Marcu 15
1 Și îndată, dimineața, preoții de seamă au ținut sfat cu bătrânii și cu scribii și cu întregul consiliu și l-au legat pe Isus și l-au dus și l-au predat lui Pilat.
As soon as it was daylight, the Chief Priests, after holding a consultation with the Councillors and Teachers of the Law — that is to say, the whole High Council — put Jesus in chains, and took him away, and gave him up to Pilate.
2 Și Pilat l-a întrebat: Ești tu Împăratul iudeilor? Și, răspunzând, i-a zis: Tu spui.
“Are you the King of the Jews?” asked Pilate. “It is true,” replied Jesus.
3 Și preoții de seamă l-au acuzat de multe lucruri; dar el nu a răspuns nimic.
Then the Chief Priests brought a number of charges against him;
4 Și Pilat l-a întrebat din nou, spunând: Nu răspunzi nimic? Iată, câte lucruri aduc ei mărturie împotriva ta.
upon which Pilate questioned Jesus again. “Have you no reply to make?” he asked. “Listen, how many charges they are bringing against you.”
5 Dar Isus, tot nu a răspuns nimic; așa că Pilat se minuna.
But Jesus still made no reply whatever; at which Pilate was astonished.
6 Și la acea sărbătoare le elibera un prizonier, pe oricare îl doreau.
Now, at the Feast, Pilate used to grant the people the release of any one prisoner whom they might ask for.
7 Și era unul numit Baraba, legat cu cei care făcuseră insurecție cu el, care au comis crimă în insurecția aceea.
A man called Barabbas was in prison, with the rioters who had committed murder during a riot.
8 Și mulțimea, strigând tare, a început să îl implore să facă cum le-a făcut totdeauna.
So, when the crowd went up and began to ask Pilate to follow his usual custom,
9 Dar Pilat le-a răspuns, zicând: Voiți să vă eliberez pe Împăratul iudeilor?
he answered: “Do you want me to release the ‘King of the Jews’ for you?”
10 Fiindcă știa că preoții de seamă îl predaseră din cauza invidiei.
For he was aware that it was out of jealousy that the Chief Priests had given Jesus up to him.
11 Dar preoții de seamă au întărâtat oamenii, ca să le elibereze mai degrabă pe Baraba.
But the Chief Priests incited the crowd to get Barabbas released instead.
12 Și Pilat a răspuns din nou și le-a zis: Ce voiți atunci să îi fac celui pe care îl numiți Împăratul iudeilor?
Pilate, however, spoke to them again: “What shall I do then with the man whom you call the ‘King of the Jews’?”
13 Iar ei au strigat din nou: Crucifică-l!
Again they shouted: “Crucify him!”
14 Atunci Pilat le-a spus: De ce, ce rău a făcut? Dar au strigat și mai tare: Crucifică-l.
“Why, what harm has he done?” Pilate kept saying to them. But they shouted furiously: “Crucify him!”
15 Și Pilat, voind să mulțumească poporul, le-a eliberat pe Baraba și l-a predat pe Isus, după ce l-a biciuit, să fie crucificat.
And Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released Barabbas to them, and, after scourging Jesus, gave him up to be crucified.
16 Și soldații l-au dus în sala numită Pretoriu și au adunat întreaga ceată.
The soldiers then took Jesus away into the court-yard — that is the Government House — and they called the whole garrison together.
17 Și l-au îmbrăcat cu purpură și au împletit o coroană din spini și i-au pus-o pe cap.
They dressed him in a purple robe, and, having twisted a crown of thorns, put it on him,
18 Și au început să îl salute: Bucură-te, Împărat al iudeilor!
and then began to salute him. “Long life to you, King of the Jews!” they said.
19 Și îl băteau peste cap cu o trestie și îl scuipau; și, plecându-și genunchii, i se închinau.
And they kept striking him on the head with a rod, spitting at him, and bowing to the ground before him — going down on their knees;
20 Și după ce l-au batjocorit, l-au dezbrăcat de purpură și l-au îmbrăcat cu hainele lui; și l-au dus afară ca să îl crucifice.
and, when they had left off mocking him, they took off the purple robe, and put his own clothes on him.
21 Și au constrâns pe unul Simon, un cirenean care trecea pe acolo, venind de la câmp, tatăl lui Alexandru și Rufus, ca să îi poarte crucea.
And they led Jesus out to crucify him; and they compelled a passer-by, Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them to carry his cross.
22 Și l-au adus la locul Golgota, care fiind tradus este: Locul Căpățânii.
They brought Jesus to the place which was known as Golgotha — a name which means ‘Place of a Skull.’
23 Și i-au dat să bea vin amestecat cu smirnă, dar nu a primit.
There they offered him drugged wine; but Jesus refused it.
24 Și după ce l-au crucificat, și-au împărțit hainele lui, aruncând sorți peste ele, ce să ia fiecare.
Then they crucified him, and divided his clothes among them, casting lots for them, to settle what each should take.
25 Și era ora a treia și l-au crucificat.
It was nine in the morning when they crucified him.
