Matei 15
1 Atunci au venit la Isus scribi și farisei care erau din Ierusalim, spunând:
Then, there come unto Jesus from Jerusalem Pharisees and Scribes, saying—
2 De ce discipolii tăi încalcă tradiția bătrânilor? Fiindcă nu își spală mâinile când mănâncă pâine.
Wherefore do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands, when they eat bread!
3 Iar el a răspuns și le-a zis: De ce și voi încălcați porunca lui Dumnezeu datorită tradiției voastre?
But, he, answering, said unto them—Wherefore do, ye also, transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?
4 Fiindcă Dumnezeu a poruncit, spunând: Onorează pe tatăl și pe mama ta; și, Cel ce blestemă pe tată sau mamă, de moarte să moară.
For, God, said—Honour thy father and thy mother, and—He that revileth father or mother, let him, surely die!
5 Dar voi spuneți: Oricine ar spune tatălui ori mamei: Orice ți-ar fi de folos la mine este un dar;
But, ye, say—Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother—A gift! Whatsoever, out of me, thou mightest be profited,
6 Și astfel va fi liber să nu onoreze pe tatăl și pe mama lui. Astfel ați făcut porunca lui Dumnezeu fără efect din cauza tradiției voastre.
in nowise, shall honour his father or his mother—and so ye have cancelled, the word of God, for the sake of your, tradition.
7 Fățarnicilor, bine a profețit Isaia despre voi, spunând:
Hypocrites! well prophesied concerning you, Isaiah, saying—
8 Acest popor se apropie de mine cu gura lor și mă onorează cu buzele lor; dar inima lor este departe de mine.
This people, with the lips, do, honour, me, while, their heart, far off, holdeth from me;
9 Dar în zadar mi se închină, învățând pe oameni ca doctrine poruncile oamenilor.
But, in vain, do they pay devotions unto me, teaching, for teachings, the commandments of men.
10 Și a chemat mulțimea și le-a spus: Auziți și înțelegeți;
And, calling near the multitude, he said to them—Hear and understand!
11 Nu ce intră în gură spurcă pe om; ci ce iese din gură, aceasta spurcă pe om.
Not that which entereth into the mouth, defileth the man, but, that which proceedeth out of the mouth, the same, defileth the man,
12 Atunci au venit discipolii lui și i-au spus: Știi că fariseii s-au poticnit după ce au auzit acest cuvânt?
Then, coming near, his disciples say unto him—Knowest thou, that the Pharisees, hearing the word, were caused to stumble?
13 Dar el a răspuns și a zis: Orice plantă pe care nu a sădit-o Tatăl meu cel ceresc, va fi dezrădăcinată.
And, he, answering, said—Every plant which my heavenly Father hath not planted, will be uprooted:
14 Lăsați-i; ei sunt călăuze oarbe ale orbilor. Și dacă orbul călăuzește pe orb, vor cădea amândoi în groapă.
Let them alone! they are, blind leaders; and, if the, blind, lead the, blind, both, into a ditch, will fall.
15 Atunci Petru a răspuns și i-a zis: Explică-ne parabola aceasta.
And Peter, answering, said unto him, Declare to us the parable.
16 Și Isus a spus: Sunteți și voi încă fără de înțelegere?
And, he, said, To this moment, are, ye also, without discernment?
17 Încă nu înțelegeți că orice intră în gură merge în pântece și [apoi] este aruncat afară în hazna?
Perceive ye not that, every thing which entereth into the mouth, into the stomach, findeth way, and, into the draught, is passed;
18 Dar cele care ies din gură vin din inimă; și ele spurcă omul.
while, the things which proceed out of the mouth, out of the heart, come forth, and, they, defile the man.
19 Fiindcă din inimă ies gânduri rele, ucideri, adultere, curvii, hoții, mărturii false, blasfemii;
For, out of the heart, come forth wicked designs, —murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, profane speakings:
20 Acestea sunt cele ce spurcă pe om; dar a mânca cu mâinile nespălate nu spurcă pe om.
these, are the things which defile the man, but, the eating with unwashed hands, doth not defile the man.
21 Atunci Isus a ieșit de acolo și s-a dus în părțile Tirului și ale Sidonului.
And, going forth from thence, Jesus retired into the parts of Tyre and Zidon.
22 Și iată, o femeie din Canaan a ieșit din aceleași ținuturi și a strigat către el, spunând: Ai milă de mine, Doamne, Fiul lui David! Fiica mea este chinuită rău de un drac.
