18 Кэч унде есте мултэ ынцелепчуне, есте ши мулт неказ, ши чине штие мулте аре ши мултэ дурере.
For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.
