Luca 23
1 Și toată mulțimea lor s-a sculat și ei l-au dus la Pilat.
Then the whole crowd of them rose up and led Him to Pilate.
2 Și au început să îl acuze, spunând: Am găsit pe acesta pervertind națiunea și oprind a da taxă Cezarului, spunând că el este Cristos, un Împărat.
And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this fellow perverting the nation and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, declaring himself to be Christ, a king.”
3 Iar Pilat l-a întrebat, spunând: Ești tu Împăratul iudeilor? Iar el i-a răspuns și a zis: Tu spui.
So Pilate questioned Him, saying, “Are you the king of the Jews?” In reply He said to him, “You said it!”
4 Atunci Pilat a spus marilor preoți și mulțimii: Nu găsesc nicio vină în acest om.
Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no guilt in this man.”
5 Dar erau și mai insistenți, spunând: Întărâtă poporul, învățând prin toată Iudeea, începând din Galileea, până în acest loc.
But they insisted, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee even to here.”
6 Când a auzit Pilat de Galileea, a întrebat dacă omul este galileean.
When Pilate heard ‘Galilee’, he asked if the man was a Galilean.
7 Și înțelegând că este din jurisdicția lui Irod, l-a trimis la Irod, care era și el în Ierusalim în acele zile.
Upon learning that He belonged to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem during those days.
8 Iar când Irod a văzut pe Isus, s-a bucurat foarte mult, fiindcă demult dorea să îl vadă, pentru că auzise multe despre el; și spera să vadă vreun miracol făcut de el.
Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was really pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see Him, having heard so many things about Him; and he was hoping to see some miracle performed by Him.
9 Atunci l-a întrebat cu multe cuvinte; dar el nu i-a răspuns nimic.
He questioned Him with many words, but He gave him no answer.
10 Iar preoții de seamă și scribii stăteau în picioare și îl acuzau vehement.
On their part, the high priests and scribes stood by, vehemently accusing Him.
11 Iar Irod, împreună cu soldații lui, îl făceau de nimic și îl batjocoreau și l-au înveșmântat cu o haină strălucitoare și l-au trimis înapoi la Pilat.
Then Herod and his soldiers, after ridiculing and mocking Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe and sent Him back to Pilate.
12 Și amândoi, Pilat și Irod, s-au făcut prieteni unul cu altul în acea zi; fiindcă înainte erau în dușmănie unul cu altul.
(That very day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other—previously having been at odds with each other.)
13 Iar Pilat, după ce a chemat la un loc pe preoții de seamă și conducătorii și poporul,
Then Pilate, having called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 Le-a spus: Mi-ați adus pe acest om ca pe unul care pervertește poporul; și iată, eu, cercetându-l înaintea voastră, nu am găsit în acest om nicio vină din cele ce îl acuzați;
said to them: “You have brought this man to me as one who misleads the people, and yet, having examined him in your presence, I have found no guilt in this man as to those things of which you accuse him.
15 Nu, nici chiar Irod; fiindcă v-am trimis la el; și iată, nimic demn de moarte nu i s-a făcut.
Further, neither did Herod (for I sent you on to him); indeed, nothing deserving of death has been done by him.
16 De aceea îl voi pedepsi și îl voi elibera.
I will therefore flog and release him.”
17 (Fiindcă de nevoie, la sărbătoare trebuia să le elibereze pe unul închis.)
(It was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast.)
18 Dar toți au strigat deodată, spunând: Ia-l pe acesta și eliberează-ni-l pe Baraba;
But they all cried out together, saying: “Away with this one! Release to us Barabbas!”—
19 (Care, din cauza unei anumite răscoale făcută în cetate, și ucidere, fusese aruncat în închisoare.)
who had been thrown into prison for a certain insurrection in the city, and for murder.
20 Pilat așadar, dorind să îl elibereze pe Isus, le-a vorbit din nou.
Then Pilate, wanting to release Jesus, addressed them again.
21 Dar ei strigau, spunând: Crucifică-l, crucifică-l!
But they just kept shouting: “Crucify! Crucify him!”
22 Iar el le-a spus a treia oară: De ce, ce rău a făcut el? Nu am găsit nicio vină de moarte în el; așadar îl voi pedepsi și îl voi elibera.
For the third time he said to them: “But what evil has this man done? I have found no reason for death in him. I will therefore flog and release him.”
23 Dar insistau cu voci puternice, cerând ca el să fie crucificat. Și vocile lor și ale marilor preoți au învins.
But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified! And their voices, especially of the chief priests, prevailed.
24 Iar Pilat a dat sentința ca să fie așa cum au cerut ei.
So Pilate decided to grant their demand.
25 Și le-a eliberat pe cel ce fusese aruncat în închisoare din cauza răscoalei și a uciderii, pe cel ce îl cereau; iar pe Isus l-a dat voii lor.
He released the one who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, the one they asked for; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
26 Și pe când îl duceau de acolo, au prins pe unul Simon, un cirenean, venind de la câmp, și pe el au pus crucea, ca să o poarte după Isus.
Now as they led Him away, they conscripted a certain Simon of Cyrene (coming in from a field), and put the cross on him to carry it behind Jesus.
27 Și l-a urmat o mare mulțime a poporului și a femeilor, care, de asemenea, se tânguiau și îl jeleau.
A considerable crowd of people followed Him, including women who were also mourning and lamenting Him.
28 Dar Isus, întorcându-se spre ele, a spus: Fiice ale Ierusalimului, nu plângeți pentru mine, ci plângeți pentru voi înșivă și pentru copiii voștri.
