Ruth 3

1 Atunci Naomi, soacra ei, i-a spus: Fiica mea, să nu caut odihnă pentru tine, ca să îţi fie bine?

And her mother-in-law Naomi says to her, “My daughter, do I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?

2 Şi acum, nu este Boaz din rudenia noastră, cu ale cărui tinere ai fost? Iată, deseară el vântură orzul în arie.

And now, is not Boaz of our acquaintance, with whose young women you have been? Behold, he is winnowing the threshing-floor of barley tonight,

3 De aceea spală-te şi unge-te şi pune­-ţi haina pe tine şi coboară-te la arie, dar nu te face cunoscută bărbatului, până va fi terminat de mâncat şi de băut.

and you have bathed, and anointed yourself, and put your garments on you, and gone down to the threshing-floor; do not let yourself be known to the man until he completes to eat and to drink;

4 Şi aşa va fi, când se culcă, însemnează locul unde se culcă şi intră şi dezveleşte-i picioarele şi culcă-te; iar el îţi va spune ce să faci.

and it comes to pass, when he lies down, that you have known the place where he lies down, and have gone in, and uncovered his feet, and lain down—and he declares to you that which you do.”

5 Iar Rut i-a spus: Voi face tot ce îmi spui.

And she says to her, “All that you say—I do.”

6 Şi a coborât la arie şi a făcut conform cu tot ce i-a poruncit soacra ei.

And she goes down [to] the threshing-floor, and does according to all that her mother-in-law commanded her

7 Şi după ce Boaz a mâncat şi a băut şi inima lui era veselă, a mers să se culce la capătul stogului de grâne; şi ea a venit încet şi i-a dezvelit picioarele şi s-a întins.

And Boaz eats and drinks, and his heart is glad; and he goes in to lie down at the end of the heap; and she comes in gently, and uncovers his feet, and lies down.

8 Şi s-a întâmplat, la miezul nopţii, că bărbatul s-a speriat şi s-a întors; şi, iată, o femeie întinsă la picioarele lui.

And it comes to pass, at the middle of the night, that the man trembles, and turns himself, and behold, a woman is lying at his feet.

9 Şi el a spus: Cine eşti? Iar ea a răspuns: Eu sunt Rut, roaba ta, de aceea întinde­-ţi învelitoarea peste roaba ta, pentru că eşti răscumpărătorul meu.

And he says, “Who [are] you?” And she says, “I [am] Ruth your handmaid, and you have spread your skirt over your handmaid, for you [are] a redeemer.”

10 Iar el a spus: Binecuvântată fii de DOMNUL, fiica mea, fiindcă ai arătat mai multă bunătate la sfârşit decât la început, deoarece nu te-ai dus după tineri, fie săraci, fie bogaţi.

And he says, “Blessed [are] you of YHWH, my daughter; you have dealt more kindly at the latter end than at the beginning—not to go after the young men, either poor or rich.

11 Şi acum, fiica mea, nu te teme, îţi voi face tot ceea ce ceri, fiindcă toată cetatea poporului meu ştie că eşti o femeie virtuoasă.

And now, my daughter, do not fear, all that you say I do to you, for all the gate of my people knows that you [are] a virtuous woman.

12 Şi acum este adevărat că eu sunt răscumpărătorul tău; totuşi, este un răscumpărător mai aproape decât mine.

And now, surely, true, that I [am] a redeemer, but also there is a redeemer nearer than I.

13 Rămâi în această noapte şi dimineaţă va fi aşa, dacă te va răscumpăra, bine; să te răscumpere; dar dacă nu voieşte să te răscumpere, atunci te voi răscumpăra eu, precum DOMNUL trăieşte; întinde-te până dimineaţa.

Lodge tonight, and it has been in the morning, if he redeems you, well: he redeems; and if he does not delight to redeem you, then I have redeemed you—I; YHWH lives! Lie down until the morning.”

14 Şi ea s-a întins la picioarele lui până dimineaţa; şi ea s-a ridicat înainte de a se putea cunoaşte unul pe altul. Iar el a spus: Să nu se ştie că o femeie a venit în arie.

And she lies down at his feet until the morning, and rises before one discerns another; and he says, “Let it not be known that the woman has come into the floor.”

15 Şi a mai spus: Adu voalul pe care îl ai pe tine şi ţine-l. Şi când ea l-a ţinut, el i-a măsurat şase măsuri de orz şi le-a aşezat pe ea; şi ea a mers în cetate.

And he says, “Give the covering which [is] on you, and keep hold on it”; and she keeps hold on it, and he measures six [measures] of barley, and lays [it] on her; and he goes into the city.

16 Şi când a venit la soacra ei, Naomi a spus: Cine eşti tu, fiica mea? Iar Rut i-a spus tot ce i-a făcut acel bărbat.

And she comes to her mother-in-law, and she says, “Who [are] you, my daughter?” And she declares to her all that the man has done to her.

17 Şi a zis: Mi-a dat aceste şase măsuri de orz, fiindcă mi-a spus: Nu merge la soacra ta cu mâna goală.

And she says, “These six [measures] of barley he has given to me, for he said, You do not go in empty to your mother-in-law.”

18 Atunci ea a zis: Stai liniştită, fiica mea, până ce cunoşti cum se va termina acest lucru, fiindcă bărbatul nu se va odihni până ce nu va fi terminat acest lucru astăzi.

And she says, “Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter falls, for the man does not rest except he has completed the matter today.”
