1 Лепэдаць дар орьче рэутате, орьче виклешуг, орьче фел де префэкэторие, де пизмэ ши де клеветире
Rid yourselves therefore of all ill-will and all deceitfulness, of insincerity and envy, and of all evil speaking.
2 ши, ка ниште прунчь нэскуць де курынд, сэ дориць лаптеле духовническ ши курат, пентру ка прин ел сэ крештець спре мынтуире,
Thirst, like newly-born infants, for pure milk for the soul, that by it you may grow up to salvation;
3 дакэ аць густат ын адевэр кэ бун есте Домнул.
if you have had any experience of the goodness of the Lord.
4 Апропияци-вэ де Ел, пятра вие, лепэдатэ де оамень, дар алясэ ши скумпэ ынаинтя луй Думнезеу.
Come to Him, the ever-living Stone, rejected indeed by men as worthless, but in God's esteem chosen and held in honour.
5 Ши вой, ка ниште петре вий, сунтець зидиць ка сэ фиць о касэ духовничяскэ, о преоцие сфынтэ, ши сэ адучець жертфе духовничешть плэкуте луй Думнезеу, прин Исус Христос.
And be yourselves also like living stones that are being built up into a spiritual house, to become a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6 Кэч есте скрис ын Скриптурэ: „Ятэ кэ пун ын Сион о пятрэ дин капул унгюлуй, алясэ, скумпэ; ши чине се ынкреде ын Ел ну ва фи дат де рушине.”
For it is contained in Scripture, "See, I am placing on Mount Zion a Cornerstone, chosen, and held in honour, and he whose faith rests on Him shall never have reason to feel ashamed."
7 Чинстя ачаста есте дар пентру вой каре аць крезут! Дар пентру чей некрединчошь, „Пятра пе каре ау лепэдат-о зидарий а ажунс сэ фие пусэ ын капул унгюлуй”
To you believers, therefore, that honour belongs; but for unbelievers-- "A Stone which the builders rejected has been made the Cornerstone,"
8 ши „о пятрэ де потикнире ши о стынкэ де кэдере”. Ей се ловеск де еа, пентру кэ н-ау крезут Кувынтул, ши ла ачаста сунт рындуиць.
and "a Stone for the foot to strike against, and a Rock to stumble over." Their foot strikes against it because they are disobedient to God's Message, and to this they were appointed.
9 Вой ынсэ сунтець о семинцие алясэ, о преоцие ымпэрэтяскэ, ун ням сфынт, ун попор пе каре Думнезеу Ши л-а кыштигат ка сэ фие ал Луй, ка сэ вестиць путериле минунате але Челуй че в-а кемат дин ынтунерик ла лумина Са минунатэ;
But you are a chosen race, a priesthood of kingly lineage, a holy nation, a people belonging specially to God, that you may make known the perfections of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.
10 пе вой, каре одиниоарэ ну ераць ун попор, дар акум сунтець попорул луй Думнезеу; пе вой, каре ну кэпэтасерэць ындураре, дар акум аць кэпэтат ындураре.
Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God. Once you had not found mercy, but now you have.
11 Пряюбицилор, вэ сфэтуеск, ка пе ниште стрэинь ши кэлэторь, сэ вэ фериць де пофтеле фирий пэмынтешть, каре се рэзбоеск ку суфлетул.
Dear friends, I entreat you as pilgrims and foreigners not to indulge the cravings of your lower natures: for all such cravings wage war upon the soul.
12 Сэ авець о пуртаре бунэ ын мижлокул нямурилор, пентру ка, ын чея че вэ ворбеск де рэу ка пе ниште фэкэторь де реле, прин фаптеле воастре буне пе каре ле вэд, сэ слэвяскэ пе Думнезеу ын зиуа черчетэрий.
Live honourable lives among the Gentiles, in order that, although they now speak against you as evil-doers, they may yet witness your good conduct, and may glorify God on the day of reward and retribution.
13 Фиць супушь орькэрей стэпынирь оменешть, пентру Домнул: атыт ымпэратулуй, ка ыналт стэпынитор,
Submit, for the Lord's sake, to every authority set up by man, whether it be to the Emperor as supreme ruler,
14 кыт ши дрегэторилор, ка уний каре сунт тримишь де ел сэ педепсяскэ пе фэкэторий де реле ши сэ лауде пе чей че фак бине.
or to provincial Governors as sent by him for the punishment of evil-doers and the encouragement of those who do what is right.
15 Кэч воя луй Думнезеу есте ка, фэкынд че есте бине, сэ аступаць гура оаменилор нештиуторь ши прошть.
For it is God's will that by doing what is right you should thus silence the ignorant talk of foolish persons.
16 Пуртаци-вэ ка ниште оамень слобозь, фэрэ сэ фачець дин слобозения ачаста о хайнэ а рэутэций, чи ка ниште робь ай луй Думнезеу.
Be free men, and yet do not make your freedom an excuse for base conduct, but be God's bondservants.
17 Чинстиць пе тоць оамений; юбиць пе фраць; темеци-вэ де Думнезеу; даць чинсте ымпэратулуй!
Honour every one. Love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the Emperor.
18 Слуӂилор, фиць супусе стэпынилор воштри ку тоатэ фрика, ну нумай челор че сунт бунь ши блынзь, чи ши челор греу де мулцумит.
Household servants, be submissive to your masters, and show them the utmost respect--not only if they are kind and thoughtful, but also if they are unreasonable.
19 Кэч есте ун лукру плэкут дакэ чинева, пентру куӂетул луй фацэ де Думнезеу, суферэ ынтристаре ши суферэ пе недрепт.
For it is an acceptable thing with God, if, from a sense of duty to Him, a man patiently submits to wrong, when treated unjustly.
20 Ын адевэр, че фалэ есте сэ суфериць ку рэбдаре сэ фиць пэлмуиць, кынд аць фэкут рэу? Дар дакэ суфериць ку рэбдаре, кынд аць фэкут че есте бине, лукрул ачеста есте плэкут луй Думнезеу.
If you do wrong and receive a blow for it, what credit is there in your bearing it patiently? But if when you do right and suffer for it you bear it patiently, this is an acceptable thing with God.
21 Ши ла ачаста аць фост кемаць, фииндкэ ши Христос а суферит пентру вой ши в-а лэсат о пилдэ, ка сэ кэлкаць пе урмеле Луй.
And it is to this you were called; because Christ also suffered on your behalf, leaving you an example so that you should follow in His steps.
22 „Ел н-а фэкут пэкат ши ын гура Луй ну с-а гэсит виклешуг.”
He never sinned, and no deceitful language was ever heard from His mouth.
23 Кынд ера батжокорит, ну рэспундя ку батжокурь ши, кынд ера кинуит, ну аменинца, чи Се супуня дрептулуй Жудекэтор.
When He was reviled, He did not answer with reviling; when He suffered He uttered no threats, but left His wrongs in the hands of the righteous Judge.
24 Ел а пуртат пэкателе ноастре ын трупул Сэу, пе лемн, пентру ка ной, фиинд морць фацэ де пэкате, сэ трэим пентру неприхэнире; прин рэниле Луй аць фост виндекаць.
The burden of our sins He Himself carried in His own body to the Cross and bore it there, so that we, having died so far as our sins are concerned, may live righteous lives. By His wounds yours have been healed.
25 Кэч ераць ка ниште ой рэтэчите. Дар акум в-аць ынторс ла Пэсторул ши Епископул суфлетелор воастре.
For you were straying like lost sheep, but now you have come back to the Shepherd and Protector of your souls.
