Proverbe 1
1 Proverbele lui Solomon, fiul lui David, împăratul lui Israel;
The proverbs of Solomon son of David, the king of Israel.
2 Pentru a cunoaște înțelepciunea și instruirea; pentru a pricepe cuvintele înțelegerii;
These proverbs are to teach wisdom and instruction, to teach words of insight,
3 Pentru a primi instruirea înțelepciunii, a dreptății și a judecății și a echității;
that you may receive instruction in order to live by doing what is right, just, and fair.
4 Pentru a da agerime celor simpli, tânărului, cunoaștere și discernământ.
These proverbs are also to give wisdom to the naive, and to give knowledge and discretion to young people.
5 Un înțelept va asculta și își va crește învățătura, și un om al priceperii va obține sfaturi înțelepte;
Let wise people listen and increase their learning, and let discerning people get guidance,
6 Pentru a înțelege un proverb și interpretarea lui, cuvintele înțelepților și vorbele lor adânci.
to understand proverbs, sayings, and words of wise people and their riddles.
7 Teama de DOMNUL este începutul cunoașterii; dar nebunii disprețuiesc înțelepciunea și instruirea.
The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge— fools despise wisdom and instruction.
8 Fiul meu, ascultă instruirea tatălui tău și nu părăsi legea mamei tale;
My son, hear the instruction of your father and do not lay aside the rules of your mother;
9 Fiindcă ele vor fi o podoabă de har pentru capul tău și lănțișoare în jurul gâtului tău.
they will be a graceful wreath for your head and pendants hanging from your neck.
10 Fiul meu, dacă păcătoșii te ademenesc, nu te învoi!
My son, if sinners try to entice you into their sin, refuse to follow them.
11 Dacă ei spun: Vino cu noi, să stăm la pândă pentru a vărsa sânge, să pândim în ascuns și fără motiv pe cel nevinovat;
If they say, “Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us hide and attack innocent people for no reason.
12 Să îi înghițim de vii precum mormântul; și în întregime, ca pe cei ce coboară în groapă; (Sheol h7585)
Let us swallow them up alive, like Sheol takes away those who are healthy, and make them like those who fall into the pit. (Sheol h7585)
13 Vom găsi toate averile prețioase, ne vom umple casele cu pradă;
We shall find all kinds of valuable things; we will fill our houses with what we steal from others.
14 Aruncă-ți sorțul printre noi; să avem toți o singură pungă;
Throw in your lot with us; we will all have one purse together.”
15 Fiul meu, nu umbla cu ei pe cale; oprește-ți piciorul de la cărarea lor;
My son, do not walk down that road with them; do not let your foot touch where they walk;
16 Căci picioarele lor aleargă la rău și se grăbesc să verse sânge.
their feet run to evil and they hurry to shed blood.
17 Cu siguranță în zadar este întinsă plasa înaintea ochilor oricărei păsări.
For it is useless to spread the net in the sight of any bird.
18 Și ei stau la pândă pentru a vărsa propriul lor sânge; pândesc în ascuns propriile lor vieți.
These men lie in wait for their own blood— they set an ambush for their own lives.
19 Astfel sunt căile fiecărui om lacom de câștig, lăcomie care ia viața celor ce o au.
So are the ways of everyone who gains riches by injustice; unjust gain takes away the lives of those who hold on to it.
20 Înțelepciunea strigă afară; își înalță vocea pe străzi;
Wisdom cries aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the open places;
21 Ea strigă în piața de adunare a mulțimii, în pragurile porților; își rostește cuvintele ei în cetate, spunând:
at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, at the entrance of the city gates she speaks,
22 Până când simplilor, veți iubi simplitatea și batjocoritorii se vor desfăta în batjocurile lor și proștii vor urî cunoașterea?
“How long, you naive people, will you love being naive? How long, you mockers, will you delight in mockery, and how long, you fools, will you hate knowledge?
23 Întoarceți-vă la mustrarea mea; iată, voi turna duhul meu peste voi, vă voi face cunoscute cuvintele mele.
Pay attention to my correction; I will pour out my thoughts to you; I will make my words known to you.
24 Deoarece v-am chemat și ați refuzat; mi-am întins mâna și nimeni nu a dat atenție;
I have called, and you have refused to listen; I reached out with my hand, but there was no one who paid attention.
25 Dar ați făcut de nimic tot sfatul meu și ați refuzat mustrarea mea;
But you have ignored all my instruction and paid no attention to my correction.
26 Și eu voi râde la nenorocirea voastră; îmi voi bate joc când vine spaima voastră;
I will laugh at your calamity, I will mock you when the terror comes—
27 Când vine spaima voastră ca pustiirea și nimicirea voastră vine ca un vârtej de vânt; când vine strâmtorarea și chinul peste voi,
when your fearful dread comes like a storm and disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.
28 Atunci mă vor chema, dar voi refuza să răspund; devreme mă vor căuta, dar nu mă vor găsi,
Then they will call upon me, and I will not answer; they will desperately call for me, but they will not find me.
29 Pentru că au urât cunoașterea și nu au ales teama de DOMNUL;
Because they hate knowledge and did not choose the fear of Yahweh,
30 Au refuzat sfatul meu, au disprețuit întreaga mea mustrare.
they would not follow my instruction, and they despised all my correction.
31 De aceea vor mânca din rodul căii lor și vor fi îndestulați cu propriile lor planuri.
They will eat the fruit of their ways, and with the fruit of their schemes they will be filled.
32 Fiindcă abaterea de pe cale a celor simpli îi va ucide și prosperitatea proștilor îi va nimici.
For the naive are killed when they turn away, and the indifference of fools will destroy them.
33 Dar oricine îmi dă ascultare va locui în siguranță și va fi liniștit față de teama de rău.
But whoever listens to me will live in safety and will rest secure with no fear of disaster.”
