Psalmii 116

1 Iubesc pe DOMNUL, pentru că a auzit vocea mea și cererile mele.

I love the Lord because he listens to me, he hears my calls for help.

2 Pentru că și-a aplecat urechea spre mine, de aceea îl voi chema cât timp voi trăi.

Because he pays attention to what I say I will pray to him as long as I live.

3 Întristările morții m-au încercuit și durerile iadului m-au prins, am găsit tulburare și întristare. (Sheol h7585)

I was caught in the snares of death; I was trapped by terrors of the grave. All I experienced was suffering and grief. (Sheol h7585)

4 Atunci am chemat numele DOMNULUI; DOAMNE, te implor, eliberează sufletul meu.

Then I cried out to the Lord, “Lord, please save me!”

5 Cu har este DOMNUL și drept; da, Dumnezeul nostru este milostiv.

The Lord is so kind and good! Our God is so compassionate!

6 DOMNUL păstrează pe cel simplu; am fost înjosit și el m-a ajutat.

The Lord takes care of those who are powerless; when I was brought down he saved me.

7 Întoarce-te la odihna ta, suflete al meu, căci DOMNUL ți-a făcut mult bine.

I can once again be at peace because the Lord has been good to me.

8 Căci mi-ai eliberat sufletul de moarte, ochii mei de lacrimi și picioarele mele de cădere.

For you have saved me from death, my eyes from crying, and my feet from stumbling.

9 Voi umbla înaintea DOMNULUI în țara celor vii.

Now I can walk with the Lord in the land of the living.

10 Am crezut, de aceea am vorbit; am fost foarte nenorocit.

I trusted in you, so I told you, “I'm suffering terribly!”

11 Am spus în graba mea: Toți oamenii sunt mincinoși.

I was so upset that I said, “Everyone's a liar!”

12 Ce voi întoarce DOMNULUI pentru toate binefacerile lui către mine?

What can I give the Lord in return for all he's done for me?

13 Voi lua paharul salvării și voi chema numele DOMNULUI.

I will lift up the cup of salvation and worship the Lord.

14 Îmi voi îndeplini promisiunile față de DOMNUL, acum, în prezența întregului său popor.

I will keep my promises to the Lord so everyone can see.

15 Prețioasă este în ochii DOMNULUI moartea sfinților săi.

It hurts the Lord when those who trust in him die.

16 DOAMNE, cu adevărat eu sunt servitorul tău; eu sunt servitorul tău și fiul roabei tale; tu ai dezlegat legăturile mele.

Lord, I really am your slave, serving you as my mother served you before me, yet you have set me free.

17 Ție îți voi aduce sacrificiul de mulțumire și voi chema numele DOMNULUI.

I will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to you and I will worship you.

18 Îmi voi îndeplini promisiunile față de DOMNUL, acum, în prezența întregului său popor,

I will keep my promises to the Lord so everyone can see,

19 În curțile casei DOMNULUI, în mijlocul tău, Ierusalime. Lăudați pe Domnul.

there in the house of the Lord, right in Jerusalem. Praise the Lord!