So Jesus turned to them and said: “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; rather weep for yourselves and for your children.
29 Pentru că iată, vin zilele în care vor spune: Binecuvântate sunt cele sterpe și pântecele care nu au născut și sânii care nu au alăptat.
Because indeed, the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, even the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’
30 Atunci vor începe să spună munților: Cădeți peste noi; și dealurilor: Acoperiți-ne.
Then they will begin ‘to say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’
31 Căci dacă ei fac acestea cu un copac verde, ce se va face cu cel uscat?
For if they do these things in the ‘green tree’, what will happen in the ‘dry’?”
32 Și erau de asemenea alți doi răufăcători duși cu el, pentru a fi uciși.
There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death.
33 Și după ce au venit la locul care este numit Calvar, acolo l-au crucificat pe el și pe răufăcători, unul la dreapta și celălalt la stânga.
When they arrived at the place called ‘The Skull’, they crucified Him there; also the criminals, one on His right, the other on His left.
34 Atunci Isus a spus: Tată, iartă-i, fiindcă ei nu știu ce fac. Și i-au împărțit hainele și au aruncat sorți.
Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing”; while they were dividing up His clothes by casting a lot.
35 Și poporul stătea în picioare, privind. Și conducătorii de asemenea, împreună cu ei, [l]-au luat în derâdere, spunând: A salvat pe alții; să se salveze pe sine însuși, dacă el este Cristos, alesul lui Dumnezeu.
Meanwhile the people stood looking on. And especially the rulers among them were sneering, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if such is the Christ, the chosen of God!”
36 Iar soldații de asemenea îl batjocoreau, venind la el și oferindu-i oțet,
Yes, even the soldiers mocked Him, approaching and offering Him sour wine,
37 Și spunând: Dacă tu ești împăratul iudeilor, salvează-te pe tine însuți.
and saying, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself!”
38 Și a fost și o inscripție scrisă deasupra lui cu litere grecești și latinești și evreiești: ACESTA ESTE ÎMPĂRATUL IUDEILOR.
In fact, above Him there was a written notice, in Greek, Latin and Hebrew letters: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 Iar unul dintre răufăcătorii atârnați îl defăima, spunând: Dacă tu ești Cristos, salvează-te pe tine însuți și pe noi.
Then one of the hanged criminals started berating Him, saying, “If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!”
40 Dar celălalt, răspunzând, l-a mustrat, zicând: Nu te temi tu de Dumnezeu, pentru că ești sub aceeași condamnare?
But the other reacted and rebuked him, saying: “Don't you even fear God, since you are under the same condemnation?
41 Și noi, într-adevăr, pe drept; fiindcă primim răsplata cuvenită faptelor noastre; dar acest om nu a făcut nimic incorect.
And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward for our deeds; but this man did nothing wrong.”
42 Iar el i-a spus lui Isus: Doamne, amintește-ți de mine, când vii în împărăția ta.
Then he said to Jesus, “Please remember me, Lord, when you come in your kingdom.”
43 Și Isus i-a spus: Adevărat îți spun: Astăzi vei fi cu mine în paradis.
Jesus said to him, “I tell you assuredly, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
44 Și era cam pe la ora a șasea și a fost întuneric peste toată țara, până la ora a noua.
Now it was about the sixth hour, and darkness came upon the whole land until the ninth hour.
45 Și soarele s-a întunecat și perdeaua templului s-a rupt prin mijloc.
Yes, the sun was darkened; also, the veil of the temple was torn in two.
46 Și după ce Isus a strigat cu voce tare, a spus: Tată, în mâinile tale îmi încredințez duhul; și, spunând astfel, și-a dat duhul.
Then, after giving a loud shout, Jesus said, “Father, it is into your hands that I will commit my spirit.” And having said this, He breathed out His spirit.
47 Și centurionul, când a văzut ce se făcuse, a glorificat pe Dumnezeu, spunând: Într-adevăr, acesta a fost un om drept.
Well upon seeing what had happened, the centurion glorified God, saying, “Certainly this man was righteous!”
48 Și toți oamenii, care s-au adunat la acea priveliște, văzând cele ce se făcuseră, bătându-și piepturile s-au întors.
And the whole crowd that had gathered for the spectacle, when they saw what actually happened, went away beating their breasts.
49 Și toți cunoscuții lui și femeile care îl urmaseră din Galileea, au stat în picioare deoparte, uitându-se la acestea.
But all His acquaintances, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
50 Și iată, era un bărbat, numit Iosif, un consilier, fiind un bărbat bun și drept;
Now then, there was a man named Joseph, a good and righteous man, a Council member
51 (Acesta nu fusese de acord cu sfatul și fapta lor); el era din Arimateea, o cetate a iudeilor; și care aștepta și el împărăția lui Dumnezeu.
(but he had not agreed with their counsel and action), from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who himself was waiting for the Kingdom of God:
52 Acesta a mers la Pilat și a cerut trupul lui Isus.
this man went to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body.
53 Și l-a luat jos și l-a înfășurat în [pânză de] in și l-a pus într-un mormânt tăiat în piatră, în care nu fusese pus nimeni niciodată.
Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock, where no one had ever been laid.
54 Și acea zi era pregătirea; și sabatul se apropia.
It was a Preparation day; the Sabbath was drawing near.
55 Și femeile, de asemenea, care au venit cu el din Galileea, l-au urmat și au văzut mormântul și cum a fost pus trupul lui.
The women who had come with Him from Galilee followed along, and they saw the tomb and how His body was placed there.
56 Și s-au întors și au pregătit miresme și miruri; și s-au odihnit în sabat conform poruncii.
Then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.
