Psalmii 58
1 Mai marelui muzician, „Altaschit,” Mictam al lui David. Vorbiți dreptate cu adevărat, adunare? Judecați voi drept, fii ai oamenilor?
“For the leader of the music. To the tune of “Do not destroy.” A psalm of David.” Do ye, indeed, administer justice faithfully, ye mighty ones? Do ye judge with uprightness, ye sons of men?
2 Dimpotrivă, în inimă lucrați stricăciune; cântăriți violența mâinilor voastre pe pământ.
Nay, in your hearts ye contrive iniquity; Your hands weigh out violence in the land!
3 Cei răi sunt înstrăinați din pântece, ei rătăcesc imediat ce sunt născuți, vorbind minciuni.
The wicked are estranged, from their very birth; The liars go astray as soon as they are born.
4 Otrava lor este ca otrava unui șarpe, ei sunt ca vipera surdă care își astupă urechea;
They have poison, like the poison of a serpent; Like the deaf adder's, which stoppeth her ear;
5 Care nu va da ascultare vocii fermecătorilor, care niciodată nu au fermecat mai iscusit.
Which listeneth not to the voice of the charmer, And of the sorcerer, skilful in incantations.
6 Rupe dinții lor, Dumnezeule, în gura lor, zdrobește marii dinți ai leilor tineri, DOAMNE.
Break their teeth, O God! in their mouths! Break out the great teeth of the lions, O LORD!
7 Să se topească precum apele care curg continuu, când își încordează arcul să își arunce săgețile, să fie ei ca tăiați în bucăți.
May they melt like waters, which flow away; May their arrows, when they aim them, be as if cut in pieces!
8 Ca un melc care se topește, să treacă fiecare, asemenea unei nașteri nelatimp a unei femei, ei să nu vadă soarele.
May they be like the snail, which melteth away as it goeth; Like the abortion of a woman, that seeth not the sun!
9 Înainte ca oalele voastre să simtă spinii, el îi va lua precum cu un vârtej de vânt, deopotrivă vii și în furia lui.
Before your pots feel the heat of the thorns, Whether fresh, or burning, may they be blown away!
10 Cel drept se va bucura când va vedea răzbunarea, își va spăla picioarele în sângele celui stricat.
The righteous shall rejoice, when he seeth such vengeance; He shall bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11 Astfel încât omul va spune: Cu adevărat este o răsplată pentru cel drept, cu adevărat el este un Dumnezeu care judecă pe pământ.
Then shall men say, “Truly there is a reward for the righteous! Truly there is a God who is judge upon the earth!”