26 Și inscripția acuzației sale a fost scrisă deasupra: ÎMPĂRATUL IUDEILOR.
The words of the charge against him, written up over his head, ran thus — ‘THE KING OF THE JEWS.’
27 Și cu el au crucificat pe doi tâlhari; unul la dreapta și celălalt la stânga lui.
And with him they crucified two robbers, one on the right, and the other on the left.
28 Și s-a împlinit scriptura care spune: Și a fost numărat cu călcătorii de lege.
29 Și cei ce treceau pe acolo îl defăimau, clătinându-și capetele și spunând: Aha, tu care distrugi templul și în trei zile îl zidești,
The passers-by railed at him, shaking their heads, as they said: “Ah! you who would destroy the Temple and build one in three days,
30 Salvează-te pe tine însuți și coboară de pe cruce!
come down from the cross and save yourself!”
31 La fel și preoții de seamă, batjocorind, spuneau între ei împreună cu scribii: Pe alții i-a salvat; pe sine însuși nu se poate salva;
In the same way the Chief Priests, with the Teachers of the Law, said to one another in mockery:
32 Să coboare acum de pe cruce Cristos, Împăratul lui Israel, ca să vedem și să credem. Și cei care erau crucificați cu el îl ocărau.
“He saved others, but he cannot save himself! Let the Christ, the ‘King of Israel,’ come down from the cross now, that we may see it and believe.” Even the men who had been crucified with Jesus reviled him.
33 Și când a venit ora șase, s-a făcut întuneric peste toată țara până la ora nouă.
At midday, a darkness came over the whole country, lasting till three in the afternoon.
34 Și la ora nouă Isus a strigat cu voce tare, spunând: Eloi, Eloi, lama sabactani? Care fiind tradus este: Dumnezeul meu, Dumnezeul meu, de ce m-ai părăsit?
And, at three, Jesus called out loudly: ‘Eloi, Eloi, lama sabacthani?’” which means ‘My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?’
35 Și unii dintre cei ce stăteau acolo în picioare, când au auzit, au spus: Iată, cheamă pe Ilie.
Some of those standing round heard this, and said: “Listen! He is calling for Elijah!”
36 Și unul a alergat și a umplut un burete cu oțet și l-a pus într-o trestie și i-a dat să bea, spunând: Lăsați-l; să vedem dacă va veni Ilie să îl ia jos.
And a man ran, and, soaking a sponge in common wine, put it on the end of a rod, and offered it to him to drink, saying as he did so: “Wait and let us see if Elijah is coming to take him down.”
37 Și Isus a strigat cu voce tare și și-a dat duhul.
But Jesus, giving a loud cry, expired.
38 Și perdeaua templului s-a rupt în două, de sus până jos.
The Temple curtain was torn in two from top to bottom.
39 Și centurionul care stătea înaintea lui în picioare, văzând că astfel a strigat și și-a dat duhul, a spus: Cu adevărat, acest om era Fiul lui Dumnezeu.
The Roman Officer, who was standing facing Jesus, on seeing the way in which he expired, exclaimed: “This man must indeed have been ‘God’s Son’!”
40 Iar acolo erau și femei privind de departe, printre care era Maria Magdalena și Maria, mama lui Iacov cel mic și al lui Iose și Salome;
There were some women also watching from a distance, among them being Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James the Little and of Joseph, and Salome —
41 (Care de asemenea, când era el în Galileea, îl urmau și îl serveau); și multe alte femei care s-au urcat cu el la Ierusalim.
all of whom used to accompany Jesus when he was in Galilee, and attend on him — besides many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem.
42 Și acum, făcându-se seară pentru că era pregătirea, care este ziua dinaintea sabatului,
The evening had already fallen, when, as it was the Preparation Day — the day before the Sabbath —
43 Iosif din Arimateea, un consilier demn de cinste care aștepta și el împărăția lui Dumnezeu, a venit și a intrat cutezător la Pilat și a cerut trupul lui Isus.
Joseph from Ramah, a Councillor of good position, who was himself living in expectation of the Kingdom of God, came and ventured to go in to see Pilate, and to ask for the body of Jesus.
44 Și Pilat s-a minunat că era deja mort; și chemând centurionul, l-a întrebat dacă era mort de ceva timp.
But Pilate was surprised to hear that he had already died. So he sent for the Officer, and asked if he were already dead;
45 Și când a aflat aceasta de la centurion, i-a dăruit lui Iosif trupul.
and, on learning from the Officer that it was so, he gave the corpse to Joseph.
46 Și a cumpărat in subțire și l-a luat jos și l-a înfășurat în pânză de in și l-a pus într-un mormânt care era tăiat într-o stâncă și a rostogolit o piatră peste ușa mormântului.
Joseph, having bought a linen sheet, took Jesus down, and wound the sheet round him, and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of the rock; and then rolled a stone up against the entrance of the tomb.
47 Și Maria Magdalena și Maria, mama lui Iose, priveau unde era pus.
Mary of Magdala and Mary, the mother of Joseph, were watching to see where he was laid.