And lo! a Canaanite woman, from those bounds, coming forth, began crying out, saying, Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter, is miserably demonized.
23 Dar el nu i-a răspuns niciun cuvânt. Și discipolii lui, venind la el, l-au implorat, spunând: Trimite-o de aici fiindcă strigă după noi.
But, he, answered her no a word. And his disciples, coming forward began requesting him, saying—Dismiss her, because she is crying out after us.
24 Iar el a răspuns și a zis: Nu sunt trimis decât la oile pierdute ale casei lui Israel.
But, he, answering, said, I was not sent forth, save unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Atunci ea a venit și i s-a închinat, spunând: Doamne, ajută-mă.
And, she, coming, began bowing down to him, saying, Lord! help me.
26 Iar el a răspuns și a zis: Nu este bine să iei pâinea copiilor și să o arunci la căței.
But, he, answering, said, It is, not seemly, to take the loaf of, the children, and cast, to the little dogs.
27 Dar ea a spus: Adevărat, Doamne, totuși cățeii mănâncă firimiturile care cad de la masa stăpânilor lor.
And, she, said, True, Lord! [for], even the little dogs, eat of the crumbs which are falling from the table of, their masters.
28 Atunci Isus a răspuns și i-a zis: O, femeie, mare este credința ta, facă-ți-se precum voiești. Și fiica ei a fost vindecată din ora aceea.
Then, answering, Jesus said to her—O woman! great, is, thy faith! Be it, done, for thee, as thou desirest. And her daughter was healed, from that hour.
29 Și Isus a plecat de acolo și a venit lângă marea Galileii; și a urcat pe munte și a șezut acolo.
And, passing on from thence, Jesus came near the sea of Galilee, and, going up into the mountain, was sitting there.
30 Și au venit la el mulțimi mari, având cu ele șchiopi, orbi, muți, ciungi și mulți alții; și i-au aruncat la picioarele lui Isus și i-a vindecat;
And there came unto him large multitudes, having with themselves the lame, the maimed, the blind, the dumb, and many others, —and they cast them near his feet, and he cured them;
31 Încât mulțimea se minuna, văzând că muții vorbesc, ciungii sunt făcuți sănătoși, șchiopii umblă și orbii văd; și glorificau pe Dumnezeul lui Israel.
so that the multitude marvelled, seeing the dumb speaking, the lame walking, and the blind seeing, —and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Atunci Isus i-a chemat pe discipolii săi și a spus: Mi-e milă de mulțime, pentru că sunt acum de trei zile cu mine și nu au ce să mănânce; și refuz să le dau drumul postind, ca nu cumva să cadă de oboseală pe cale.
But, Jesus, calling near his disciples, said—My compassions are moved towards the multitude, because [even now], three days, abide they with me, and they have nothing to eat, —and, to dismiss them fasting, I am not willing, lest by any means they faint in the way.
33 Și discipolii săi i-au spus: De unde să luăm așa multe pâini în pustie, încât să săturăm așa mulțime mare?
And his disciples say unto him—Whence, to us, in a wilderness, loaves in such numbers as to fill a multitude, so great?
34 Și Isus le-a spus: Câte pâini aveți? Și au răspuns: Șapte și câțiva peștișori.
And Jesus saith unto them—How many, loaves have ye? And, they, said, —Seven, and a few small fishes.
35 Și a poruncit mulțimii să șadă jos pe pământ.
And, sending word to the multitude to recline upon the ground,
36 Și a luat cele șapte pâini și peștii, a adus mulțumiri, a frânt și le-a dat discipolilor lui; și discipolii, mulțimilor.
he took the seven loaves, and the fishes, and, giving thanks, brake, —and began giving to his disciples, and, the disciples, to the multitudes.
37 Și au mâncat toți și au fost săturați; și au ridicat din frânturile care au rămas șapte coșuri pline.
And they all did eat and were filled, —and, the remainder of the broken pieces, took they up, seven hampers, full.
38 Și cei ce mâncaseră erau patru mii de bărbați, în afară de femei și copii.
And, they who did eat, were four thousand men, besides women and children.
39 Și a dat drumul mulțimilor și s-a îmbarcat într-o corabie și a venit în ținuturile Magdalei.
And, dismissing the multitudes, he went up into the boat, —and came into the bounds of Magadan.
