Matei 10
1 Și după ce i-a chemat la el pe cei doisprezece discipoli ai săi, le-a dat autoritate împotriva duhurilor necurate, să le scoată și să vindece fiecare boală și fiecare neputință.
And when he had called his twelve disciples to him, he gave them power over evil spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and infirmity.
2 Și numele celor doisprezece apostoli sunt acestea: Primul, Simon, care este numit Petru și Andrei, fratele lui; Iacov al lui Zebedei și Ioan, fratele lui;
These are the names of the apostles (missionaries). First, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother; Jamesthe son of Zebedee, and John, his brother;
3 Filip și Bartolomeu; Toma și Matei, vameșul; Iacov al lui Alfeu și Levi numit și Tadeu;
Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew, the tax-gatherer; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname is Thaddeus;
4 Simon Canaanitul și Iuda Iscariot, care l-a și trădat.
Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him.
5 Pe aceștia doisprezece Isus i-a trimis înainte și le-a poruncit, spunând: Nu mergeți pe calea neamurilor și nu intrați în nicio cetate a samaritenilor.
These men, the Twelve, Jesus sent forth, after giving them the following instructions. "Do not go among the Gentiles, or enter any Samaritan town,
6 Ci mai degrabă mergeți la oile pierdute ale casei lui Israel.
"but rather be on your way to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 Și mergând, predicați, spunând: Împărăția cerului este aproape.
"As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
8 Vindecați bolnavii, curățiți leproșii, înviați morții, scoateți draci; în dar ați primit, în dar să dați.
"Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
9 Nu luați nici aur, nici argint, nici aramă în brâiele voastre,
"Take no gold or silver or coppers in your purses;
10 Nici traistă pentru călătorie, nici două haine, nici încălțăminte, nici toiege; fiindcă lucrătorul este demn de hrana lui.
"not even a bag for the journey, or a change of clothes, or sandals, or even a stick; for the worker is worth his rations.
11 Și în orice cetate sau sat intrați, cercetați cine este demn acolo; și rămâneți acolo până când plecați.
"Into whatever city or town you enter, inquire for some worthy person there, and stay with him until you leave.
12 Și când intrați într-o casă, salutați-o.
"When you enter the house, salute it;
13 Și dacă este demnă casa, pacea voastră să vină peste ea; dar dacă nu este demnă, pacea voastră să se întoarcă la voi.
"and if the house is worthy let your blessing sit upon it; but if it be unworthy, let your blessing return to you.
14 Și oricine nu vă va primi, nici nu va asculta cuvintele voastre, când plecați din casa sau din cetatea aceea, scuturați praful de pe picioarele voastre.
"And whoever will not receive you or listen to your words, as you go out from that house or that city, shake off the very dust from your feet.
15 Adevărat vă spun: Va fi mai ușor de suportat pentru ținutul Sodomei și Gomorei în ziua judecății, decât pentru acea cetate.
"I tell you solemnly it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the Day of Judgment than for that town.
16 Iată, eu vă trimit înainte ca oi în mijlocul lupilor; de aceea fiți înțelepți ca șerpii și inocenți ca porumbeii.
"Behold, it is I who am sending you forth like sheep among wolves. Be then as serpents and as guileless as doves.
17 Dar păziți-vă de oameni, fiindcă vă vor preda consiliilor și vă vor biciui în sinagogile lor;
"But beware of men! For they will give you up to the Sanhedrin, and flog you in their synagogues.
18 Și veți fi aduși înaintea guvernatorilor și a împăraților din cauza mea, pentru mărturie împotriva lor și a neamurilor.
"And you will be taken before governors and kings for my sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
19 Dar când vă vor preda, nu vă îngrijorați cum sau ce veți spune, fiindcă vi se va da în acea oră ce veți spune.
"But whenever they apprehend you, do not be anxious about how you shall speak or what you shall say; for it will be given you in that very hour what to say.
20 Fiindcă nu voi sunteți cei care vorbiți, ci Duhul Tatălui vostru care vorbește în voi.
"For it will not be you who is speaking, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
21 Și frate va preda la moarte pe frate și tatăl pe copil și copiii se vor ridica împotriva părinților și vor face să fie uciși.
"And brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against their parents and put them to death.
