1 Acestea sunt de asemenea generațiile lui Aaron și Moise în ziua în care DOMNUL a vorbit cu Moise pe muntele Sinai.
These are some of the things that happened to Aaron and Moses/me when Yahweh spoke to Moses/me on Sinai Mountain.
2 Și acestea sunt numele fiilor lui Aaron, Nadab întâiul născut și Abihu, Eleazar și Itamar.
Aaron’s four sons were Nadab the oldest, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
3 Acestea sunt numele fiilor lui Aaron, preoții care au fost unși, pe care el i-a consacrat să servească în serviciul de preot.
They were appointed [MTY] (OR, Moses/I appointed them) to be priests.
4 Și Nadab și Abihu au murit înaintea DOMNULUI, când au oferit foc străin înaintea DOMNULUI, în pustiul Sinai și nu au avut copii și Eleazar și Itamar au servit în serviciul de preot înaintea ochilor tatălui lor Aaron.
But, while Yahweh was watching, Nadab and Abihu died in the Sinai Desert because they burned [incense] in a manner that was different from what Yahweh had commanded. They had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar were the [only] sons of Aaron who [were left to be] priests, along with their father Aaron.
5 Și DOMNUL i-a vorbit lui Moise, spunând:
Then Yahweh said to Moses/me,
6 Apropie tribul lui Levi și prezintă-i înaintea lui Aaron preotul, ca ei să îi servească.
“Bring [the men of] the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron, in order that they may assist him.
7 Și ei să păzească însărcinarea lui și însărcinarea întregii adunări înaintea tabernacolului întâlnirii, pentru a face serviciul tabernacolului.
They will serve Aaron and all the other Israeli people, while they do their work inside the Sacred Tent and outside it.
8 Și ei să păzească toate uneltele tabernacolului întâlnirii și însărcinarea copiilor lui Israel, pentru a face serviciul tabernacolului.
They must serve all the Israeli people by taking care of all the things that are inside the Sacred Tent.
9 Și să dai pe leviți lui Aaron și fiilor săi, ei îi sunt dați în întregime dintre copiii lui Israel.
Appoint them to [help] Aaron and his two sons. I have chosen them from all the Israeli people to do that.
10 Și să rânduiești pe Aaron și pe fiii săi, iar ei să servească în serviciul lor preoțesc și străinul care se apropie să fie dat morții.
Appoint Aaron and his two sons to do the work that priests do. But anyone else who comes close to the Sacred Tent [to do that work] must be executed.”
11 Și DOMNUL i-a vorbit lui Moise, spunând:
Yahweh also told Moses/me,
12 Și eu, iată, am luat pe leviți dintre copiii lui Israel în locul tuturor întâilor născuți care deschid pântecele printre copiii lui Israel; de aceea leviții să fie ai mei;
“Note that from all the Israelis, I have chosen the men of the tribe of Levi to take the places of all the firstborn sons of the Israeli people. The male descendants of Levi belong to me,
13 Deoarece toți întâii născuți sunt ai mei, pentru că în ziua în care am lovit pe toți întâii născuți în țara Egiptului mi-am sfințit pe toți întâii născuți în Israel, deopotrivă om și animal; ai mei vor fi: Eu sunt DOMNUL.
because truly all the firstborn [males] belong to me. That is because on the day that I killed all the firstborn [sons] of the people of Egypt, I [spared] all the firstborn [sons] of the Israelis and set them apart for myself. I also set apart the firstborn [males] of your domestic animals. They belong to me, Yahweh.”
14 Și DOMNUL i-a vorbit lui Moise în pustiul Sinai, spunând:
Yahweh spoke to Moses/me again in the Sinai Desert. He said,
15 Numără copiii lui Levi după casa părinților lor, după familiile lor, să îi numeri fiecare parte bărbătească de la vârsta de o lună în sus.
“Count the male members of the tribe of Levi. Write down their names and the names of their clans and family groups. Count all the males who are at least one month old.”
16 Și Moise i-a numărat conform cu cuvântul DOMNULUI, precum i s-a poruncit.
So Moses/I counted them, just as Yahweh commanded.
17 Și aceștia au fost fiii lui Levi după numele lor, Gherșon și Chehat și Merari.
Levi had [three] sons, whose names were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
18 Și acestea sunt numele fiilor lui Gherșon după familiile lor, Libni și Șimei.
