Psalmii 72
1 Un psalm pentru Solomon. Dă împăratului judecățile tale, Dumnezeule, și dreptatea ta fiului împăratului.
Solomon’s. O God! thy justice, give, unto the king, And thy righteousness, unto the son of a king;
2 El va judeca poporul tău cu dreptate și pe săracii tăi cu judecată.
May he judge, Thy people with righteousness; And thine oppressed ones with justice;
3 Munții și dealurile mici vor aduce pace poporului, prin dreptate.
May the mountains bring peace to the people, And the hills [be laden] with righteousness;
4 El va judeca pe săracii poporului, va salva pe copiii celui nevoiaș și va rupe în bucăți pe opresor.
May he, Vindicate the oppressed of the people, Bring deliverance to the children of the needy, and, Crush the oppressor.
5 Ei se vor teme de tine cât timp soarele și luna dăinuiește, din generație în generație.
Let men revere thee, With the sun, And in presence of the moon, Unto the remotest generation.
6 El va coborî ca ploaia peste iarba cosită, ca ploile ce adapă pământul.
Let him come down, Like rain on fields to be mown, Like myriad drops on land to be reaped.
7 În zilele lui cel drept va înflori; și abundență de pace atât timp cât luna dăinuiește.
May righteousness, in his days, blossom forth, And abundance of peace, till there be no moon.
8 El va stăpâni de asemenea de la mare la mare și de la râu până la marginile pământului.
So let him have dominion, From sea to sea, And from the River ["Euphrates"] unto the ends of the earth;
9 Cei ce locuiesc în pustie se vor pleca înaintea lui; și dușmanii lui vor linge țărâna.
Before him, let the men of the desert kneel, But, as for his foes, the dust, let them lick;
10 Împărații din Tarsis și din insule vor aduce daruri, împărații din Seba și Saba vor oferi daruri.
The kings of Tarshish and of the Coastlands, A gift, let them render, The kings of Sheba and Seba, A present, let them bring;
11 Da, toți împărații se vor prosterna înaintea lui, toate națiunile îl vor servi.
Yea let all kings, bow down unto him, Let, all nations, serve him;
12 Pentru că va elibera pe cel nevoiaș când strigă, pe cel sărac de asemenea și pe cel ce nu are ajutor.
Because he Rescueth, The needy from the rich, The oppressed, who hath no helper;
13 Va cruța pe cel sărac și nevoiaș și va salva sufletele celor nevoiași.
He Pitieth the weak and the needy, And, the lives of the needy, he Saveth:
14 Le va răscumpăra sufletul din înșelăciune și violență și prețios va fi sângele lor înaintea ochilor săi.
From extortion, and, violence, he Redeemeth their life, And precious is their blood in his sight.
15 Și el va trăi și i se va da din aurul din Seba, rugăciune de asemenea va fi făcută pentru el neîncetat; și zilnic va fi el lăudat.
Let him live, then! And be there given unto him of the gold of Sheba, —Let prayer also be offered for him continually, All the day, let him be blessed.
16 Va fi o mână plină de grâne pe pământ pe vârful munților; rodul lor se va legăna ca Libanul și cei din cetate vor înflori ca iarba pământului.
May there be an abundance of corn in the earth, in the top of the mountains, —Let the fruit thereof, wave like Lebanon, And they of the city bloom like the fresh shoots of the earth.
17 Numele lui va dăinui pentru totdeauna, numele lui va dăinui tot atât cât soarele; și oamenii vor fi binecuvântați în el, toate națiunile îl vor numi binecuvântat.
May his Name be age-abiding, In the presence of the sun, let his Name flourish, —And may all the families of the ground bless themselves in him, All nations, pronounce him happy!
18 Binecuvântat fie DOMNUL Dumnezeu, Dumnezeul lui Israel, care face doar lucruri minunate.
Blessed be Yahweh God, the God of Israel, —Who doeth wondrous things by himself alone;
19 Și binecuvântat fie numele lui glorios pentru totdeauna și să fie umplut întreg pământul cu gloria lui. Amin și Amin.
And blessed be his glorious Name, unto times age-abiding, —And filled with his glory be all the earth, Amen and Amen!
20 Rugăciunile lui David, fiul lui Isai, s-au sfârșit.
Ended are the prayers of David, son of Jesse.