22 Și veți fi urâți de toți din cauza numelui meu, dar cel ce îndură până la sfârșit, acela va fi salvat.
"You will be hated by all men because of my name; and he who endures to the end shall be saved.
23 Dar când vă vor persecuta în această cetate, fugiți în alta; fiindcă adevărat vă spun: Nicidecum nu veți sfârși cetățile lui Israel până va fi venit Fiul omului.
"But when they persecute you in one city, flee to the next. In solemn truth I tell you that you shall not have completed the cities of Israel, before the Son of man comes.
24 Discipolul nu este mai presus de învățătorul său, nici robul mai presus de domnul său.
"A pupil is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his masters.
25 Ajunge discipolului să fie ca învățătorul său și robului ca domnul său. Dacă pe stăpânul casei l-au numit Beelzebub, cu cât mai mult pe cei din casa lui?
"It is enough for the pupil to fare like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more, the members of his household.
26 De aceea nu vă temeți de ei, fiindcă nu este nimic acoperit care nu va fi revelat; și ascuns, care nu va fi cunoscut.
"So do not fear them; for there is nothing concealed which shall not be revealed, nor anything secret which shall not become known.
27 Ce vă spun eu la întuneric, spuneți la lumină; și ce auziți la ureche, predicați pe acoperișul caselor.
"What I am telling you is in the darkness, do you speak in the light; and what is whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.
28 Și nu vă temeți de cei care ucid trupul, dar nu sunt în stare să ucidă sufletul; ci mai degrabă temeți-vă de cel care este în stare să nimicească deopotrivă și sufletul și trupul în iad. (Geenna g1067)
"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul; but fear rather him who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
29 Nu se vând două vrăbii cu un ban? Și totuși niciuna din ele nu cade pe pământ fără cunoștința Tatălui vostru.
"Are not two sparrows sold for a half-penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your father.
30 Dar până și perii capului vostru, toți [vă] sunt numărați.
"The very hairs on your head are all numbered.
31 De aceea nu vă temeți, voi sunteți mai de preț decât multe vrăbii.
"Cease to be afraid! You are of greater value than many sparrows.
32 De aceea oricine mă va mărturisi înaintea oamenilor, îl voi mărturisi și eu înaintea Tatălui meu care este în cer.
"Every one, then, who will confess me before men, I also will confess before my Father who is in heaven.
33 Dar pe oricine mă va nega înaintea oamenilor, pe acela îl voi nega și eu înaintea Tatălui meu care este în cer.
"But whoever disowns me before men, I also will disown before my Father who is in heaven.
34 Să nu gândiți că am venit să trimit pace pe pământ; nu am venit să trimit pace, ci sabie.
"Do not suppose that I am come to bring peace on the earth; I am come not to bring peace, but a sword.
35 Fiindcă am venit să întorc pe om împotriva tatălui său și pe fiică împotriva mamei sale și pe noră împotriva soacrei sale.
"For I came to set "a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
36 Și dușmanii omului vor fi cei din casa lui.
"and a man’s own household will be his enemies.
37 Cel ce iubește tată sau mamă mai mult decât pe mine, nu este demn de mine; și cel ce iubește fiu sau fiică mai mult decât pe mine, nu este demn de mine.
"He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
38 Și cel ce nu își ia crucea și nu mă urmează, nu este demn de mine.
"and he who does not take his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.
39 Cel ce își găsește viața, și-o va pierde; și cel ce își pierde viața pentru mine, o va găsi.
"He who has saved his life shall lose it; and he who has lost his life for my sake shall find it.
40 Cel ce vă primește pe voi, mă primește pe mine; și cel ce mă primește pe mine, îl primește pe cel ce m-a trimis.
"Whoever receives you is receiving me, and he who receives me is receiving Him who sent me.
41 Cel ce primește un profet în numele unui profet, va primi răsplata unui profet; și cel ce primește pe un om drept în numele unui om drept, va primi răsplata unui om drept.
"Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet, shall receive a prophet’s reward; and whoever receives a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
42 Și oricine va da să bea unuia din acești micuți doar un pahar cu apă rece în numele unui discipol, adevărat vă spun, nicidecum nu își va pierde răsplata.
"And whoever gives to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, because he is a disciple, I tell you in solemn truth, he shall not lose his reward.