Gershon had [two] sons: Libni and Shimei. The clans that were descended from them had the same names as those [two] sons.
19 Și fiii lui Chehat după familiile lor: Amram și Ițehar, Hebron și Uziel.
Kohath had [four] sons: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. The clans that were descended from them had the same names as those [four] sons.
20 Și fiii lui Merari după familiile lor, Mahli și Muși. Acestea sunt familiile leviților conform cu casa părinților lor.
Merari had [two] sons: Mahli and Mushi. The clans that were descended from them had the same names as those [two] sons. Those are the clans that were descended from Levi.
21 Din Gherșon a fost familia libniților și familia șimiților, acestea sunt familiile gherșoniților.
The two clans descended from Gershon are those that were descended from [his sons] Libni and Shimei.
22 Cei numărați dintre ei, conform cu numărul tuturor celor de parte bărbătească, de la vârsta de o lună în sus, cei numărați dintre ei au fost șapte mii cinci sute.
In those two clans there were 7,500 males who were at least one month old.
23 Familiile gherșoniților să își așeze corturile în spatele tabernacolului spre vest.
They were told to set up their tents on the west side of the Sacred Tent.
24 Și mai marele casei tatălui gherșoniților să fie Eliasaf, fiul lui Lael.
The leader of those two clans was Eliasaph, the son of Lael.
25 Și însărcinarea fiilor lui Gherșon în tabernacolul întâlnirii să fie tabernacolul și cortul, acoperământul lui și perdeaua pentru ușa tabernacolului întâlnirii,
Their work was to take care of the Sacred Tent, including the coverings of the tent, the curtain at the entrance of the tent,

the (curtains/large pieces of cloth) that formed the walls around the courtyard that is around the tent and around the altar, the curtains that were at the entrance of the courtyard, and the ropes [for fastening the tent]. They also did all the work of taking care of the things outside the Sacred Tent.
27 Și din Chehat a fost familia amramiților și familia ițehariților și familia hebroniților și familia uzieliților, acestea sunt familiile chehatiților.
The clans that were descended from Kohath were those descended from his four sons: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
28 În numărul tuturor celor de parte bărbătească de la vârsta de o lună în sus, au fost opt mii șase sute, având însărcinarea sanctuarului.
In those four clans there were 8,600 males who were at least one month old. The work of the men of the clans was to take care of [the things that are inside] the Sacred Tent.
29 Familiile fiilor lui Chehat să își așeze corturile în partea de sud a tabernacolului.
They set up their tents on the south side of the Sacred Tent.
30 Și mai marele casei tatălui familiilor chehatiților să fie Elițafan, fiul lui Uziel.
The leader of those four clans was Elizaphan, the son of Uzziel.
31 Și însărcinarea lor să fie chivotul și masa și sfeșnicul și altarele și vasele sanctuarului cu care ei servesc și perdeaua și tot serviciul lor.
The work of the men of those clans was to take care of the sacred chest, the table [on which the priest put the sacred bread], the lampstand, the altars, all the items that the priest used in the Sacred Tent, and the curtain that is inside the tent. Their work was also to take care of the things inside the tent.
32 Și Eleazar, fiul preotului Aaron, să fie mai marele peste mai marele leviților și să aibă supravegherea celor ce păstrează însărcinarea sanctuarului.
Aaron’s son Eleazar was the leader of all the male descendants of Levi. He supervised all the work that was done at the Sacred Tent.
33 Din Merari a fost familia mahliților și familia mușiților, acestea sunt familiile lui Merari.
The clans that were descended from Merari were those descended from [his sons] Mahli and Mushi.
34 Și cei numărați dintre ei, conform cu numărul tuturor celor de parte bărbătească de la vârsta de o lună în sus, au fost șase mii două sute.
In those two clans there were 6,200 males who were at least one month old.
35 Și mai marele casei tatălui familiilor lui Merari a fost Țuriel, fiul lui Abihail, aceștia să își așeze corturile în partea de nord a tabernacolului.
They were told to set up their tents on the north side of the Sacred Tent. The leader of those two clans was Zuriel, the son of Abihail.
36 Și sub custodia și însărcinarea fiilor lui Merari să fie scândurile tabernacolului și drugii lui și stâlpii lui și soclurile lor și toate vasele lui și tot ce servește acolo,
The work of the men of those two clans was to take care of the frames that held up the tent, the crossbars, the pillars, and the bases. They also did all the work that was connected with those items.
