Psalmii 4
1 Mai marelui muzician pe instrument cu coarde, un psalm al lui David. Ascultă-mă când strig, Dumnezeul dreptății mele; din strâmtorare m-ai lărgit; ai milă de mine și ascultă-mi rugăciunea.
In parts according to verses. A Psalm of David. When I called upon him, the God of my justice heeded me. In tribulation, you have enlarged me. Have mercy on me, and heed my prayer.
2 Voi, fii ai oamenilor, până când veți întoarce gloria mea în rușine? Până când veți iubi deșertăciunea și veți căuta minciuna? (Selah)
Sons of men, how long will you be dull in heart, so that whatever you love is in vain, and whatever you seek is false? (Pause)
3 Dar să știți că DOMNUL a pus deoparte pentru el pe cel evlavios; DOMNUL va auzi când voi striga către el.
And know this: the Lord has made wondrous his holy one. The Lord will heed me when I cry out to him.
4 Cutremurați-vă în uimire și nu păcătuiți; cugetați în inima voastră pe patul vostru și tăceți. (Selah)
Be angry, and do not be willing to sin. The things that you say in your hearts: be sorry for them on your beds. (Pause)
5 Oferiți sacrificiile dreptății și puneți-vă încrederea în DOMNUL.
Offer the sacrifice of justice, and hope in the Lord. Many say, “Who reveals to us what is good?”
6 Sunt mulți cei care spun: Cine ne va arăta bunătate? DOAMNE, înalță peste noi lumina înfățișării tale.
The light of your countenance, Lord, has been sealed upon us. You have given joy to my heart.
7 Tu ai pus veselie în inima mea, mai mult decât atunci când grânele lor și vinul lor le-au sporit.
By the fruit of their grain, wine, and oil, they have been multiplied.
8 Deopotrivă mă voi culca în pace și voi dormi, fiindcă tu, DOAMNE, numai tu mă faci să locuiesc în siguranță.
In peace itself, I will sleep and I will rest. For you, O Lord, have established me singularly in hope.
