Psalmii 9

1 Mai marelui muzician, conform melodiei mutlaben, un psalm al lui David. Te voi lăuda, DOAMNE, cu întreaga mea inimă; voi istorisi toate lucrările tale minunate.

To the chief Musician. Upon Muthlabben. A Psalm of David. I will praise Jehovah with my whole heart; I will recount all thy marvellous works.

2 Mă voi veseli și mă voi bucura în tine; voi cânta laudă numelui tău, O, tu, cel Preaînalt.

I will be glad and rejoice in thee; I will sing forth thy name, O Most High.

3 După ce dușmanii mei vor da înapoi, vor cădea și vor pieri la prezența ta,

When mine enemies turned back, they stumbled and perished at thy presence:

4 Pentru că ai susținut dreptul meu și cauza mea; ai șezut pe tron, judecând drept.

For thou hast maintained my right and my cause. Thou sittest on the throne, judging righteously.

5 Ai mustrat păgânii, ai nimicit pe cei stricați, le-ai șters numele pentru totdeauna și întotdeauna.

Thou hast rebuked the nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked; thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.

6 O, dușmanule! Distrugerile s-au sfârșit pentru totdeauna; ai distrus cetăți și amintirea lor a pierit cu ele.

O enemy! destructions are ended for ever. — Thou hast also destroyed cities, even the remembrance of them hath perished.

7 Dar DOMNUL va dăinui pentru totdeauna; și-a pregătit tronul său pentru judecată.

But Jehovah sitteth for ever; he hath ordained his throne for judgment.

8 Și va judeca lumea în dreptate, în integritate va administra judecată popoarelor.

And it is he that will judge the world with righteousness; he shall execute judgment upon the peoples with equity.

9 DOMNUL va fi de asemenea un loc de scăpare pentru cel oprimat, un loc de scăpare în timpuri de necaz.

And Jehovah will be a refuge to the oppressed one, a refuge in times of distress.

10 Și cei ce cunosc numele tău își vor pune încrederea în tine, pentru că tu, DOAMNE, nu ai părăsit pe cei ce te caută.

And they that know thy name will confide in thee; for thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

11 Cântați laude DOMNULUI care locuiește în Sion; vestiți între popoare facerile lui.

Sing psalms to Jehovah who dwelleth in Zion; tell among the peoples his doings.

12 Când cercetează vărsarea de sânge, își amintește de ei, el nu uită strigătul celui umil.

For when he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them; the cry of the afflicted ones hath he not forgotten.

13 Ai milă de mine, DOAMNE, privește tulburarea mea din partea celor ce mă urăsc, tu, care mă ridici de la porțile morții,

Be gracious unto me, O Jehovah; consider mine affliction from them that hate me, lifting me up from the gates of death:

14 Ca să istorisesc toată lauda ta în porțile fiicei Sionului; mă voi bucura în salvarea ta.

That I may declare all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will be joyful in thy salvation.

15 Păgânii sunt scufundați în groapa pe care au făcut-o; piciorul le este prins în plasa pe care au ascuns-o.

The nations are sunk down in the pit [that] they made; in the net that they hid is their own foot taken.

16 DOMNUL este cunoscut prin judecata pe care o face; cel stricat este prins în lucrarea propriilor mâini. (Higaion, Selah)

Jehovah is known [by] the judgment he hath executed: the wicked is ensnared in the work of his own hands. (Higgaion, Selah)

17 Cei stricați vor fi întorși în iad împreună cu toate națiunile care uită pe Dumnezeu. (Sheol h7585)

The wicked shall be turned into Sheol, all the nations that forget God. (Sheol h7585)

18 Căci cei nevoiași nu vor fi uitați întotdeauna; speranța celor săraci nu va pieri pentru totdeauna.

For the needy one shall not be forgotten alway; the hope of the meek shall not perish for ever.

19 Ridică-te, DOAMNE, să nu învingă omul; să fie judecați păgânii înaintea ta.

Arise, Jehovah; let not man prevail: let the nations be judged in thy sight.

20 Umple-i de groază, DOAMNE, ca națiunile să știe că ele însele sunt doar oameni. (Selah)

Put them in fear, Jehovah: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. (Selah)
