Matei 7
1 Nu judecați, ca să nu fiți judecați.
"Judge not, that you may not be judged;
2 Căci cu ce judecată judecați, veți fi judecați; și cu ce măsură măsurați, vi se va măsura la rândul vostru.
for your own judgement will be dealt--and your own measure meted--to yourselves.
3 Dar de ce te uiți la paiul care este în ochiul fratelui tău și nu iei în considerare bârna care este în propriul tău ochi?
And why do you look at the splinter in your brother's eye, and not notice the beam which is in your own eye?
4 Sau cum poți spune fratelui tău: Lasă-mă să scot paiul din ochiul tău; și iată, bârna în propriul tău ochi?
Or how say to your brother, 'Allow me to take the splinter out of your eye,' while the beam is in your own eye?
5 Fățarnicule, scoate întâi bârna din propriul tău ochi; și atunci vei vedea clar să scoți paiul din ochiul fratelui tău.
Hypocrite, first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to remove the splinter from your brother's eye.
6 Nu dați ceea ce este sfânt câinilor, nici nu aruncați perlele voastre înaintea porcilor, ca nu cumva să le calce în picioare și întorcându-se să vă sfâșie.
"Give not that which is holy to the dogs, nor throw your pearls to the swine; otherwise they will trample them under their feet and then turn and attack you.
7 Cereți și vi se va da; căutați și veți găsi; bateți și vi se va deschide;
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
8 Fiindcă oricine cere, primește; și cine caută, găsește; și celui ce bate, i se va deschide.
For it is always he who asks that receives, he who seeks that finds, and he who knocks that has the door opened to him.
9 Sau care este omul acela dintre voi, căruia, dacă îi cere fiul său o pâine, îi va da o piatră?
What man is there among you, who if his son shall ask him for bread will offer him a stone?
10 Sau dacă îi cere un pește, îi va da un șarpe?
Or if the son shall ask him for a fish will offer him a snake?
11 Așadar dacă voi, răi fiind, știți să dați daruri bune copiilor voștri, cu cât mai mult Tatăl vostru, care este în cer, va da lucruri bune celor ce i le cer.
If you then, imperfect as you are, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
12 De aceea toate lucrurile, pe care voiți să vi le facă oamenii, faceți-le și voi la fel; fiindcă aceasta este legea și profeții.
Everything, therefore, be it what it may, that you would have men do to you, do you also the same to them; for in this the Law and the Prophets are summed up.
13 Intrați pe poarta cea strâmtă, pentru că largă este poarta și lată este calea care duce la nimicire și mulți sunt cei ce intră pe ea.
"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad the road which leads to ruin, and many there are who enter by it;
14 Fiindcă strâmtă este poarta și îngustă este calea care duce la viață și puțini sunt cei ce o găsesc.
because narrow is the gate and contracted the road which leads to Life, and few are those who find it.
15 Păziți-vă de profeții falși, care vin la voi în haine de oi, dar pe dinăuntru sunt lupi răpitori.
"Beware of the false teachers--men who come to you in sheep's fleeces, but beneath that disguise they are ravenous wolves.
16 După roadele lor îi veți cunoaște. Culeg oamenii struguri din spini, sau smochine din ciulini?
By their fruits you will easily recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thorns or figs from brambles?
17 Tot așa, fiecare pom bun aduce rod bun; dar pomul rău face rod rău.
Just so every good tree produces good fruit, but a poisonous tree produces bad fruit.
18 Un pom bun nu poate face rod rău, niciun pom rău nu face rod bun.
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor a poisonous tree good fruit.
19 Fiecare pom care nu face rod bun este tăiat și aruncat în foc.
Every tree which does not yield good fruit is cut down and thrown aside for burning.
20 Așadar după roadele lor îi veți cunoaște.
So by their fruits at any rate, you will easily recognize them.
21 Nu oricine îmi spune: Doamne, Doamne, va intra în împărăția cerului; ci cel ce face voia Tatălui meu care este în cer.
"Not every one who says to me, 'Master, Master,' will enter the Kingdom of the Heavens, but only those who are obedient to my Father who is in Heaven.
22 Mulți îmi vor spune în acea zi: Doamne, Doamne, nu am profețit în numele tău? Și nu am scos draci în numele tău? Și nu am făcut multe lucrări minunate în numele tău?
Many will say to me on that day, "'Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Thy name, and in Thy name expelled demons, and in Thy name performed many mighty works?'
23 Și atunci le voi mărturisi: Niciodată nu v-am cunoscut; plecați de la mine, voi, [cei] care lucrați nelegiuire.
"And then I will tell them plainly, "'I never knew you: begone from me, you doers of wickedness.'
24 De aceea pe oricine aude aceste cuvinte ale mele și le face, îl voi asemăna cu un om înțelept, care și-a zidit casa pe stâncă;
"Every one who hears these my teachings and acts upon them will be found to resemble a wise man who builds his house upon rock;
25 Și a căzut ploaia și au venit șuvoaiele și au suflat vânturile și au bătut peste casa aceea; și nu a căzut pentru că a fost fondată pe stâncă.
and the heavy rain falls, the swollen torrents come, and the winds blow and beat against the house; yet it does not fall, for its foundation is on rock.
26 Și oricine aude aceste cuvinte ale mele și nu le face, va fi asemănat cu un om nebun, care și-a zidit casa pe nisip;
And every one who hears these my teachings and does not act upon them will be found to resemble a fool who builds his house upon sand.
27 Și a căzut ploaia și au venit șuvoaiele și au suflat vânturile și au bătut peste casa aceea; și a căzut și prăbușirea ei a fost mare.
The heavy rain descends, the swollen torrents come, and the winds blow and burst upon the house, and it falls; and disastrous is the fall."
28 Și s-a întâmplat, după ce a terminat Isus aceste cuvinte, că oamenii au rămas înmărmuriți de doctrina lui;
When Jesus had concluded this discourse, the crowds were filled with amazement at His teaching,
29 Fiindcă îi învăța ca unul care avea autoritate și nu precum scribii.
for He had been teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their Scribes taught.
