1 Филистений с-ау луптат ку Исраел, ши оамений луй Исраел ау луат-о ла фугэ ынаинтя филистенилор ши ау кэзут морць пе мунтеле Гилбоа.
Now the Philistines fought against Israel, and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down wounded in mount Gelboe.
2 Филистений ау урмэрит пе Саул ши пе фиий луй ши ау учис пе Ионатан, Абинадаб ши Малки-Шуа, фиий луй Саул.
And the Philistines drew near pursuing after Saul, and his sons, and they killed Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Melchisua the sons of Saul.
3 Ынвэлмэшяла луптей а принс ши пе Саул; аркаший л-ау ажунс ши л-ау рэнит.
And the battle grew hard against Saul, and the archers reached him, and wounded him with arrows.
4 Саул а зис атунч челуй че-й дучя армеле: „Скоате-ць сабия ши стрэпунӂе-мэ ку еа, ка ну кумва сэ винэ ачешть нетэяць ымпрежур сэ мэ батжокоряскэ.” Чел че-й дучя армеле н-а воит, кэч се темя. Ши Саул шь-а луат сабия ши с-а арункат ын еа.
And Saul said to his armourbearer: Draw thy sword, and kill me: lest these uncircumcised come, and mock me. But his armourbearer would not, for he was struck with fear: so Saul took his sword, and fell upon it.
5 Чел че дучя армеле луй Саул, вэзынду-л морт, с-а арункат ши ел ын сабия луй ши а мурит.
And when his armourbearer saw it, to wit, that Saul was dead, he also fell upon his sword and died.
6 Астфел ау перит Саул ши чей трей фий ай луй, ши тоатэ каса луй а перит ын ачелашь тимп.
So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house fell together.
7 Тоць бэрбаций луй Исраел каре ерау ын вале, вэзынд фуга ши вэзынд кэ Саул ши фиий луй ау мурит, шь-ау пэрэсит четэциле ши ау фуӂит ши ей. Ши филистений ау венит ши с-ау ашезат аколо.
And when the men of Israel, that dwelt in the plains, saw this, they fled: and Saul and his sons being dead, they forsook their cities, and were scattered up and down: and the Philistines came, and dwelt in them.
8 А доуа зи, филистений ау венит сэ жефуяскэ морций ши ау гэсит пе Саул ши пе фиий луй кэзуць пе мунтеле Гилбоа.
And the next day the Philistines taking away the spoils of them that were slain, found Saul and his sons lying on mount Gelboe.
9 Л-ау жефуит ши й-ау луат капул ши армеле. Апой ау тримис сэ дя де штире прин тоатэ цара филистенилор, идолилор лор ши попорулуй.
And when they had stripped him, and cut off his head, and taken away his armour, they sent it into their land, to be carried about, and shewn in the temples of the idols and to the people.
10 Ау пус армеле луй Саул ын каса думнезеулуй лор ши й-ау атырнат цяста капулуй ын темплул луй Дагон.
And his armour they dedicated in the temple of their god, and his head they fastened up in the temple of Dagon.
11 Кынд ау аузит тоць локуиторий дин Иабесул дин Галаад тот че ау фэкут филистений луй Саул,
And when the men of Jabes Galaad had heard this, to wit, all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
12 с-ау скулат тоць оамений витежь, ау луат трупул луй Саул ши трупуриле фиилор луй ши ле-ау дус ла Иабес. Ле-ау ынгропат оаселе суб стежар, ла Иабес, ши ау постит шапте зиле.
All the valiant men of them arose, and took the bodies of Saul and of his sons, and brought them to Jabes, and buried their bones under the oak that was in Jabes, and they fasted seven days.
13 Саул а мурит пентру кэ с-а фэкут виноват де фэрэделеӂе фацэ де Домнул, ал кэруй кувынт ну л-а пэзит, ши пентру кэ а ынтребат ши а черут сфатул челор че кямэ морций.
So Saul died for his iniquities, because he transgressed the commandment of the Lord, which he had commanded, and kept it not: and moreover consulted also a witch,
14 Н-а ынтребат пе Домнул, де ачея Домнул л-а оморыт, ши ымпэрэция а дат-о луй Давид, фиул луй Исай.
And trusted not is the Lord: therefore he slew him, and transferred his kingdom to David the son of Isai.
