Maleahi 4
1 Căci, iată, vine ziua care va arde ca un cuptor; şi toţi cei mândri, da, şi toţi cei ce lucrează cu stricăciune vor fi miriştea; şi ziua care vine îi va arde în întregime, spune DOMNUL oştirilor, astfel încât nu le va lăsa nici rădăcină nici ramură.
For, behold, the day is coming, which shall burn as an oven; and all the presumptuous, yea, and all who practise wickedness shall be stubble: and the day that is coming shall set them on fire, saith the Lord of hosts, who will not leave them root or bough.
2 Dar vouă, care vă temeţi de numele meu, vi se va ridica Soarele dreptăţii cu vindecare în aripile lui; şi veţi merge înainte şi veţi creşte ca viţeii din staul.
But there shall rise unto you that fear my name the sun of righteousness with healing in his wings: and ye will go forth, and grow fat as calves of the stall.
3 Şi veţi călca în picioare pe cei stricaţi, căci vor fi cenuşă sub tălpile picioarelor voastre în ziua în care voi face aceasta, spune DOMNUL oştirilor.
And ye will tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day that I create, saith the Lord of hosts.
4 Amintiţi-vă legea lui Moise, servitorul meu, pe care i-am poruncit-o în Horeb pentru tot Israelul, cu statutele şi judecăţile.
Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, whom I commanded on Horeb for all Israel, statutes and ordinances.
5 Iată, vă voi trimite pe profetul Ilie înainte de a veni ziua DOMNULUI cea mare şi înspăimântătoare;
Behold, I send unto you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the day of the Lord, the great and the dreadful.
6 Şi el va întoarce inima părinţilor la copii şi inima copiilor la părinţii lor, ca nu cumva să vin şi să lovesc pământul cu blestem.
And he shall turn back the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers: lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
