Psalmii 21

1 Mai marelui muzician, un psalm al lui David. Împăratul se va bucura în puterea ta, DOAMNE; și cât de mult se va bucura în salvarea ta!

To the Overseer. — A Psalm of David. Jehovah, in Thy strength is the king joyful, In Thy salvation how greatly he rejoiceth.

2 Tu i-ai dat dorința inimii sale și nu ai refuzat cererea buzelor sale. (Selah)

The desire of his heart Thou gavest to him, And the request of his lips Thou hast not withheld. (Selah)

3 Fiindcă îl întâmpini cu binecuvântările bunătății; pui o coroană de aur pur pe capul lui.

For Thou puttest before him blessings of goodness, Thou settest on his head a crown of fine gold.

4 A cerut viață de la tine și i-ai dat-o: lungime a zilelor pentru totdeauna și întotdeauna.

Life he hath asked from Thee, Thou hast given to him — length of days, Age-during — and for ever.

5 Gloria lui este mare în salvarea ta, onoare și maiestate ai pus peste el.

Great [is] his honour in Thy salvation, Honour and majesty Thou placest on him.

6 Fiindcă l-ai făcut cel mai binecuvântat pentru totdeauna; l-ai înveselit peste măsură cu înfățișarea ta.

For Thou makest him blessings for ever, Thou dost cause him to rejoice with joy, By Thy countenance.

7 Pentru că împăratul se încrede în DOMNUL și prin mila celui Preaînalt nu se va clătina.

For the king is trusting in Jehovah, And in the kindness of the Most High He is not moved.

8 Mâna ta va găsi pe toți dușmanii tăi; dreapta ta va găsi pe cei ce te urăsc.

Thy hand cometh to all Thine enemies, Thy right hand doth find Thy haters.

9 Îi vei face ca un cuptor încins în timpul mâniei tale; DOMNUL îi va înghiți în furia lui și focul îi va mistui.

Thou makest them as a furnace of fire, At the time of Thy presence. Jehovah in His anger doth swallow them, And fire doth devour them.

10 Vei distruge rodul lor de pe pământ și sămânța lor de printre copiii oamenilor.

Their fruit from earth Thou destroyest, And their seed from the sons of men.

11 Pentru că au vrut să facă răul împotriva ta; au închipuit un plan viclean pe care nu sunt în stare să îl îndeplinească.

For they stretched out against Thee evil, They devised a wicked device, they prevail not,

12 De aceea îi vei face să întoarcă spatele când vei pregăti săgețile pe corzile tale împotriva feței lor.

For Thou makest them a butt, When Thy strings Thou preparest against their faces.

13 Fii înălțat, DOAMNE, în puterea ta; astfel noi vom cânta și vom lăuda puterea ta.

Be Thou exalted, O Jehovah in, Thy strength, We sing and we praise Thy might!
