Proverbe 19
1 Mai bine săracul care umblă în integritatea lui, decât cel pervers în buzele lui și este un prost.
Betere is a pore man, that goith in his simplenesse, than a riche man bitynge hise lippis, and vnwijs.
2 De asemenea, nu este bine ca sufletul să fie lipsit de cunoaștere; și cel ce se grăbește cu picioarele sale păcătuiește.
Where is not kunnyng of the soule, is not good; and he that is hasti, in feet hirtith.
3 Nechibzuința omului îi pervertește calea, și inima sa se înfurie împotriva DOMNULUI.
The foli of a man disseyueth hise steppis; and he brenneth in his soule ayens God.
4 Averea face mulți prieteni, dar săracul este separat de aproapele său.
Richessis encreessen ful many freendis; forsothe also thei ben departid fro a pore man, whiche he hadde.
5 Un martor fals nu va rămâne nepedepsit și cel ce vântură minciuni nu va scăpa.
A fals witnesse schal not be vnpunyschid; and he that spekith leesingis, schal not ascape.
6 Mulți vor implora favoarea prințului, și fiecare om este prietenul celui ce dă daruri.
Many men onouren the persoone of a myyti man; and ben frendis of hym that deelith yiftis.
7 Toți frații celui sărac îl urăsc; cu cât mai mult se îndepărtează prietenii lui de el? El îi urmărește cu vorbe, totuși ei îi lipsesc.
The britheren of a pore man haten hym; ferthermore and the freendis yeden awei fer fro hym. He that sueth wordis oonli, schal haue no thing;
8 Cel ce obține înțelepciune își iubește propriul suflet; cel ce păstrează înțelegerea va găsi binele.
but he that holdith stabli the mynde, loueth his soule, and the kepere of prudence schal fynde goodis.
9 Un martor fals nu va rămâne nepedepsit și cel ce vântură minciuni va pieri.
A fals witnesse schal not be vnpunyschid; and he that spekith leesyngis, schal perische.
10 Desfătarea nu este potrivită pentru un prost; cu atât mai puțin pentru un servitor să aibă conducere peste prinți.
Delices bicomen not a fool; nether `it bicometh a seruaunt to be lord of princes.
11 Discernământul unui om amână mânia sa; și este gloria lui să treacă cu vederea o fărădelege.
The teching of a man is knowun bi pacience; and his glorie is to passe ouere wickid thingis.
12 Furia împăratului este ca răgetul leului, dar favoarea lui este ca roua peste iarbă.
As the gnasting of a lioun, so and the ire of the king; and as deewe on eerbe, so and the gladnesse of the kyng.
13 Un fiu prost este nenorocirea tatălui său, și certurile soției sunt picurare neîncetată.
The sorewe of the fadir is a fonned sone; and roofes droppynge contynueli is a womman ful of chiding.
14 Casa și averile sunt moștenirea părinților, și o soție chibzuită este de la DOMNUL.
Housis and richessis ben youun of fadir and modir; but a prudent wijf is youun propirli of the Lord.
15 Lenevia te aruncă într-un somn adânc, și un suflet trândav va suferi foame.
Slouth bringith in sleep; and a negligent soule schal haue hungur.
16 Cel ce păstrează porunca își păstrează propriul suflet, dar cel care își disprețuiește căile va muri.
He that kepith the comaundement of God, kepith his soule; but he that chargith not his weie, schal be slayn.
17 Cel ce are milă de sărac împrumută DOMNULUI, și ceea ce el a dat, el îi va plăti din nou.
He that hath mercy on a pore man, leeneth to the Lord; and he schal yelde his while to hym.
18 Disciplinează pe fiul tău cât este speranță și nu lăsa sufletul tău să cedeze din cauza plânsului său.
Teche thi sone, and dispeire thou not; but sette thou not thi soule to the sleyng of hym.
19 Un om al unei mari furii va suferi pedeapsă; deoarece, dacă îl eliberezi, totuși va trebui să o faci din nou.
Forsothe he that is vnpacient, schal suffre harm; and whanne he hath rauyschid, he schal leie to anothir thing.
20 Ascultă sfatul și primește instruirea, ca să fii înțelept la sfârșitul tău.
Here thou counsel, and take thou doctryn; that thou be wijs in thi laste thingis.
21 Multe sunt planurile în inima unui om; totuși sfatul DOMNULUI, acela va sta în picioare.
Many thouytis ben in the herte of a man; but the wille of the Lord schal dwelle.
22 Dorința unui om este bunătatea sa, și un om sărac este mai bun decât un mincinos.
A nedi man is merciful; and betere is a pore iust man, than a man liere.
23 Teama de DOMNUL tinde la viață, și cel ce o are va trăi satisfăcut; nu va fi vizitat de rău.
The drede of the Lord ledith to lijf `of blis; and he `that dredith God schal dwelle in plentee, with outen visityng `of the worste.
24 Un leneș își ascunde mâna în sân și nici măcar nu și-o duce la gură din nou.
A slow man hidith his hond vndur the armpit; and putteth it not to his mouth.
25 Lovește pe batjocoritor și cel simplu va lua seama; și mustră pe unul ce are înțelegere și el va înțelege cunoașterea.
Whanne a man ful of pestilence is betun, a fool schal be wisere. If thou blamist a wijs man, he schal vndurstonde techyng.
26 Cel ce jefuiește pe tată și își alungă mama, este un fiu care face rușine și aduce ocară.
He that turmentith the fadir, and fleeth fro the modir, schal be ful of yuel fame, and schal be cursid.
27 Încetează, fiul meu, să asculți instruirea care te abate de la cuvintele cunoașterii.
Sone, ceesse thou not to here techyng; and knowe thou the wordis of kunnyng.
28 Un martor neevlavios batjocorește judecata, și gura celui stricat mănâncă nelegiuire.
A wickid witnesse scorneth doom; and the mouth of vnpitouse men deuourith wickidnesse.
29 Judecăți sunt pregătite pentru batjocoritori și lovituri pentru spatele proștilor.
Domes ben maad redi to scorneris; and hameris smytynge ben maad redi to the bodies of foolis.
