Joshua 16
1 Și sorțul copiilor lui Iosif a ieșit de la Iordanul de lângă Ierihon până la apele Ierihonului către est, până la pustiul care urcă de la Ierihon spre muntele Betel;
The lot came out for the children of Joseph from the Jordan at Jericho, at the waters of Jericho on the east, even the wilderness, going up from Jericho through the hill country to Bethel.
2 Și ieșea de la Betel spre Luz și trecea până la granița archiților spre Atarot,
It went out from Bethel to Luz, and passed along to the border of the Archites to Ataroth;
3 Și cobora spre vest până la ținutul iafletiților, până la ținutul Bet-Oronului de jos și până la Ghezer; și ieșirile lui erau la mare.
and it went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, to the border of Beth Horon the lower, and on to Gezer; and ended at the sea.
4 Astfel copiii lui Iosif, Manase și Efraim, și-au luat moștenirea.
The children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.
5 Și granița copiilor lui Efraim, după familiile lor, era așa: granița moștenirii lor spre est era Atarot-Adar până la Bet-Horonul de sus;
This was the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families. The border of their inheritance eastward was Ataroth Addar, to Beth Horon the upper.
6 Și ținutul ieșea spre vest la Micmetat în partea de nord; și granița se întorcea înspre est până la Taanat-Șilo și trecea înspre est până la Ianoah.
The border went out westward at Michmethath on the north. The border turned about eastward to Taanath Shiloh, and passed along it on the east of Janoah.
7 Și cobora de la Ianoah la Atarot și la Naarata și atingea Ierihonul și ieșea la Iordan.
It went down from Janoah to Ataroth, to Naarah, reached to Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.
8 De la Tapuah, granița mergea spre vest, până la râul Cana; și ieșirile lui erau la mare. Aceasta este moștenirea tribului copiilor lui Efraim, după familiile lor,
From Tappuah the border went along westward to the brook of Kanah; and ended at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim according to their families;
9 Și cetățile care au fost puse deoparte pentru copiii lui Efraim au fost în mijlocul moștenirii copiilor lui Manase, toate cetățile și satele lor.
together with the cities which were set apart for the children of Ephraim in the middle of the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.
10 Iar ei nu i-au alungat pe canaaniții care locuiau în Ghezer, ci canaaniții au locuit în mijlocul lui Efraim până în ziua aceasta și servesc, dând tribut.
They didn’t drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell in the territory of Ephraim to this day, and have become servants to do forced labour.
