Psalmii 60
1 Mai marelui muzician, ca și „Crinul Mărturiei,” Mictam al lui David, pentru a fi învățat; când s-a luptat cu Aramnaharaim și cu Aramțoba, când Ioab s-a întors și a lovit douăsprezece mii din Edom în valea sării. Dumnezeule, ne-ai lepădat, ne-ai împrăștiat, ai fost nemulțumit; întoarce-te din nou spre noi.
To the chief Musician. On Shushan. Testimony. Michtam of David; to teach: when he strove with the Syrians of Mesopotamia, and the Syrians of Zobah, and Joab returned, and smote the Edomites in the valley of salt, twelve thousand. O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased: restore us again.
2 Ai cutremurat pământul; l-ai despicat, vindecă-i spărturile, căci se zguduie.
Thou hast made the earth to tremble, thou hast rent it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
3 Ai arătat poporului tău lucruri grele, ne-ai făcut să bem vinul înmărmuririi.
Thou hast shewn thy people hard things; thou hast made us to drink the wine of bewilderment.
4 Ai dat un steag celor ce se tem de tine, ca să îl înalțe pentru adevăr. (Selah)
Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth, (Selah)
5 Ca preaiubiții tăi să fie eliberați, salvează cu dreapta ta, și ascultă-mă.
That thy beloved ones may be delivered. Save with thy right hand, and answer me.
6 Dumnezeu a vorbit în sfințenia lui, mă voi bucura, voi împărți Sihemul și voi măsura valea Sucotului.
God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
7 Galaadul este al meu și Manase este al meu; Efraim de asemenea este puterea capului meu; Iuda este legiuitorul meu.
Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine, and Ephraim is the strength of my head; Judah is my law-giver;
8 Moab este vasul meu pentru spălare; peste Edom îmi voi arunca sandala, Filistia, triumfă tu din cauza mea.
Moab is my wash-pot; upon Edom will I cast my sandal; Philistia, shout aloud because of me.
9 Cine mă va duce în cetatea cea tare? Cine mă va conduce în Edom?
Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me unto Edom?
10 Nu voiești tu, Dumnezeule, care ne-ai lepădat? Și tu, Dumnezeule, care nu ai ieșit cu armatele noastre?
[Wilt] not thou, O God, who didst cast us off? and didst not go forth, O God, with our armies?
11 Dă-ne ajutor în timp de tulburare, fiindcă zadarnic este ajutorul omului.
Give us help from trouble; for vain is man's deliverance.
12 Prin Dumnezeu vom lucra vitejește, căci el va călca în picioare pe dușmanii noștri.
Through God we shall do valiantly; and he it is that will tread down our adversaries.
