Psalmii 91
1 Cel ce locuiește în locul tainic al celui Preaînalt va trăi la umbra celui Atotputernic.
He who sitteth under the shelter of the Most High Maketh his abode in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 Voi spune despre DOMNUL: El este locul meu de scăpare și fortăreața mea, Dumnezeul meu; în el mă voi încrede.
I say to the LORD, Thou art my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.
3 Cu adevărat el te va elibera din lațul păsărarului și din ciuma vătămătoare.
Surely he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the wasting pestilence;
4 El te va acoperi cu penele sale și sub aripile lui te vei adăposti, adevărul lui îți va fi scut și platoșă.
He will cover thee with his feathers, And under his wings shalt thou find refuge; His faithfulness shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Nu te vei înspăimânta de teroarea din timpul nopții, nici de săgeata care zboară ziua.
Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror of the night, Nor of the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nici de ciuma care umblă în întuneric, nici de distrugerea care pustiește la amiază.
Nor of the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor of the plague that destroyeth at noonday.
7 O mie vor cădea lângă tine și zece mii la dreapta ta, dar de tine nu se va apropia.
A thousand shall fall by thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; But thee it shall not touch.
8 Doar vei privi cu ochii tăi și vei vedea răsplata celor stricați.
Thou shalt only behold with thine eyes, And see the recompense of the wicked.
9 Deoarece l-ai făcut pe DOMNUL locuința ta, pe cel Preaînalt, locul tău de scăpare,
Because thou hast made the LORD thy refuge, And the Most High thy habitation,
10 Nu ți se va întâmpla nimic rău, nici plagă nu se va apropia de locuința ta.
No evil shall befall thee, Nor any plague come near thy dwelling.
11 Pentru că el va porunci îngerilor săi referitor la tine, să te păzească în toate căile tale.
For he will give his angels charge over thee, To guard thee in all thy ways.
12 Ei pe mâini te vor purta, ca să nu îți lovești piciorul de vreo piatră.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Vei călca pe leu și viperă, pe leul tânăr și pe dragon îi vei călca în picioare.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and the adder; The young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under foot.
14 Pentru că și-a pus dragostea în mine, de aceea îl voi scăpa, îl voi așeza în înalt, deoarece a cunoscut numele meu.
“Because he loveth me, I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knoweth my name.
15 Mă va chema și îi voi răspunde, voi fi cu el în tulburare; îl voi elibera și îl voi onora.
When he calleth upon me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and bring him to honor.
16 Cu viață lungă îl voi sătura și îi voi arăta salvarea mea.
With long life will I satisfy him, And show him my salvation.”
