Maleahi 3
1 Iată, voi trimite mesagerul meu şi el va pregăti calea înaintea mea; şi Domnul, pe care îl căutaţi, va veni deodată la templul său, chiar mesagerul legământului, în care găsiţi plăcere; iată, el va veni, spune DOMNUL oştirilor.
Lo, I am sending My messenger, And he hath prepared a way before Me, And suddenly come in unto his temple Doth the Lord whom ye are seeking, Even the messenger of the covenant, Whom ye are desiring, Lo, he is coming, said Jehovah of Hosts.
2 Dar cine poate îndura ziua venirii lui? Şi cine va sta în picioare când va arăta el? Fiindcă el este ca focul topitorului şi ca săpunul albitorului;
And who is bearing the day of his coming? And who is standing in his appearing? For he [is] as fire of a refiner, And as soap of a fuller.
3 Şi va şedea ca un topitor şi un purificator al argintului; şi îi va purifica pe fiii lui Levi şi îi va curăţi ca aurul şi argintul, ca ei să aducă DOMNULUI o ofrandă în dreptate.
And he hath sat, a refiner and purifier of silver, And he hath purified the sons of Levi, And hath refined them as gold and as silver, And they have been to Jehovah bringing nigh a present in righteousness.
4 Atunci ofranda lui Iuda şi a Ierusalimului va fi plăcută DOMNULUI, ca în zilele din vechime şi ca în anii de mai înainte.
And sweet to Jehovah hath been the present of Judah and Jerusalem, As in days of old, and as in former years.
5 Iar eu mă voi apropia de voi la judecată; şi voi fi un martor grabnic împotriva vrăjitorilor şi împotriva adulterilor şi împotriva celor care jură fals şi împotriva celor care oprimă pe angajat în plăţile lui, pe văduvă şi pe cel fără tată şi pe cei care abat pe străin de la dreptul său şi nu se tem de mine, spune DOMNUL oştirilor.
And I have drawn near to you for judgment, And I have been a witness, Making haste against sorcerers, And against adulterers, And against swearers to a falsehood, And against oppressors of the hire of an hireling, Of a widow, and of a fatherless one, And those turning aside a sojourner, And who fear Me not, said Jehovah of Hosts.
6 Căci eu sunt DOMNUL, eu nu mă schimb; de aceea voi, fii ai lui Iacob, nu sunteţi mistuiţi.
For I [am] Jehovah, I have not changed, And ye, the sons of Jacob, Ye have not been consumed.
7 Chiar din zilele părinţilor voştri v-aţi abătut de la rânduielile mele şi nu le-aţi ţinut. Întoarceţi-vă la mine şi eu mă voi întoarce la voi, spune DOMNUL oştirilor. Dar aţi spus: În ce să ne întoarcem?
Even from the days of your fathers Ye have turned aside from My statutes, And ye have not taken heed. Turn back unto Me, and I turn back to you, Said Jehovah of Hosts. And ye have said, 'In what do we turn back?'
8 Va jefui un om pe Dumnezeu? Totuşi voi m-aţi jefuit. Dar voi spuneţi: În ce te-am jefuit? În zeciuieli şi ofrande.
Doth man deceive God? but ye are deceiving Me, And ye have said: 'In what have we deceived Thee?' The tithe and the heave-offering!
9 Sunteţi blestemaţi cu un blestem, căci m-aţi jefuit, chiar toată această naţiune.
With a curse ye are cursed! And Me ye are deceiving — this nation — all of it.
10 Aduceţi toate zeciuielile în cămară, ca să fie mâncare în casa mea, şi încercaţi-mă cu aceasta, spune DOMNUL oştirilor, dacă nu vă voi deschide ferestrele cerului şi să vă torn o binecuvântare, până nu va mai fi loc destul să o primiţi.
Bring in all the tithe unto the treasure-house, And there is food in My house; When ye have tried Me, now, with this, Said Jehovah of Hosts, Do not I open to you the windows of heaven? Yea, I have emptied on you a blessing till there is no space.
11 Şi voi mustra din cauza voastră pe devoratorul, iar el nu va distruge roadele pământului vostru; nici via voastră nu îşi va arunca rodul în câmp înainte de timp, spune DOMNUL oştirilor.
And I have pushed for you against the consumer, And He doth not destroy to you the fruit of the ground, Nor miscarry to you doth the vine in the field, Said Jehovah of Hosts.
12 Şi toate naţiunile vă vor numi binecuvântaţi, căci veţi fi o ţară încântătoare, spune DOMNUL oştirilor.
And declared you happy have all the nations, For ye are a delightful land, said Jehovah of Hosts.
13 Cuvintele voastre au fost înăsprite împotriva mea, spune DOMNUL. Totuşi voi spuneţi: Ce am vorbit noi atât de mult împotriva ta?
Hard against Me have been your words, Said Jehovah, and ye have said: 'What have we spoken against Thee?'
14 Voi aţi spus: Este zadarnic să servim pe Dumnezeu; şi ce folos este că noi am ţinut rânduiala sa şi că am umblat cu jale înaintea DOMNULUI oştirilor?
Ye have said, 'A vain thing to serve God! And what gain when we kept His charge? And when we have gone in black, Because of Jehovah of Hosts?
15 Şi acum numim fericiţi pe cei mândri; da, cei ce lucrează stricăciune sunt ridicaţi; da, cei ce ispitesc pe Dumnezeu chiar sunt eliberaţi.
And now, we are declaring the proud happy, Yea, built up have been those doing wickedness, Yea they have tempted God, and escape.'
16 Atunci cei ce s-au temut de DOMNUL au vorbit deseori unul cu altul; şi DOMNUL a dat ascultare şi a auzit aceasta; şi o carte a amintirii a fost scrisă înaintea lui pentru cei ce s-au temut de DOMNUL şi care s-au gândit la numele lui.
Then have those fearing Jehovah spoken one to another, And Jehovah doth attend and hear, And written is a book of memorial before Him Of those fearing Jehovah, And of those esteeming His name.
17 Şi vor fi ai mei, spune DOMNUL oştirilor, în acea zi când îmi pregătesc bijuteriile; şi îi voi cruţa, aşa cum un om cruţă pe propriul fiu care îl serveşte.
And they have been to Me, said Jehovah of Hosts, In the day that I am appointing — a peculiar treasure, And I have had pity on them, As one hath pity on his son who is serving him.
18 Atunci vă veţi întoarce şi veţi discerne între cel drept şi cel stricat, între cel ce serveşte pe Dumnezeu şi cel ce nu îl serveşte.
And ye have turned back and considered, Between the righteous and the wicked, Between the servant of God and him who is not His servant.
