Apocolipsa 17
1 Și a venit unul dintre cei șapte îngeri care aveau cele șapte potire și a vorbit cu mine, spunându-mi: Vino aici; îți voi arăta judecata curvei cea mare ce șade pe multe ape;
Then one of the seven angels who held the seven bowls came and spoke to me. ‘Come here,’ he said, ‘and I will show you the sentence passed on that infamous prostitute who is seated at the meeting of many waters,
2 Cu care au curvit împărații pământului și locuitorii pământului s-au îmbătat din vinul curviei ei.
and with whom all the kings of the earth have had licentious intercourse; while all who live on the earth have been make drunk by the wine of her licentiousness.’
3 Și m-a purtat în duh într-o pustie; și am văzut o femeie așezată pe o fiară colorată stacojiu, plină de nume ale blasfemiei, având șapte capete și zece coarne.
And he bore me away in a trance to a lonely place, and I saw a woman seated on a scarlet Beast, which was covered with blasphemous names; it had seven heads and ten horns.
4 Și femeia era îmbrăcată în purpură și în stacojiu, și împodobită cu aur și pietre prețioase și perle, având în mâna ei un pahar de aur plin de urâciuni și de murdăria curviei sale;
The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and glittering with gold ornaments, precious stones, and pearls. In her hand she held a gold cup, full of idolatrous abominations, and the unclean fruits of her licentiousness;
5 Și pe fruntea ei era scris un nume: MISTER, BABILONUL CEL MARE, MAMA CURVELOR ȘI A URÂCIUNILOR PĂMÂNTULUI.
while on her forehead was inscribed a name that had a hidden meaning: ‘Babylon the Great, mother of all prostitutes, source of all obscenities on earth.’
6 Și am văzut femeia îmbătată cu sângele sfinților și cu sângele martirilor lui Isus; și când am văzut-o, m-am minunat cu mare uimire.
And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of Christ’s people and with the blood of the martyrs for Jesus. When I saw her, I was amazed beyond measure;
7 Și îngerul mi-a spus: De ce te-ai minunat? Eu îți voi spune misterul femeii și al fiarei care o poartă, care are cele șapte capete și zece coarne.
but the angel said to me – ‘Why were you amazed? I will tell you the mystic meaning of the vision of this woman, and of the Beast, with the seven heads and ten horns, that carries her.
8 Fiara pe care ai văzut-o era și nu este; și se va ridica din groapa fără fund și va merge în pieire; și se vor minuna cei ce locuiesc pe pământ, ale căror nume nu au fost scrise în cartea vieții de la întemeierea lumii, când ei privesc fiara care era și nu este, și totuși este. (Abyssos g12)
The Beast that you saw was, but is not, and is about to rise out of the bottomless pit, and is on its way to destruction. Those who are living on earth will be amazed – those whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world – when they see that the Beast was, but is not, and yet will come.’ (Abyssos g12)
9 Și aici este mintea care are înțelepciune. Cele șapte capete sunt șapte munți pe care șade femeia.
(Here there is need for the discerning mind.) The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated.
10 Și sunt șapte împărați; cinci au căzut și unul este și celălalt încă nu a venit; și când vine, trebuie să rămână puțin timp.
They are also seven kings; of whom five have fallen and one remains, while one is not yet come. When he comes, he must stay for a little while.
11 Și fiara care era și nu este, chiar ea este a opta, și este din cei șapte și merge în pieire.
So must the Beast that was, but is not. He counts as an eighth king, although he is one of the seven, and is on his way to destruction.
12 Și cele zece coarne pe care le-ai văzut sunt zece împărați care până acum nu au primit împărăție; dar primesc putere, ca împărați, o oră cu fiara.
The ten horns that you saw are ten kings, who have not yet received their kingdoms, but for an hour they receive the authority of kings, together with the Beast.
13 Aceștia au o singură voință și vor da puterea și tăria lor fiarei.
These kings are of one mind in surrendering their power and authority to the Beast.
14 Aceștia vor face război cu Mielul și Mielul îi va învinge, pentru că el este Domnul domnilor și Împăratul împăraților; și cei ce sunt cu el sunt chemați și aleși și credincioși.
They will fight with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings; so, too, will those with him who have received the call and are chosen and faithful.
15 Și el îmi spune: Apele pe care le-ai văzut, unde șade curva, sunt popoare și mulțimi și națiuni și limbi.
And the angel said to me – ‘The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are throngs of people and men of all nations and languages.
16 Și cele zece coarne pe care le-ai văzut pe fiară, acestea vor urî pe curvă și o vor face pustie și goală, și carnea ei o vor mânca și o vor arde cu foc.
The ten horns that you saw, and the Beast – they will hate the prostitute, and cause her to become deserted and strip her bare; they will eat her flesh and utterly consume her with fire.
17 Fiindcă Dumnezeu a pus în inimile lor să împlinească voința lui și să facă un acord și să dea împărăția lor fiarei, până când vor fi împlinite cuvintele lui Dumnezeu.
For God has put it into their minds to carry out his purpose, in carrying out their common purpose and surrendering their kingdoms to the Beast, until God’s decrees will be executed.
18 Iar femeia pe care ai văzut-o, este acea cetate mare care domnește peste împărații pământului.
As for the woman whom you saw, she is the great city that holds sway over all the kings of the earth.’