37 Și stâlpii curții de jur împrejur și soclurile lor și țărușii lor și frânghiile lor.
Their work was also to take care of the posts [that held up the curtains that formed the walls of] the courtyard, and all the bases, tent pegs, and ropes [that fastened those curtains].
38 Dar cei ce își așază tabăra înaintea tabernacolului spre est, înaintea tabernacolului întâlnirii spre est, să fie Moise și Aaron și fiii săi, având însărcinarea sanctuarului ca sarcină a copiilor lui Israel; și străinul care se apropie să fie dat morții.
Aaron and Moses/I and Aaron’s sons were told to set up their/our tents in the area in front of the Sacred Tent, on the east side. Their/Our work was to supervise the work that would be done in and around the Sacred Tent, for the benefit of the Israeli people. Only the priests were permitted to do that. [Yahweh declared that] we should execute anyone else who went near the tent [to do the work that the priests do].
39 Toți cei numărați dintre leviți, pe care Moise și Aaron i-au numărat la porunca DOMNULUI, prin toate familiile lor, toți cei de parte bărbătească în vârstă de la o lună în sus, au fost douăzeci și două de mii.
When Aaron and Moses/I counted all the males who were at least one month old, who belonged to the clans descended from Levi, the total was 22,000.
40 Și DOMNUL i-a spus lui Moise: Numără pe toți întâii născuți din cei de parte bărbătească dintre copiii lui Israel de la vârsta de o lună în sus și ia numărul numelor lor.
Then Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Now count all the [other] firstborn males in Israel who are at least one month old, and write down their names.
41 Și să iei pe leviți pentru mine (eu sunt DOMNUL) în locul tuturor întâilor născuți ai copiilor lui Israel; și vitele leviților în locul întâilor pui născuți ai vitelor copiilor lui Israel.
Also, set apart for me the descendants of Levi to be substitutes for the firstborn males of the other Israelis. And set apart for me the livestock of the descendants of Levi to be substitutes for the firstborn livestock of the other Israeli people.”
42 Și Moise a numărat precum DOMNUL i-a poruncit, pe toți întâii născuți dintre copiii lui Israel.
So Moses/I did that. He/I counted the firstborn males of all the Israeli people, as Yahweh had commanded.
43 Și toți întâii născuți de parte bărbătească după numărul numelor, de la vârsta de o lună în sus, dintre cei care au fost numărați dintre ei, erau douăzeci și două de mii două sute șaptezeci și trei.
The total of those who were at least one month old was 22,273.
44 Și DOMNUL i-a vorbit lui Moise, spunând:
Then Yahweh said to Moses/me,
45 Ia pe leviți în locul tuturor întâilor născuți ai copiilor lui Israel și vitele leviților în locul vitelor acelora; și leviții să fie ai mei: Eu sunt DOMNUL.
“Set apart the descendants of Levi to be substitutes for [the firstborn males of] the other Israeli people. The descendants of Levi belong to me, Yahweh.
46 Și pentru cei care trebuie răscumpărați, cei două sute șaptezeci și trei dintre întâii născuți ai copiilor lui Israel, care sunt mai mulți decât leviții,
There are 273 more firstborn males of the other Israeli people than of the descendants of Levi.
47 Să iei cinci șekeli de fiecare cap; după șekelul sanctuarului să îi iei (șekelul are douăzeci de ghere),
To pay for these 273 males, collect five pieces of silver for each of them. Each of those pieces of silver must weigh the same as each of the silver coins that are stored in the Sacred Tent. Give this silver to Aaron and his sons.”
48 Și să dai banii, cu care trebuie răscumpărat numărul celor în plus, lui Aaron și fiilor săi.
49 Și Moise a luat banii de răscumpărare de la cei care depășeau numărul celor răscumpărați de leviți,
So Moses/I did that. He/I collected the silver from those 273 males.
50 De la întâii născuți ai copiilor lui Israel a luat banii; o mie trei sute șaizeci și cinci de șekeli, după șekelul sanctuarului.
The total was 1,365 pieces of silver. Each silver coin weighed the same as each of the silver coins stored in the Sacred Tent.
51 Și Moise a dat banii de la cei ce fuseseră răscumpărați, lui Aaron și fiilor săi, conform cuvântului DOMNULUI, precum DOMNUL i-a poruncit lui Moise.
Moses/I gave these silver coins to Aaron and his sons, as Yahweh had commanded.
