Psalmii 37
1 Un psalm al lui David. Nu te îngrijora din cauza făcătorilor de rău, nici nu fi invidios împotriva lucrătorilor nelegiuirii.
Of David. Be not kindled to wrath at the wicked, nor envious of those who work wrong;
2 Căci degrabă vor fi cosiți ca iarba și se vor ofili ca iarba verde.
for, like grass, they will speedily wither, and fade like the green of young grass.
3 Încrede-te în DOMNUL și fă binele; astfel vei locui în țară și într-adevăr vei fi hrănit.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; remain in the land, and deal faithfully:
4 Desfată-te de asemenea în DOMNUL și el îți va da dorințele inimii tale.
then the Lord will be your delight, he will grant you your heart’s petitions.
5 Încredințează DOMNULUI calea ta și încrede-te de asemenea în el, iar el o va înfăptui.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act,
6 Și va aduce dreptatea ta ca lumina și judecata ta ca și amiaza.
making clear as the light your right, and your just cause clear as the noon-day.
7 Odihnește-te în DOMNUL și așteaptă-l cu răbdare; nu te îngrijora din cauza celui ce prosperă pe calea sa, din cauza omului care înfăptuiește planuri stricate.
In silence and patience wait on the Lord. Be not kindled to anger at those who prosper. At those who execute evil devices.
8 Oprește-te de la mânie și părăsește furia, nu te îngrijora în vreun fel pentru a face rău.
Desist from anger, abandon wrath: be not kindled to anger it leads but to evil:
9 Pentru că făcătorii de rău vor fi stârpiți, dar cei ce așteaptă pe DOMNUL, ei vor moșteni pământul.
for evildoers will be cut off, but the land will be theirs, who wait on the Lord.
10 Căci încă puțin timp și cel rău nu va mai fi, da, cu atenție vei lua aminte la locul lui și nu va mai fi.
Yet but a little, and the wicked vanish: look at their place: they are there no more.
11 Dar cei blânzi vor moșteni pământul și se vor desfăta în abundența păcii.
But the humble will have the land, and the rapture of peace in abundance.
12 Cel stricat uneltește împotriva celui drept și își scrâșnește din dinți asupra lui.
The wicked plots against the righteous, snarls like a wild animal;
13 Domnul va râde de el, fiindcă vede că ziua lui vine.
the Lord laughs, for he sees that his day is coming.
14 Cei stricați au scos sabia și și-au încordat arcurile, pentru a doborî pe cel sărac și nevoiaș și pentru a ucide pe cei ce au o purtare integră.
The wicked have drawn the sword, and bent the bow, to fell the poor, to slay those who walk uprightly;
15 Sabia lor va intra în propria lor inimă și arcurile lor vor fi frânte.
but their sword will pierce their own heart, and their bows will be broken in pieces.
16 Puținul pe care un om drept îl are este mai bun decât bogățiile multor stricați.
Better is the righteous person’s little than the wealth of many wicked.
17 Pentru că brațele celor stricați vor fi frânte, dar DOMNUL susține pe cei drepți.
For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.
18 DOMNUL cunoaște zilele celor integri și moștenirea lor va fi pentru totdeauna.
The Lord watches over the days of the blameless, their heritage will continue forever.
19 Ei nu vor fi făcuți de rușine în timpul cel rău și în zilele foametei vor fi săturați.
They will not be shamed in the evil time, in the days of famine they will be satisfied.
20 Dar cei stricați vor pieri și dușmanii DOMNULUI vor fi ca grăsimea mieilor, se vor mistui; în fum se vor mistui.
Because the wicked will perish: but the foes of the Lord, like a brand in the oven, will vanish, like smoke they will vanish.
21 Cel stricat împrumută și nu plătește înapoi, dar cel drept arată milă și dă.
The wicked must borrow and cannot pay back, but the righteous is lavish and gives.
22 Fiindcă toți cei binecuvântați de el vor moșteni pământul; și cei ce sunt blestemați de el vor fi stârpiți.
For those blest by the Lord inherit the land, while those whom he curses will be cut off.
23 Pașii omului bun sunt rânduiți de DOMNUL și își găsește plăcere în calea lui.
The Lord supports the steps of those with whom he is pleased.
24 Deși cade, el nu va fi doborât de tot, pentru că DOMNUL îl susține cu mâna lui.
Though they fall, they will not be cast headlong, for the Lord holds their hands.
25 Am fost tânăr și acum am îmbătrânit; totuși nu am văzut pe cel drept părăsit, nici sămânța lui cerșind pâine.
Never, from youth to age, have I seen the righteous forsaken, or their children begging bread.
26 El este totdeauna milos și împrumută; și sămânța lui este binecuvântată.
They are ever lavishly lending, and their children are fountains of blessing.
27 Pleacă de la rău și fă binele; și rămâi pentru totdeauna.
Turn away from evil and do good and you will live in the land forever.
28 Căci DOMNUL iubește judecata și nu părăsește pe sfinții săi; ei sunt păstrați pentru totdeauna, dar sămânța celor stricați va fi stârpită.
For the Lord loves justice, he does not forsake his friends. The unrighteous will be destroyed forever, and the seed of the wicked will be cut off.
29 Cei drepți vor moșteni țara și vor locui în ea pentru totdeauna.
But the land will belong to the righteous, they will live upon it forever,
30 Gura celui drept spune înțelepciune și limba lui vorbește judecată.
The mouth of the righteous murmurs wisdom, and words of justice are on their tongues.
31 Legea Dumnezeului său este în inima lui; niciunul din pașii lui nu va aluneca.
The law of their God is in their heart, their steps are never unsteady.
32 Cel stricat pândește pe cel drept și caută să îl ucidă.
The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to put them to death.
33 DOMNUL nu îl va lăsa în mâna lui, nici nu îl va condamna când este judecat.
But the Lord leaves them not in their hand: at their trial they will not be held guilty.
34 Așteaptă pe DOMNUL și ține calea lui, iar el te va înălța pentru a moșteni țara, când cei stricați sunt stârpiți, vei privi aceasta.
Wait on the Lord, and observe his way: he will lift you to honor the land will be yours, you will feast your eyes on the doom of the wicked.
35 Am văzut pe cel stricat în mare putere și întinzându-se ca un dafin verde.
I have seen the wicked exultant, lifting themselves like a cedar of Lebanon.
36 Totuși a trecut și, iată, el nu mai este, da, l-am căutat, dar nu a putut fi găsit.
But the moment I passed, they vanished! I sought for them, but they could not be found.
37 Însemnează pe cel desăvârșit și privește pe cel integru, fiindcă sfârșitul acelui om este pace.
Preserve your honor and practise uprightness, for such a person fares well in the end.
38 Dar călcătorii de lege vor fi nimiciți împreună, sfârșitul celor stricați va fi stârpit.
But transgressors will perish together. Cut off are the wicked forever.
39 Dar salvarea celor drepți este a DOMNULUI, el este puterea lor în timpul tulburării.
The righteous are saved by the Lord, who in time of distress is their refuge:
40 Și DOMNUL îi va ajuta și îi va elibera; îi va elibera de cei stricați și îi va salva pentru că se încred în el.
the Lord helps and rescue them, from the wicked he rescues and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
